Supposedly Guidetti is coming in for a medical as well in the next couple of days. Very exciting times to be a Bee at the moment!

No chance, where did you hear that?!

From what I've seen and know of Niles, I wouldn't be holding out for much. He's not made an impact in the games I've seen of him, especially at our place, and has an horrific record at U21 level.

I'm surprised he got a Championship club. Crowley, Bielik and Iwobi would have all been better options in midfield, before you look at Zelalem, etc.

Similarly just one persons opinion but here's some comments from an Arsenal fan who regularly watches the U21 games.

Should be a very good loan for Arsenal and for Ipswich. McCarthy likes his wingers quick and technical, and you'll definitely get that from Maitland-Niles - at least I'm certain that's where he'll be played.

In terms of his strengths, he has quite a few; he's a very competent dribbler - either tricking out of tight spaces or running direct at defenders. Technically he's very strong, and his passing is an underrated asset. He does have a decent finish on him aswell, and likes a shot from outside the area. Perhaps the biggest standout other than his dribbling is his athleticism and work-rate. He always seems to be on the move, and he's also a very tactically astute player - part of the reason why he's been playing in central midfield recently. It's possible that he may play there for you, as he's shown himself to be competent in the middle of the park.

Like most youth players, occasionally his decision making isn't strong, but in comparison to other young players, it's not a big weakness. Most of his weaknesses will show themselves when he does play in central midfield - he's probably not the best ball-winner but he does make up for that with his speed and determined play.

Wednesday signing Jack Hunt on a season long loan from Palace.

Are there any full backs left for us?

Guiedtti would be the signing of the season surely but I can only see him signing for a big Euro club, especially after helping Sweden win the under 21 Championships.

This is a lad that was released on a Bosman from City after being useless at Celtic. I wouldn't draw too much from some tournament appearances in which he mostly just ran about. He's no where near good enough for a big European team IMO.

Tom Ince has signed - what a big f**king signing that is!

The amount of talent, effort and application he showed while on loan here leaves me in doubt that this is the signing of the summer. £4.75million is nothing considering Ipswich rejected nearly that for Daryl Murphy.

So we signed Jazz Richards for about £500k they say, which is unisnspiring- was particularly average on loan last season. We have Jamie O'Hara training with us currently who we need as much as a moose needs a hat stand.
We have a handful of certain starters. Need to sign at least one wide player and another central midfielder, we need another centre back and left back and these are all players we need to start. So its not looking great. Been linked with Joe Bennett today. We are currently sorting out contracts for all our youth players coming through who are on the fringes of the squad- Dembele, Roberts (seems destined to Man City £10m - insane) Hyndman etc etc.
We will wait and see I suppose, but that is also what General Custer said just before the battle of little big horn when the whole of his regiment was wiped out by the Sioux Indians. Not a single survivor.
Happy Friday all :)

In regard to McEachran- he is a strange one- looked an amazing prospect. Next big thing. However I massively question the kids ambition. Had the chance to play Champions League football a few years ago with Villareal onl oan but turned it down to go a Championship side (Middlesbrough?) instead because he didn't want to leave his mates and home comforts. Hasn't really been that great since. Saying all that I would have been chuffed enough if he had come to us

Don't know how to multi quote but if Brentford can get him sorted then he could be one of the best in the league.

Yeah....us, Bristol City and MK Dons are going straight back down.
Crazy how much this league's changed even in the short time since we've been gone. Everyone seems to be throwing around millions for fun

Just from a couple of mates, neither of them ITK or anything, but that's what they've heard.

I don't think it's totally impossible, but it would be a big surprise.

Guidetti it not good enough for a ''top European club'' but I think he is most definitely better than the Championship.

Wonder what wages he'd be after. £10k a week to live in Nottingham John?

Most boring transfer window of my life.

Only credible link so far is Mark Bunn.

Can't really complain after last season but c'mon, give me something.

I will give you Steve Morison if you raise me Kieran Agard :ds:

so i'm seeing a pattern, and i can't wait for the next financial reports

we've spent 3 million on 1 player , albeit a decent one potentially if he still has his 2011/12 form
Derby are spending cash , QPR again are showing thier utter respect for this league and fair play again

Are clubs just thinking fuck it FFP is shit?

To be fair, your signing policy appears to be based on simply using a ouija board with Scrabble letters, and then making ridiculously low offers in the hope you catch another club's CEO when he's pissed or in bed with the manager's whippet.

I reckon you're in hot pursuit of Blackpool and Wigan.

Think it helps that the FFP rules allow more for room next season.

Last season I can't remember any significant spending outside of 2 or 3 clubs.

IT'S HAPPENING

So yeah, absolutey brilliant buy if Ince can show the form he had last season. We really should have no excuse now, should be really up there.

Good to see that weird Wolves fanS ARE still obsessed with us. Players get bid for. A lot more get bid for that you do not hear about. You reject or accept bids. It is not that hard to understand.

Despite paying the extortionate fee for McCormack we also got Matt Smith for £500k - both Fulham or Leeds wouldn't expect us to get him for that little?
My point is- players do get sold for more money than people expect as well as less. In regards to MacDonald -keep toys in pram and calm your face and if your owners are sensible I am sure they will give him whatever contract he wants. Plus... if he is due a new contract and teams are interested... agents are very keen to get their clients name in the papers. So look closer to home ;)

To be fair to QPR (uhh makes me sick saying that).. they are probably going to get £10m for Sterling, £15m for Austin and £5m for Phillips, plus anymore sales. So kind of makes the predicted £7m they've spent seem relatively small.

It's when clubs spend big without seemingly have made any sales beforehand that look stranger - i.e Derby. Though I expect them to sell one of their better players, surely.

FFP goes from £2m losses allowed next season up to £13m the following year, so seems strange it is happening a year early though.

We spent 2 million on Conor Coady, I don't think it's a good thing tbh.

MK Dons have cancelled the contract of winger Danny Green, who is currently in Portugal with Luton Town.

Apparently, Luton made it clear to them that they wouldn't deal with MK under any circumstances.

With the state of some of these transfer fees I'd want about £7m. He's incredible.

Good point, imagine that is a part of it. Also, have teams looked at what's happened to QPR (or rather what hasn't) and just thought, fuck it?

That's the thing. It's not just your big names, that seems the standard fee for any old Championship player this window

Yeah Phil Hay said we looked at him but unsurprisingly he was too expensive plus Prem interest if he were to leave.

Never a goer, that. Not sure what sort of funds we have left now anyway without selling anyone.
