You could only afford your current wage bill and 'stay' within FFP by selling your stadium - so you can't really afford it.

If 32Red are fronting most of his wages then that is a cracking deal for you, but can't see that they'd get enough return on investment for that money (over £4m per year), so it's much more likely they're only contributing a fraction of that (even a fraction of that would likely be record breaking).

In a way we can though, as we've sold a valued asset. The fact he is our owner doesn't really help us in the long run does it? We're at a disadvantage to loads of teams now in the long term - unless we hit the jackpot. We're not the first and won't be the last to do what we did mind, a few have gone under the radar.

Re wages yeah I imagine it won't be all of it but if Mel is confident we can make a profit on him (which I have no doubt we will if he thinks so) then it must be a decent chunk.

Some wild figures being thrown around at the moment mind, not sure where 100k is coming from. He's only on $3.5 million a year which is what, £3 million-ish. Frank was on 2 mill and nobody batted an eyelid. This is his foot in the door to coaching and a route back home now his payday has finished from Man United and Everton, he's not coming here for the money.

Steve Jones 20 years ago. Bloody useless footballer but one hell of a tan!

Not a word of it, one of the heroes of 98.

Still remember going absolutely bananas when he got the late equaliser in a 3-3 draw at Anfield in our first year in the prem.

Sounds like we're waiting to see if West Ham meet Ajeti's asking price or not. At the moment they haven't, but if they do then any chance of a deal for us would likely be gone.

We've agreed a fee for Ghaddos, our 2nd choice, but are waiting on any movement on Ajeti before proceeding any further.

If Tarkowski is sold in the next 48 hours then we will likely spend some of the cash that would come our way on another striker, but it looks more and more likely that Tarky will be staying put.

Sky are saying Ajeti is going to be on 50 thousand a week at West Ham so I highly doubt we have ever realistically been in for him. Hopefully we can get a striker in before the deadline, Taylor from Charlton would be a good signing.

Bloody useless for us Bobbin. I suppose some players fit in well at some clubs and not others.

Luongo having a medical today apparently, well pleased with that one, definitely needed another body in midfield, good age and good experience at this level. Some saying the fee is around 3M some saying even less.

Everton have made a move for Alex Iwobi, might throw a bit of shade over any potential Nketiah loan move.

He improved back end of last season.

We're close to signing QPR midfielder Massimo Luongo.

Bloody love Mass! (not the church kind). Brilliant footballer.

Hopefully we have a sign-on for him. 3 million is a snip bearing in mind the current fees being banded about in the Championship.

Surprised Matias isn't following Joao to be honest. The pair are inseparable.

QPR fan sites are also quoting a £3m fee. I would be happy with that for his especially as he is in the last year of his contract. Bordeux and some club in Aus also want/wanted him so it should mean the £3m is about right.

He is a good player but does go missing. He doesn't control the game enough but he is the best at slide tackling. He goes in for a tackle and wins it brilliantly.

Still not got a club Matias, think he enjoys his cake making business more than football these days.

Saw him a few weeks ago. He's had a few offers from Portugal and one from a Greek club but his preference is to stay in England.

Colback been told he can leave Newcastle. We absolutely need to get him back, will transform the whole team as our set up completely relies on a good footballer in front of the back 4.

Bristol City have signed a Portuguese right back from Benfica, was a regular for Genoa last season. Good CV.

We’ve apparently agreed a deal to bring Josh Cullen back on loan.

Now we’ve apparently come in for Kane Vincent-Young, RB from Colchester after Luton have had a bid knocked back.

It’s all too much.

Pedro Pereira, on loan with a pre agreed permanent fee.
We released Pisano, at Italian right back at the end of last season and have now replaced him with a younger right back of a higher standard, schooled in Portugal and Italy. Got to be happy with that TBH.
More expected today by all accounts.

Sure he'll get a club, got some ability but think the injuries he got early on with us have took a bit out of his game.

So the rumour mill has exploded a bit from our side. We’re not going to break our transfer record again this summer but want to bring 2-3 more players in. Our squad is already humongous.

Cameron Carter-Vickers - Tottenham - not close to a deal.

David Sesay - Crawley - they’ve “looked at” nothing more.

Marc Wilson - freebie - interest

Isaac Vassell - Brum - missing out it seems

Kane Vincent-Young - Colchester - Charlton also in the race

We’ve given up on Max Lowe, won’t meet Derby’s asking price (though that may change if we sell Henry), so are apparently signing Dominic Thompson, a youngster from Arsenal.
