Josh Cullen confirmed on season-long loan. Buzzing with that.

Also supposedly have said that Lyle Taylor is not for sale but said the same thing about Dijksteel only last week although to be fair, Bowyer said that a management decision and not the owners’. Which is a great bit of business if that’s freed up some wage space to bring Cullen in.

Nketiah didn’t turn up for his medical today. What a shame, that’s probably us fucked. We won’t sign anyone half as good.

There's a Championship team in for Louis Moult on loan, Luton were linked in January so I'd guess at them.

It’s us I’ve just heard.

Yeah didn’t want to commit. It’s shit, everything was agreed and in place.

I like him, just doesn't suit us, better in a front two with someone doing the donkey work. We're strictly one up front.

Tidy footballer, good movement in the box.

Sounds perfect for us, if Taylor stays that is as he’s the one who runs around being a nuisance.

Would be pleased with that.

The club cleared out a lot of dead wood and the Chinese owners are very rich. Presumably still within the realms of our FFP commitments.

Reports say we're trying to get Danny Loader in before the deadline, isn't he highly rated down at Reading?

Saman Ghoddos from Amiens is having a medical tomorrow apparently, never heard of him before yesterday but looks like a top signing.

Bobby Reid apparently

You’d love that, wouldn’t you?

According to Tom Barclay of The Sun (yeah, I know) we look the most likely to land Sam Field from West Brom.

Nicked Tom Pearce off Barnsley for a laugh. Guess he’ll make an okay backup for Robinson.

Puscas is a quality addition.

So is FFP enforceable or are clubs now thinking fuck it, let's battle against it.

Saw Puscas play for the Romanian under 21's looked some player, looks like we're one of few clubs trying to work with FFP, could be some points deductions coming soon.

Heard Reading have a certain agent involved which could be an explanation, not Mendes, the bloke who brought Tevez and Mascherano to West Ham. I know Joao is now under his agency rather than Doyen

I dunno mate, he went to Cardiff and it’d split the fan base but he’s a top player. Football fans are fickle anyway, if he scored Saturday everyone would be back on side.

The plot thickens. Wonder how much longer clubs can carry on spending like they are in this league, surely someones going to hit some serious financial issues soon.

FFP will be abolished within a few years I reckon. EFL have been made to look like mugs with this Rooney deal, only matter of time before they say fuck it and give up.

FFP has been full of shit ever since they didn't give QPR any serious punishment.

In addition to Ghaddos, we’ll also have Johnson (19 year old LB from Arsenal, nominal fee) and Halil Dervisoglu (19 year old striker from Sparta Rotterdam, for £3m) joining, all subject to medicals

Brilliant window for us, the only real negative being losing Maupay - obviously a huge loss, but otherwise the squad looks much much stronger.

Maupay is a massive loss, if you'd kept him you'd have won last Saturday.

If we had any striker in the team we’d have won...

It’s likely a lot of our signings will take time to bed in, we’ve replaced half of our first XI, wouldn’t be surprised if we have some pretty poor form early on.

If Benrahma or Watkins leave it will be a bad window for you.

Konsa for Jansson is like for like, as is Raya for Bentley. Maupay is a huge loss as you say, and signing all these random players to replace him won't make you any stronger than last season. Also Barbet is another loss.

Hey at least you made a profit.

Jansson should be a big upgrade on Konsa. Pinnock should be an upgrade on Barbet. Norgaard and Jensen are for sure upgrades on Macleod and McEachran.

Raya for Bentley is fairly equivalent. Sawyers will be a big miss. We don’t really look to have replaced him. Whoever we sign to replace Maupay won’t have quite as good a first season, but spending £7m on Ghaddos shows a lot of intent.

But add to that we’re also signing a back up left back (which we didn’t have last year), a young back up striker (which we didn’t have last year) for £3m, a young winger for £5-6m (which is buying Benrahma’s replacement in advance), another young winger who was the best player in Poland last year, and a Young English DM.

For sure, losing Watkins, Benrahma or Henry tomorrow would be huge blows, but all currently look like they’re staying. We’ve spent big to replace Maupay (who we wanted to keep, but what can you do when a player wants to leave) and I’d say strengthened across all other positions, and added a lot of depth which has been our Achilles heel.

100% we’re a stronger team now as it stands. If we lose some players tomorrrow, then yeah we’d have to revisit that.

I appreciate you've brought these players in, but last season (in all comps)

Maupay - 28 goals
Watkins - 12 goals
Benrahma - 11 goals

Worst case scenario you lose 51 goals from last season from those 3 players, best case scenario you've lost just Maupay but that's still a huge 28 goals. I think your recruitment as been as good as it could probably have been given the circumstances, but it's hard to see how you're stronger than last season.

Not saying losing Maupay isn’t a huge loss. I do think better squad depth will help us a lot (we’ve had to play most of the last two years with no proper left back).

Our big issue last year was poor defence, and we’ve invested heavily there to hopefully improve (Jansson a good example), we’ve always scored a lot of goals, so I’m not too worried about that.

At the moment, we’ve still got Watkins and Benrahma. Hopefully one of Ghaddos and Mbeumo step up to Maupay’s level.
