Agreed. If I was any young player, I'd avoid clubs like Derby, Boro, Hull, etc and us and go for clubs where they might get more game time. I suspect both MK Dons and Bristol City will get top PL talent this coming season. Doesn't always work....Boro had that odious - but exceptionally talented - little shit, Bamford, last season. Is he still there?
I disagree with that massively. I guess it depends on how young, but surely you want to be proving yourself good enough for a top Premier League side.
We had Ibe on loan and six months later he was in the Liverpool first team. For example, someone like Joe Gomez could go back to Charlton and comfortably play every week, just as he did last season (nearly), but surely the next step is to step him up another level.
You also have to take into account the quality of coaching that certain player will get at his loan club. Do you think Mourinho would trust someone like Steve Evans with a prospect like Solanke over Paul Clement? I doubt it.
Derby, Boro & possibly Reading will get the pick of the Premier League loans I imagine, purely based on their coach's reputation. It's whether those clubs want said players which will be the defining decision.
