Agreed. If I was any young player, I'd avoid clubs like Derby, Boro, Hull, etc and us and go for clubs where they might get more game time. I suspect both MK Dons and Bristol City will get top PL talent this coming season. Doesn't always work....Boro had that odious - but exceptionally talented - little shit, Bamford, last season. Is he still there?

I disagree with that massively. I guess it depends on how young, but surely you want to be proving yourself good enough for a top Premier League side.

We had Ibe on loan and six months later he was in the Liverpool first team. For example, someone like Joe Gomez could go back to Charlton and comfortably play every week, just as he did last season (nearly), but surely the next step is to step him up another level.

You also have to take into account the quality of coaching that certain player will get at his loan club. Do you think Mourinho would trust someone like Steve Evans with a prospect like Solanke over Paul Clement? I doubt it.

Derby, Boro & possibly Reading will get the pick of the Premier League loans I imagine, purely based on their coach's reputation. It's whether those clubs want said players which will be the defining decision.

Josh MacEachran now confirmed on a 4 year deal.
£750k fee, bit of a risk but potentially an absolute gem of a player who could be worth a lot more in a few years. Very excited about this transfer.

We don't give out many long term contracts, so we clearly believe there is still a good player in there.

Got to be close to our business being finished. If we can bring in one more player, a starting XI striker, then I think we're in great shape for the coming season. Some reports linking us again with Dom Dwyer, he turned us down last summer but might be convinced now.

Chris Eagles is training with us. Can't decide if I'm pleased or not.

My initial reaction was a bit "eurgh what's that dingle twat doing training with us" then it went to "he's shit and done nothing for the last 3 years" and now it's "i'll take anything at the moment"

Guidetti's turned us down (not surprising) and is heading to La Liga it seems with Celta Vigo.

He's definitely talented and Grayson seems to get the best out of players like him, so I'm all for it.

The most interesting news to come out of Wolves in the last week is that a swarm of bees have taken residence in some poor fuckers seat in the Stan Cullis stand...

Sky Sports give Derby 250k to spend for winning a lottery draw... y'know just in case they hadn't spent enough this transfer window already...

Better than when they gave Nottingham Forest one in January... when they were transfer embargoed and couldn't spend it.

Supposedly bid 1.2m for Clayton Donaldson from Brum.. source being The Sun so desperately unreliable but if it's the case then I think that's Micks idea of a replacement for Murphy IMO.

Ross Turnbull close to signing for Leeds. Like him but be good to get him off the wage bill seeing as Adam Davies is doing fine in goal and earns less.

Hearing £1.2m/£2m bid for Donaldson from Ipswich. Don't quite know what to make of that if it's true; he's pivotal to the system we play and has all the attributes for a lone striker, however, £2m for a 31 year-old with one year left on his contract is very persuasive.

Huddersfield have just nicked Dempsey off us :( If it's anywhere near the rumoured £300k fee then that could be the steal of the summer.

Alex Lopez now official.

Now I'm not going to profess we'll be fantastic but we now have a squad able to compete.

Chansiri has fulfilled his promise first hit

Can I retract that bet? You are building a very good squad where as I'll be packing my boots when we head up early August.

I'm starting to worry a bit now. Yes it's still relatively early, but we go away on Sunday and it would of been nice to have had a few faces in by now

Think Sheff Wed have bought very well this summer, hard to rule them out of the promotion race this season.

Delighted with the signing of Demspey, could be a real steal.

About time we invested into lower league youth again.

I'll be shocked if he doesn't do really well for you. Possibly not one to immediately throw into the first team but after a season adjusting to the jump into the Championship he should really be someone you can build a team around.

You must be pretty excited? My mate moved away to New York so I have been following Wednesday to pass bits on to him and I am excited and looking forward to seeing how Wednesday start as a result of that. If I had to pick one non Wolves side to get up it would be Wednesday, this ruins all the shit I used to say to you about your ground but I considered getting a Wednesday season ticket this season when I was considering jacking in playing/managing football on a Saturday as felt that would be easier to do if I had something to do that was football related. Maybe in a few years I'll finally take the plunge as this is the 3rd time I've considered getting some kind of involvement with a Sheff team.

Another week goes past, and still not a signing. Getting slightly pissed off now.

We signed somebody yesterday, mate was in at 7am to sort it as Paul Douglas was at that sky bet fund thing.

Not being announced till Monday, down to the other clubs demands, so suggests it's a loan, so it's either Grant Ward confirmed or somebody else which I'm hoping is Martinez, I mean who else could dictate when we announce it bar a big club like Arsenal.

Mate it's bloody exciting, first pre season in years I've felt we could get back to where we've been before, the top flight, I'm delighted with the quality of players brought in and know for a fact there's more to come, I'm told from a reliable source that Jordan Rhodes was/is a target but not at 12m. Chansiri is ambitious but astute and won't be pushed around with regards to fees and wages hence the deal for McGugan being delayed.

We've got a few more serious irons in the fire, particularly with regards to a striker or two, we lacked goals last perhaps the new creative players can unlock the potential in Stevie May and Sergiu Bus.

If you ever do fancy coming to a game let me know pal.

We're close to signing Jordi Hiwula from City.

Safe to say I haven't the foggiest what he's like.

Doubt it, not sure I'd want him either.
