Set to resign Joe Bennett on a full deal, solid cover

Meh. :dk:

We're apparently going to sign a midfielder by saturday (all rumours point to Ravel Morrisson), and we're interested in James Chester from Albion. As long as he's better than the last Albion reject we signed, I won't mind!

Veretout apparently off to St Etienne and Sinclair has finally signed for Celtic (I know this was 3 days ago, but I hadn't updated so yeah).

How come Joe Bennett couldn't get in your side ahead of Sissoko? He looked dogger on Sunday.

Because Bennett is fucking awful.

Cissokho isn't great, but he had absolutely NO support from Ayew on Sunday, if he isn't consistently exposed all fucking game due to a striker playing on the wing and not doing his defensive duty, he's not a bad player. Besides that, Bennett would have been 3rd choice when Amavi gets back to fitness, thus most people aren't that fussed about him leaving.

Fair enough mate, I think this is definitely Bennett's level as he's done well at Middlesbrough and Brighton previously.

We genuinely haven't signed anyone who you could say proved to be very good in about 4 years. It's an absolute shambles.

Yeah I'd say so, he was utterly awful when played in the Premier League, genuinely not seen a worse left back for us at that level and that is saying something. I saw Jlloyd Samuel playing there for us!

Can you hurry up and take Lescott please?

The Wednesday
Derby 'bid' 7m for Forestieri if you believe their press. More chance of platting fog. They need to double it.... add 5 and then they've no chance. Like swapping Fillet Steak for Sirloin.

Not sure why we've bid for Forestieri. Wednesday would never sell him to us in a million years.

Supposedly us and Norwich have had £2m bids accepted for Gunnarsson.

We've also bid for a mystery right back according to the oracle (Nixon).

Bolasie to Everton for £25m reportedly. Nice £4m windfall for us if that goes through.

In advanced talks with Galloway of Everton. Never heard of the lad but if you watched us on Friday - the quicker we're shot of Dummett the better.
Came through our youth academy, good player. Surprised Everton are willing to let him go. I'm fairly certain last September he was there player of the month when covering for Baimes.

Exiled Robin (a Bristol City blogger) reposting that Palace have supposedly accepted a £25m bid for Bolasie from Everton, which would mean anywhere between £2.5m - £5m for us due to the sell on clause.

So £6.6m for Barnsley from the Stones sell on clause, will be interesting to see how its spent if it is.

It'll be spent on keeping the club's immediate future secure I would hope. Maybe another signing or two, but likely players from lower league clubs we'd be looking to develop and won't cost a lot.

If it's £25m, it's £3.75m. 15% sell on fee. Sky reporting it's rising to £30m.

Sound approach an quite refreshing how teams seem to go about things now

Eunan O'Kane linked with Wigan. Not sure if a loan or transfer, we're 'open to offers' reportidly. Depending on Wigan's aims for the season, he's perfectly good as a lower half or middling Championship midfielder. Particually good a middle 3 rather than a 2.

Is it just me that thinks none of these players are worth what teams are bidding? It's crazy.

So this 7 million "bid" for Forestieri might not actually be genuine, just a smokescreen for another target.

Talisca has apparently said he will only join Wolves on a 1 year contract, bear in mind were spending 25 million euros on him

Yeah.. because we'll agree to that ... :ffs:

Hope we move on and spend that sort of money more wisely. He only wants to sign for us as a stepping stone for his work permit to Liverpool.

Fulham being linked to very few despite having a tiny squad which requires improvements. Not good. Awful owners.

There's a reason I had you to go down, especially since we stole the player that pretty much kept you in the division last season.

Not the worst shout still. The only problem with McCormack is you have to build the side round him. If you do that. He's awesome. The team isn't so awesome though and whenever he out scores nearly all the division, whoever he's playing for never seem to be as good

Don't see that happening with RDM, he's building from the back at the moment by the looks, so by the sounds of it either he'll have to adapt or won't be as good a signing as I hope.

Joe Ledley apparently a Villa target. He's probably one of these too good for Championship, not quite good enough to be a regular Premier League starter kind of players.
