Woods deal to Swansea officially off for now, as their deal for Clucas has fallen through.

Good news for us. Let's hope we can hold on to him a bit longer!

Burnley would probably be better going straight for Woods, he is better than Clucas.

Wage demands will be lower too - though we're pretty reluctant to deal with Burnley these days after the crappy way they went after Tarkowski. I'm sure if they offered enough we'd sell though.

Alex Neil has pulled the plug on the Collin Quaner loan, hopefully we have something better lined up, I don't hold out much hope though.

Rotherham have been linked with a move for Matt Crooks. Hes excellent at League 2 and a good League 1 player but it seems like a step too far for him in the Championship.

Villa and Boro both had 6m accepted for Bryan. Will forever love him for his goals against Rovers and United but 6m for a left back with one year left is ridiculous. Can be fantastic but gets far too easy a ride from most because he's an academy boy, this calendar year he's been piss poor.

Looks like our 5m upfront for Waghorn has finally been accepted and we look favourites to land him over Boro, medical today.

Not rate fussed about signing him but will trust Frank and his team. Hopefully some outs to come.

Toto Nsiala and Jon Nolan confirmed.

Excited via the latter obviously, concerned about the former. Will trust in Hurst though and reserve judgement.

In other news Omar Bogle is off to Brum on loan for the season, instead of us supposedly. Happy that we're not his location but we desperately need an alternative.

We're sending winger Connor Mahoney to Brum on loan for the season, with an option to review in January. He was at Barnsley for the latter part of last season.

Was kind of hoping we'd bring in Jon Nolan if Woods left. Good signing.

I was hoping we’d be in for Nolan as well but I’m guessing we’d have been unable to afford him. I didn’t go but everyone is saying that Gibson was brilliant on Saturday so I’m guessing we may not bring in another CM after all. Really surprised we haven’t got rid of anyone yet, apparently we’re struggling to find takers for some of our deadwood due to their wages.

Which is a little surprising given you guys don't hand out massive wages.

He looked a really good prospect at Rovers before the club fucked him off. Looks like it's not gone well for him since leaving us.

Neil is 100% gonna walk as soon as another club show an interest and who can fucking blame him

Supposedly Neil's decision to pull the plug due to Quanar being a bit of a cock and demanding that he starts training on his own terms.

I get your point tho. A few well connected posters have raised concerns regards THs reluctance to push the boat out that little bit more.... despite other board members and PR advising that he should be doing.

Sounds like he's being a bit of an ass. What with the training ground plans being dramatically changed as well.

Bit concerning, but I guess we'll get a better idea of where we stand, in a couple of weeks.

If what those guys are saying is true that we bid £2.5m for Armstrong then I’m less worried about the rest of this week. The funds are available if they manage to persuade Hemmings to stop being tight

Armstrong is a prospect but kinda glad we're not spending up to £3m on him as he wouldn't start when Maguire is fit as they're very similar players.

Would rather spend the cash on someone who is a bit more of a handful, physically, who could play with Maguire, rather than instead of.

Don't know who, Hemmings is obviously only keen to spend on someone with re-sale value.

Sky now saying we're in for Woods regardless of what happens with Clucas. They really ought just give us the trophy now tbh. Get in another CB and a back up for Burnie I can't see anyone living with us.

Nope. Sky are reporting that you are making another bid for Woods, but it's all dependent on you shipping someone out to bring in funds, be that Clucas or not.

At least you guys are now meeting our valuation it seems - £7m up front, rising to £10m, plus the usual sell on fee. Pretty happy with that.

We're signing some young CB on loan from Chelsea. He's been at Hull & Brighton previously. England U21. Name: Something Tomori.

I honestly don't know why I've never heard of him! Any good, anyone?

Fikayo. Think he covered anywhere across the back four last season for Hull but for Brighton he was dependable when he was called upon which was mainly at right back. Good player.

They reported this - the key part being "may be dependent on Clucas leaving".

Clearly not "regardless of what happens with Clucas", as you said.

The rest and the fee I'm getting from ITKers from our side.

Based on bits & bobs I've seen on Twitter, they seemed to like Tomori more than Aina. Aina certainly has mixed reviews... :dk:

Can't remember whether it was Tomori at RB last season that Barkhuizen absolutely destroyed.

Edit: it was, got hooked at half time

So yeah, seeing as Clucas to Burnley is being reported as officially dead and we've supposedly made an improved bid subsequent to these reports, I'd suggest me saying "regardless of Clucas" is a damn sight nearer the mark than your blatant lie of "it's all dependent on you shipping someone out to bring in funds, be that Clucas or not".

That's isn't what Sky reported and I can't understand how you could possibly interpret it that way. We MAY need to move Clucas on but given his move broke down due to circumstances outside of our control and we've since bid for Woods anyway we probably don't. Regardless, don't just make things up, makes you look a sausage.

Not making anything up - just passing on what I've been told, which happens to fit with what Sky is reporting :) unlike your comments.

Sky never said the deal would happen regardless of what happens with Clucas, which is what you claimed they said. In fact, if you read the quote again that I put up from Sky, they specifically mention that Clucas may still be a factor. If you read the full article that goes with it, they mention that while the Burnley deal is dead, other people are interested.

Finally - sausage? How precious. Can tell we're going to get on well this season :)

I admit my initial post was lazy. I meant to allude to the bid reported by Sky and then theorise it must be independent of Clucas but I jumbled it up. Sky saying "may" definitely isn't "it's all dependent on selling Clucas" though :dis:

fwiw I don't see anyone coming in for Clucas on account of him being meh. I was surprised Burnley wanted him. If it was a possibility I'd straight swap him for Woods tbh.

And sausages are nice even if it ain't great to look like one.

I'm really start to feel down about this season. Honestly feels like we're moving back into that mediocre stage which inevitably leads to league 1 for a club like us.
