Bond to Reading.

Good young goalie

Guess he wants games but shame we are letting him go on a permanent deal..

I'll be honest every time I've seen Bond play I've been unimpressed.

Rumoured to be in for Billy Sharp :(

I'd take that, proven player in this league and in a similar boat to what Beckford was at Bolton.

LEP says we're close to announcing our first 'proper' signing in the next few days as we're deep in talks with four players who are contracted to other clubs. Darikwa is probably one and another name that keeps popping up is George Saville at Wolves. The deal to bring in an unnamed left back on a free transfer is supposedly dead.

Still waiting on United to get their keeper situation sorted so we can sign Johnstone.

Would imagine George Saville will be for sale now we've brought in Conor Coady

Like i said I didn't draw those comparisons (if you can call it that).

You don't get to be capped at all levels (regardless of amount of caps), be the captain of Man United's under 21's for a few years and have Man United fans genuinely baffled at your release and lack of first team opportunities with them by being a mug.

I dunno, we signed David Gray from United who rejected a one year extension to stay on with them...worst right back i've ever seen.

Tom Thorpe seems a good signing though on paper, can't say i've ever seen him play.

damn hope Sharp doesn't go to Preston, not because of Preston as a club but i washoping he would go to the Blades in a swap deal for that midfielder i forgot the name of?

Bond may not necessarily be first choice.

Rumours of us having Al Habsi on a short six month deal and then signing Myhill in January.

Bond could be backup for them.

Apparently there are 3 clubs contemplating making a bid for our Yaser Kasim - Brum, Bristol City and Wigan - although selling him to a league rival is unlikely

Thinking about it, Sharp wouldn't be the worst signing we could make.

He returns :sb:

I'd take him. Competition/replacement for Pack.

Reckon we'll finish our business this week.

In an ideal world, Tavernier will sign, Arsenal will give in and give us Martinez and Maguire signs on too.

Much as I thing Packy is great, I think this might be a step too far for him, unfortunately. While he's good with the ball, I think his lack of pace might show up when we haven't got it. I would love to be proven wrong though.
Kasim would be a tidy signing TBH and a great partner for Korey.

Pack is faster than Kasim? I think he deserves a chance. A massive asset heading the ball away infront of our back three too. I'd take any signing right now ( a reserve keeper doesn't count)

No idea Dave. I just remember Walsall's second goal at our place where their midfielder ran away from Packy with the ball and Packy couldn't catch him without it. I'm just a bit concerned, that's all.

Fee for Jonathan Bond could be as low as £250k. Watford will obviously have a rather large sell on clause, but that for that price i'm surprised there hasn't been more competition.

Annoyed we let Kasim go without really giving him a chance, but he had the likes of Bridcutt & Hammond in front of him and also gained a bit of a reputation as a nutjob following some unseemly incidents and red cards for the u21s, which I think made the club's decision to release him a little easier.

Did look to have a lot of ability and composure on the ball from the bits I saw though, and clearly ran the show for Swindon at times last season. It'll be interesting to see how he does if he ends up returning to the Amex with a Championship side next season. Think Birmingham might be a good fit as he'd probably be a central figure there - unsure they'd be able to afford him though?

We should've gone in for Bond. Excellent signing for Reading and a steal at that price

Where'd you hear this? I'd be over the moon if we signed him.

I was trawling through some twitter account - can't remember whose - and there was a link to something called FL72 rumours.

I know Power is looking for £1m minimum.

Good a player as he is I think he will only do well within a certain style of play - if which he would have to be the hub.

Rumours that he's not the easiest character around teammates
