We know how much Chelsea like hanging on to players till their mid-20s.

Wouldn't be surprised if they keep him and loan him out again. Weird club.

Loan shouldn’t be an option for us. Would mean he doesn’t want to come here permanently in which case look elsewhere.

Knowing our luck he’ll probably go and win player of the tournament at the 21s tournament and that’ll be that for us.

What would he expect to get do you think?

I’m not 100% sure to be honest.

Just know that Palace were paying a large chunk of his wages for us and Bowyer said that we’ve had to release him as we simply can’t afford him without Palace’s contribution.

I thought QPR were being careful with the purse strings so just makes me think Williams wouldn’t be viable for you either.

We have been linked with Jay Dasilva, along with Bristol City. Though I think City want to buy and we want to loan.
Would be interested to see what the fee would be. I can imagine we would have a 20% sell on after selling him as a 10 year old.

We are so if that is the case then we won't be going after him.

Same with us and Sterling (though he was a bit older). He wanted out for Liverpool (can't think why) and we had 20%, so we got a nice £10 million windfall when he moved to City.

He’s unlikely to find himself in the Premier League with his injury record so he’s going to have to take some sort of pay cut.

A bloke I work with goes out with his Aunt so will ask if he’s heard anything.

Is he that good then? I don't think I have seen him play.

Seen Leeds want Freeman?

Could be more cash coming our way with the sell on. Shame our fans didn't appreciate how good he actually was, most of them were offering to drive him to another club back when he left for some bizarre reason.

He is good but he is very frustrating at the same time. He always has to beat a man; I mean I like flair but when there is a counter attack going and he's faffing around doing step overs to beat no one rather than releasing someone in behind that's where he has to improve.

I would love to see his stats for assists, but from open play. I don't think they will be that high. He would probably suit Leeds though, as he is a hard worker so would suit the high press. How much have you seen the link for?

We have signed Callum McManaman. I know the name but no idea if that is a good signing or not!

He is being billed as a winger so indicates a bit of a change of approach from us!

Was decent 5 years ago but doesnt seem to have done too much since. Bit of a sicknote as I recall? Have to see how this one plays out.

I’ve obviously only ever seen him at L1 and he’s far too good for that.

I just meant I doubt he’ll find a PL club that will match what he’s on at Palace so he’ll probably end up in The Championship which will likely mean a pay cut.

Very talented when he came through and got a big money move after Wigan were relegated, since then he's been on loan to us and Sunderland and made little impact, with a pretty poor spell back at Wigan. Could be a good signing and get his career back on track, could be a total waster, there won't be any inbetween.

For a free transfer and maybe a £10k a week contract, is it not good business in that sense?

10k a week would be stupid money for such a risky sounding player. Would be likely our biggest earner, if we pay anyone 10k a week they need to be a stand out player in the first 11, not a “he might turn out to be something, he might be a waster” type!

How many FA Cup final MOTMs can we afford on our budget though?

Our local paper reporting Bristol City looking at Dan Bentley for 4 million. Not sure how they would know much about that but I was under impression he's had an absolute shocker at Brentford this season.

Liam Kelly (gk) could be joining from Livingston as he has a 50k buy out clause after their relegation.

Lee Wallace (lb) could be joining on a free after being released by Rangers.

Both have played for Warburton before so it would make sense and both are cheap; though it's from the Sun in Scotland so probably just lazy journalism.

Ryan Hedges has turned down a contract offer from us and gone to Aberdeen. Fringe player but was handy to have in the squad. Not too disappointed he's gone.

Good God, Wallace would be horrific.

Yeah. Very impressive for his first couple it years but a huge liability last year. Would bite their hands off for £4m

Us and Millwall have had 1.5m bids for Lowe at Pompey turned down, they want 3m. I’d hope we go no higher than 2m, granted I’ve not seen much but he looked rubbish in the playoffs.
