I admit my initial post was lazy. I meant to allude to the bid reported by Sky and then theorise it must be independent of Clucas but I jumbled it up. Sky saying "may" definitely isn't "it's all dependent on selling Clucas" though :dis:

fwiw I don't see anyone coming in for Clucas on account of him being meh. I was surprised Burnley wanted him. If it was a possibility I'd straight swap him for Woods tbh.

And sausages are nice even if it ain't great to look like one.
TBF, I didn’t say it would be specifically Clucas, just that you needed to sell someone to raise the funds.

Think Woods will do well for you guys. Great footballer, held back by being distinctly average in a few areas (his goal record is terrible, and he gets surprisingly few assists), otherwise I genuinely believe he would have hit the Premier League sooner. We’ll miss him for sure, won’t be easy to replace, but the cash is more important to us.

Yaya has been at Stoke today. It's almost like a case study of how not to get promoted.

Include West Brom too - they're struggling to land league two players.

Vydra seemingly off to Burnley. Fee almost agreed, which I assume means the structure of it.

Brentford rejecting 15m from Leicester for Mepham now, the price they quoted us earlier in the summer iirc.

So it looks like today’s news will be -
Waghorn off to Derby for £5m+
Jon Nolan and Toto Nsiala from Shrewsbury in for a combined £2m
And Kayden Jackson in from Accrington for circa £2m.

Only other target Hurst would be waiting on would be Curtis Tilt from Blackpool.

Josh Windass for £2m now linked. Surely we wouldn’t get spend another £2m:pond:

That’s the upfront fee we’re asking for, but need a lot of add ons on top. Leicester’s offer had none, and didn’t have a sell on clause either.

Was a target for us last season but we were priced out and went for Bodin instead it seems.

Markets move. With only two days left of the window it's unlikely that he'll go for less than £20m. Is he worth £20m based on his current ability? No. Is he worth £20m as an asset to us? Almost certainly.

I agree, if you're paying 2m for Accrington's 2nd highest scorer last season you are getting massively ripped off.

Vydra going to Burnley presumably means Wells and Walters are surplus to requirements and will be shipped out. We've been linked with both but there's no chance we can afford Wells' wages, we're struggling to accommodate Walters' wages apparently.

We always get linked with Wells. Think he’d be a good fit but he’s the wrong profile for who we’d bring in. Wages too high, too old.

It was only a rumoured fee but considering Peterborough also matched the bid, it's unlikely to be £2m
Accrington Observer saying it understands an initial bid of £2.6m rising to £4.1m in adds on.

Accrington chairman has rubbished reports that ourselves, QPR and Peterborough have all had bids accepted for Jackson today.

BTW- If the fee is anywhere close to 2.6 rising to 4.1... Ipswich Town definitely aren't anywhere near it.

Sorry mistook the 6 for a 4. It's 2.6 rising to 6.1. Flash as fuck.

Quick google and scan of the Accrington Observer website and twitter feeds show absolutely no mention of a £2.1m fee.

Aber making up news stories again. You bored mate?

If we ended up with Jackson, Josh Windass and Tilt I'd be happy with our business this window, refreshing to see us spending. I can't quite see us coming up with £4m+ though for the two former players, I think it will be an either/or scenario which will still leave us short up top.

So yeah, seeing as Clucas to Burnley is being reported as officially dead and we've supposedly made an improved bid subsequent to these reports, I'd suggest me saying "regardless of Clucas" is a damn sight nearer the mark than your blatant lie of "it's all dependent on you shipping someone out to bring in funds, be that Clucas or not".

That's isn't what Sky reported and I can't understand how you could possibly interpret it that way. We MAY need to move Clucas on but given his move broke down due to circumstances outside of our control and we've since bid for Woods anyway we probably don't. Regardless, don't just make things up, makes you look a sausage.
BBC reporting today that the Woods deal is dependent on Clucas leaving, and quoting your manager as saying that you need to sell before you can buy.

Exactly what I was saying yesterday.

Dafydd Pritchard can suck my dick. When you get relegated it's obvious you need to restructure - that's all Mr Potter has said.

I bet you your avatar that even if Clucas doesn't leave we'll still sign Woods.

It’ll be Clucas, or Ayew, or someone else. The only reason the Woods deal isn’t done now is you need to sell someone first.

Signed Odubajo on a free transfer, 12 month deal with a club option for another year.

Delighted with that, he was brilliant for us a few years ago. Still young, if he can get past his injuries we’ve got a quality player.

Sounds like the Vydra deal will be structured with Wells coming our way.

Which basically means nobody has a fucking clue what we're trying to achieve with Marriott, Waghorn and Wells incoming this window.

Signed Brandon Barker on a season long loan from Man City, replacement for Bodin while he's injured.
