Fulham confirm the free transfer signing of Jamie O’Hara on a one-year deal

How did he actually do at Blackpool? looked him up and he played 27 games according to Wiki so maybe he can make a proper comeback, unlike many I don't hold any ill feelings towards him, it was clear to me he was trying to play through and injury he shouldn't have, and this has ultimately caused him knock on effects and resulted in him being pretty appalling.

There was a cracking player in O'Hara at one stage, the year at Portsmouth and his spell on loan with us he was a decent bottom quarter prem talent.

You never know. Stranger things have happened. For a one year deal in a position where we need cover, we have had worse purchases.

we wait years for an actual Fulham fan and we get this bizarre 7 year old, shocking
We had one briefly last season on TFF. "Kit Symons Army". He talked like a wartime BBC radio presenter, saying weird shit like "About to sign Carl Ikeme of the Wolverhampton colours".......
I had this strange vision of a young fresh-faced lad in a purple blazer and cap talking into a big microphone.

And that concludes the defence, yer 'onor.

Christ. Dads army taking that seriously. Barrel of laughs you.

Dad's army?? Totally lost now. Just because people don't pepper their posts with smiley faces and all-action gifs, it doesn't mean they're not also being ironic or having fun. You have this curious habit of not getting other peoples' humour (not just mine) and then getting a bit worked up yourself and resorting to personal insults based on what **you** think these other people are like. Try combatting banter with banter rather than hurling unpleasant jibes around.

O'Hara and Johnson - and several others - were tarred with not doing their best. Johnson had almost rehabilitated himself when he applauded the Wigan fans at the end of our PL life. O'Hara also seemed to dislike the club, which didn't help.
Us Wolves fans are curiously fickle and seem less forgiving of errors. I've been surprised to see people turn on Karl Henry and Wayne Hennessey, both one-time heroes. Sadly, I can see the South Bank picking on Kevin McDonald now.
In reality, I'd like to see all of them (O'Hara, Johnson included) do well for themselves, and am always pleased when they do.

Plan C in terms of a goalkeeper isn't happening at the moment as Arsenal are open to negoatiating a deal for Martinez, which would be our signing of the season.

Also Eric Black is joining as a coach.

Apparently MK Dons and Huddersfield have met Kyle Dempsey's buy-out clause (believed to be 450k). However, Barnsley have also matched the clause, and it looks likely he could be joining them instead.

Other rumours on Twitter suggest Hull and QPR are interested too.

That'd be daylight robbery if someone gets him for that price, looks destined to play at the top level. Quality player.

Also would argue that Dyche has proven to be a success in the transfer window. When he was linked with our job that was the one thing that made me want to look elsewhere. Juke, Sordell and whatnot in the Premier League was just barmy! Wasn't most of Burnley's best players - Ings, Trippier, Shackell..etc - signed by Howe? I could be wrong, but Heaton seems to be his only outstanding signing!

You are very wrong!! Dyche signed Heaton on a free in the summer of 2013 along with TWO more frees Scott Arfield and David Jones. All three were virtually ever-present in the 93-point promotion campaign and in the Premier League season.

Dyche has also signed George Boyd, who won most of the fans' Player of the Year awards (ahead of Ings and Trippier), and also Ashley Barnes (who acquitted himself well in the PL) plus Stephen Ward who replaced Ben Mee at left-back and was playing very well before getting a bad injury.

As for Trippier and Shackell being signed by Eddie Howe - Trippier has publicly stated that Burnley's defence was a "shambles" before Dyche took over from Howe in September 2012. Trippier said Dyche "has made me twice the defender I was before he (Dyche) arrived at the club."

I presume Shackell feels the same way. Burnley conceded 22 goals in the first 10 games of the 2012/13 season before Howe jumped ship and went back to B'mouth but Dyche cam in and tightened up the same back 5 (Lee Grant, Trippier, Duff, Shackell and Mee) massively. After Dyche arrived, Burnley had the second best defence after champions Cardiff in the 2012/13 season.

In the promotion season, with Heaton replacing Lee Grant in goal, the defence of Trippier, Duff, Shackell and Mee only conceded 37 goals in 46 games - the meanest in the Championship.

Squad go off to Portugal on Sunday. If we haven't signed anyone by then I'm going to be fucking worried.

I always wonder why clubs don't put in far better buy-out clauses, especially for younger players who could develop very quickly in their early 20s. £450 does seem low for Dempsey.

On the positive side, you get to keep it all and spend it on someone not as good as Dempsey but who looks less like Bart Simpson.

Billy Sharp to Sheffield United for £500k according to Sky. Good business for both parties, that.

Few more reports linking us with a move for Guidetti. Then again, a few other reports saying he definitely isn't coming. Not sure what to make of that one, but it would be a fantastic signing if true, exactly the kind of player we need up front, and even if he cost a fair wack in wages, we'd be getting him for free so saving a lot on the transfer fee.

Halimi deal is now definitely off. Shame as he looked a very good prospect, but we have enough midfielders anyway.

Don't know why McEachran deal hasn't gone through yet. It's expected to be confirmed as the medical has been had, but still no announcment yet.

I can't deny that Dyche is a fantastic manager, but I feel that he's a fantastic manager because he shoots himself in the foot in the transfer market. That's just my feelings. I think he gets the absolute upmost out of his players, but signs fairly average players. Mick McCarthy also seems to have this trait - in my opinion. Billy Davies too.

Burnley did unbelievably well in the Premier League considering the squad you had/have and were still relegated. If Dyche was to leave Burnley then I'd all but rule you out a promotion chase, and I don't think I would be alone in that.

I know he works with some horrendous restrictions but when was the last time you signed someone and thought 'wow, we've pulled off something special there' under Dyche.

Don't think that's fair on McCarthy, tbh. For us he brought in some decent players.....Kightly, Jarvis, Neill Collins, Andy Keogh, Wardie, Vokes, Elokobi, Ebanks-Blake, Berra, David Jones.... there are more. While none of these may be world-beaters by any means, all played a role in promotions and some were with us into the PL. I would describe them as better than 'average' certainly.

Of course, MM has signed duds, but then so have most managers. However, I will agree that with MM, he never signed a lower league player who then came through to be brilliant and end up at the very top of the PL. But that seems quite rare now for any manager, given the absolute excess of cash that the biggest PL clubs can throw at young teenagers and their families. All divisions outside the PL (and probably the lower third of the PL itself) suffer from talent being locked up on the training grounds of Man U, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, etc.

Most of those guys improved in their time with us I agree, although I never really thought much of Neil Collins. I'll always give him credit as he would always give us 100%, which is more than can be said for other recent players who wore the shirt, but ability wise I thought he was awful.
