The only journalists I’ve come across that are more accurate I could count on one hand, probably just Phil Hay and John Percy, but they cover a club or a region respectively whereas O’Rourke covers everything.

O'Rourke just copies what he reads on the fan sites of other clubs - a suggestion about Riviere had appeared on our fan site before he posted it, but was rubbished by our ITKs.

He clearly read that we had a free agent striker at the game last weekend and took a punt on who that might be - just guesswork and chancing as SF says.

He clearly also didn't do a very good job at guessing given there were already reports in Greece that it was Karelis!

Sent Jack Stobbs on loan to Livingston until January, never going to make it here and bit of a last chance for him this. Also loaned Matt Penney out to St Pauli in Germany for the season, this lad does have potential and it's a good move for him, despite the fact he'll be working under Jos Luhukay.

We've sold Arvin Appiah, the next 'big thing' from the academy. Mixed feelings as we never got to see what he's about and the general feeling is he's something special, but £8m is a lot of money and keeps the wolves from the door again. That's over £30m from academy players in the last couple of years with Brereton and Burke not doing much, Osborn who is good and now Appiah who is an unknown. Still the best thing about our club and showing no sign of letting up.

We are also demolishing our bomb squad today. Ariyibi, Murphy, Cummings, Bridcutt all gone. Leaves us with a squad of 23, 3 long term injuries (Hefele, Benalouane, Darikwa) and then a few remaining bomb squad (Yacob and Pantillomon). Much better than it was about 3 weeks ago with 40 players on the books.
