Hmm yeah, backs up my suspicions. Has he given the impression he's definitely off, a la Luongo, or is there a chance he'll be staying put at Swindon?

Originally, he stated he wanted off but has recently retracted that and said he would happily stay at Swindon.

Whether this was because of a lack of potential suitors and he didn't want to burn his bridges, I don't know.

He is presently contracted for another year with the club having the option of a further year so there is no desperate need for him to be sold - unless, of course, we want to cash in now.

Is he the Iraqi lad? He was mentioned with Wolves very early in pre season and it turned the clubs facebook group into the lads fan page, every article they posted was quickly swarmed by 100 plus Iraqi's asking when they were announcing the signing and what number he would be etc. Like a really low rent version of the clamour that Nakata used to generate for his clubs.

Apparently there are 3 clubs contemplating making a bid for our Yaser Kasim - Brum, Bristol City and Wigan - although selling him to a league rival is unlikely

For some reason I thought we were after him as well. No? Can't see him going to Wigan if Birmingham and Bristol City are interested.....

It'd probably take a lot for Swindon to sell up to us, but we probably have money available that a club like them can't refuse, so it may happen.

Who knows, just another rumour at the moment, but certainly a more exciting one than some of the shite we've been linked with so far.

I don't think anybody would care that much, TBH.

Show Power the right money and he'll sell.

Tony Craig has rejoined Millwall. Good luck to him, top quality L1 defender, good Championship one as well but we have too many better and younger options.

Apparently we've enquired about David Nugent. There will be an increase of wank induced comas in Preston if he comes back :fl:

Burnley want Richard Keogh, plus some money, for Jason Shackell - I think that would be poor business by us. Shackell is the better defender, I'm not disputing that, but we should be looking to build around that partnership, in my opinion.

Birmingham want Jake Buxton, £1m fee touted - I'd be despondent if this was to happen. He's an outstanding defender, full-blooded and can play football too. He's slow, but apart from that I can't knock any other aspect of his game. I'd hate to see him leave despite a good chance he wouldn't be first choice anyway.

Liam Bridcutt rumours intensify - I think he would be a really smart signing; a proven defensive midfielder at this level. However, Sunderland fans really don't like him. Local media suggests he's not on our list but a number of places are now reporting our interest.

Can any Sheffield Wednesday fan tell me about Jermaine Johnson apparently we may be interested. I know he doesn't play for you anymore but I doubt I'll find someone who supports his current club on here

He gets you off your seat, he'll be fantastic one game then piss poor next, plus if you do get him you can do the Reda/JJ 'Toure' song.

I cant help but think we have paid way too much for Conor Coady. Time will tell but I doubt we will spend much more than that this transfer window and I think that sort of money could have been better spent. KJ has pulled of a number of great transfers for us though so he has our trust.

Returned from 5 days in the Algarve to see we have made 2 further signings.

El Hadji Ba from Sunderland and Simon Makienok on a season long loan from Palermo, Fred Bulot is supposedly close to signing permanently too. Pleasing to finally be getting the players in, still quite a bit to do yet though.

Out of curiosity do you have many UK players based left? I look at Charlton's team nowadays and don't recognise many of the names.

Not as many as I'd like but still a few that are in and around the first team.

Henderson (Irish but will include him)
Solly
Wiggins
Jackson
Cousins
Watt
Harriott

We usually have a couple of youngsters on the bench too.

Rumours are we've agreed a fee for Jason Shackell. Will his missus be happy to leave their dream home in the picturesque heavenly town known as Burnley?

I hope it doesn't involve Keogh going the other way. Yes he's infuriating at times, but he's still a good centre back. Could see them striking a great partnership together.

Buxton can go. He's clearly not going to have a first team role here, and if we can recoup £1m of what we've spent this summer from selling Buxton, then we've done well.

He racked up the most clearances in the Premier League last season and has been at the heart of a very good Burnley defence for a few years and before that was our POTY. I'd say he is very proven and very much a top CB at this level, even a decent Premier League defender based on last season. He has improved no end with age but at 31(32 soon) he is on the experienced side.

My problem would be Pearce/Albetosa are slow and Shackell isn't fast either. Keogh staying is a must, but I imagine Shackell will be captain so he may be put out.

I agree. I like the lad and didn't want to lose any players this summer but £2m looks crazy to me.

Apparently signing Darikwa tomorrow, looks like a great right back.

The Chesterfield player? He impressed me for 45 minutes when we played up there at the end of last season, then Joe Bryan absolutely tore him to pieces.
Good player but not necessarily a good defender IMHO.

I remember Jason Shackall at Wolves, we spent a decent amount on him and for some reason just stuck him in our reserves for 12 months and loaned him out. Such a waste of a talented player.
