So Barrie, what do you make about the recent rumours that Sheffield United’s takeover is now in doubt? Despite spending above their immediate competitors.
I knew the takeover was bollocks about a month back to be honest, the bloke fronting it hasn't a pot to piss in. But they've got PL parachute monies albeit they are using them as loans and have sold players to balance their books, it's hardly something new when a team comes down and blows the division out of the water, Villa and Newcastle did it in 2016/17.

Not a new signing but Alife Doughty has signed a new “long term” contract. Quite the turn up I’d say as he would certainly have interest from Premier League clubs and is certainly one of our best players.

At least gives us a decent negotiating position hopefully when he is sold

Following the game against Sheff Utd on Saturday, apparently Harrison Burrows mentioned that we (Derby) bid £2m for him and he was interested in the move, but then Sheff Utd came in. Shame for us - but glad to know we did show some ambition to bring in a left back (albeit Elder has been excellent so far this season after being persistently injured in the last campaign).

One of a few clubs linked with Jack MacKenzie at Aberdeen. Left Back who was in the latest Scotland squad.

Probably agent-led bollocks.

Looking like a bullet dodged from our point of view. All kinds of shady stuff going around him with the agents and clubs wanting extra fees for him and then this.

Not sure why Hull signed him, loads of clubs were linked but ultimately backed off because of it

16 month ban, being appealed. If ban sticks then supposedly we're covered, don't have to buy him, can release him. Might not however as he'd be a worthwhile purchase in 16 months if very cheap as he's a Prem player in waiting.

Linked with Ryan Kent following his release by Fenerbache. Heckingbottom managed him at Barnsley.

Murmurs that we're in talks to bring Daniel Iversen back to the club who is OoC in the summer.

Woodman has been absolutely diabolical this year, confidence is on the floor, and there was talk that he was looking to move back to London when his contract runs out this summer. Cost us a lot of goals already this season and I'll be glad to get rid, his red card at Stoke was also pathetic.

Ideally, we'll sort the keeper situation in Jan rather than the summer, but probably not that easy.

Hoping for a big overhaul under Heckingbottom, he's massively hamstrung with most of these players. A few are just stuck in the negative Lowe mindset and others are just a bit shit.

We're playing better football and creating more, but bad finishing and keeper errors seem to cost us every week.

Emil Riis is the only one I'd be trying to extend out of the ones out of contract in the summer.

Over the next two windows I'd be trying to move on Woodman, Cornell, Storey, Lindsay, Hughes, Whatmough, Bauer, Whiteman, Ledson, Holmes, Potts, Brady, and Stewart.

That twat Ridsdale will no doubt offer extensions to a bunch of them though. Cheaper than signing new ones.

I've thought about the January window a lot in the last few days. Of course, it is going to be impossible to overhaul the squad at such a time; but Luton do need more changes than normal.

For me, this needs to happen:
Cauley Woodrow - loan out, but still has 18 months on his deal left presumably.
Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu - happy for him to leave permanently if someone comes in for him. He's had barely any gametime and now is the time to move on.
Liam Walsh - loan out, if he's fit, but still has 18 months on his deal left presumably. Terrible signing.
Tim Krul - loan out with a view to not returning as likely out of contract. Get a younger guy in - we have no first team GKs under 32!
Joe Taylor - rumour had it that Huddersfield have bid £2M for him. Let him go for that, he's never had a chance.

In response we need to sign probably 3 loan players and at least 1 permanent signing, including 2 defenders, 1 midfielder and a forward.

In the summer, I'd also recommend the following players leave:
James Shea - time for sentiment is over.
Mads Andersen - loaned out to get regular football... we can't let him go now due to lack of numbers
Victor Moses - short term deal this season presumably, but unless we can get more consistent performances, very expensive for the end result.
Marvelous Nakamba - has really dropped off this season due to injuries, but I think will still have 18 months.
Teden Mengi - he doesn't want to be here, but won't get signed in January due to surgery this week. We need £15M+ for him.
Reece Burke - love the guy, but can't stay fit. Will probably be under contract, so we'll likely keep hold of him.
Allan Campbell - on the way out anyway, out of contract.
Jordan Clark - works hard, so I don't think the current management would let him go, but out of contract.
Jack Walton - what was the point in signing him in the first place? £150K wasted.

Zero chance we get 15m for Mengi. He’s absolutely tanked his value with his play this season and the injury makes it even worse

We’ve signed Erik Pieter on a short term deal. I assume because he’s left footed and we just need a warm body with a reasonable left footed to get us through the Christmas period.

We had him training in the summer. Really highlights just how poor our recruitment has been, we are having to sign 36 year old stop gaps because we havent addressed that Bell is now injury prone and there’s no one to back up Doughty.

Jesus wept. "Short term deal" - are the club too embarressed to say he'll be here for the rest of the season?

I see we're also in for Marquinhos from Arsenal. Rumours of a substantial bid that have gone in a few days ago.

Ridsdale (cuntface) says he expects 3 of the 8 OoC players to sign.

There are actually 9 out of contract, so one must have a 1 year option activated. I'd guess Andrew Hughes, but who knows.

Emil Riis
Jordan Storey
Liam Lindsay
Freddie Woodman
Duane Holmes
Ryan Ledson
Andrew Hughes
Kian Best
Patrick Bauer

Ideally one would be Riis as he's the most valuable in terms of financial worth, but I do expect him to leave. To think we rejected £7.5m for him from Boro once upon a time.

I'd guess one will be Storey, and the other two maybe Woodman & Lindsay. All three are just bang average. Perfect for PNE's mid-table ambitions.

I presume we'll offer the same terms to Kian Best so we get compensation. I guess he'll join an EPL development squad.

Not seen the Marquinhos thing. I see we have been linked with Christ Makosso who is a centre half in Belgium. Seems right footed, we really need some left footed players so not to sure about that.

And then Bakinson from Wycombe, which id be surprised if actually true as hes sub player for Wycombe.
