We've signed Norweigan CB Leo Ostigard on loan from Brighton for the season. Highly rated by all accounts and spent last year out on loan at St. Pauli in the 2. Bundesliga.

Rumours QPR are interested in Josh Harrop, i'd probably sell if we got over a million.

That's been put to bed, signed a two year extension.

8 goals in all comps last season, time for him to kick on, has all the talent but needs to be effective for the full 90 minutes, good competition in his positions.

Was impressed with <Jamal Blackman> when he was at Wycombe a few years ago.

Yes, definitely a cut above the average loanee, although of course it’s easier to keep clean sheets vs comedy L2 finishing than it is at this level. But yeah, I think most Wycombe fans would have had him back.

QPR sell Eberechi Eze to Crystal Palace for £19.5 million. That's insane money for a player who has never played above Championship level, but a fine boost for QPR.

And Neil Harris releases him 2 years ago as he wasn’t made of the right stuff to play for us. For that, if nothing else, Harris deserves massive criticism

Tabloids are linking Ben Davies to Celtic, Stuttgart & Cologne.

He'd be able to sign a pre-contract with them in January and leave for free in the summer.

If he's not signing on then I think we'll try and get him out of the door in a cut price deal before this window shuts.

Under contract, he's a £10m defender, still only 25, rapid, left footed, great on the ball, reads it really well...

Hope he doesn't go to the SPL, a waste.

Remember the good ol' days when David Beckham was signed by Real Madrid for £30m?

We've signed Tyler Walker from Forest for an undisclosed fee. Pretty happy with that one, was a 1 in 2 striker in League One last season and is still only 23. We were in for him last summer but think we wanted him on a perm and Forest only wanted to loan. Robins gets his man.

Good signing for Coventry. Made some good signings so far I think mostly in that age bracket where you can sell later for big money.

Beginning to think relying on Mick to find players isn’t going to be enough at this level, second summer in a row we have seemingly struggled to recruit - would have liked us to take a similar approach to Coventry.

Happy with Walker, linked with him for a while. Hearing Sheaf deal is close now which should complete our midfield.

Read somewhere the fee is likely below a million as well. Great bit of business if true.

We look likely to spend over that on a right back who only started putting in decent performances for the about the last 8 games of the season and did actually spend more than that on a keeper who took most of the season to stop making huge game losing mistakes. Really have to question what we are doing recruitment wise since coming up to this level.

What are you expecting? Teams at this level are blowing us out of the water, hence why it is such a basket case of a league. Do not forget we are in a pandemic and stand to lose £3m if there are no fans in stadiums this season.

I tend to agree that we need to start taking a bit of a Peterborough approach rather than what G Jones wanted to do and sign experienced journeyman, but everyone comes at a high price and big wages. I want to try and work it out, but they themselves are probably breaking the salary cap already.

The way to go is indeed sign up and coming players and sell them on, that is the only way we will progress as a club before the new stadium is built, but money is not a readily available commodity at the moment:

You are agreeing with me essentially here! Just saying we need to be smarter with our recruitment than we have been over the past 2 summer windows where we have seemingly struggled to recruit the players. Think we need to look at different markets and perhaps get on the data analytics wave that Brentford led and has now become more widespread to help us bridge the gap financially. The problem is as you point out, going for players that other clubs will “blow us out of the water” for.

We obviously have limited funds available to us but we are still looking to spend a big fee, for us in any case, on a player like Bree so we have something available seemingly. Mick has always been able to spot a player but are we doing all we can help him out is my question.

We probably have one of the oldest squads in the league at the moment so we are clearly struggling to attract that younger sort of player to develop and move on.

Tom Lockyer signing for us on a 3 year deal from Charlton apparently. Centre half which is needed.

Played for Bristol Rovers before Charlton but must admit don’t remember him all that well

Welsh full international so I dare say that's a good signing.

From a quick browse it sounds like he is a steady eddy lower championship level centre half. So firmly within what we need.

NJ interview was quite interesting after the game. Pretty categorical that we aren’t very interested in loans which I agree with but clearly wasn’t the strategy last season, probably the reason so many PL academy type names have been linked with us and then not come about as we want permanents and they likely want loans.

I'd have been happy for us to take a punt on Tyler Walker

We are apparently in for Hibs and ex-PNE winger Daryl Horgan, according to a couple of Scottish papers.

Didn't rate the guy myself but he might be able to do a job.

I think he's a good L1 player who will have the occasional decent game in this league.

Ivan Toney conformed, £5m rising to £9.5m based on various bonuses.

Always makes me nervous when huge fees like that are spent, but clearly a guy the team feel will improve us, should be an exciting season even if some of our bigger players go.

Potentially great news for us as it surely makes the likelihood of Watkins leaving even greater, especially as he’s been absent from the last couple of friendlies...

A big cash injection now would be huge for a club our size.

I know its bot brentfords fault it's the english market but forgive me for saying stuff like this but when you can go continental and sign players like rodrigo for 27 million or Watkins for 25 that's where the market is flawed imo, 22 spanish caps or ollie watkins? Yeah watkins could end up being the next big thing but it's never worth the gamble imo

Also the reason why brentford will be this seasons promoted team is because they find these bargain players and turn them into the championships best

£1.8m is a bargain these days? Not to say he's not a good signing, but if that qualifies as a bargain we have no chance. He had a fairly middling record in L2 and then the first couple of seasons at Brentford. To go from that to £27m is some progression.

I wouldn’t say Watkins had a middling record in L2 considering he was played on the left hand side and he scored 22 in 55 starts. Plus at Brentford he played on the left and it’s only this season he’s been used solely through the middle.

At the end of the day, when anyone scores over 25 goals in the Championship they become hot property, regardless of their previous seasons. He’s only 24 so whoever gets him will have a player that can get better and better for a number of seasons to come.

The Spanish player that Leeds have signed is 29 years old and has never played in England so I’d argue that he’s a bigger gamble for that outlay, but time will tell.

Also, Watkins could potentially be sold at a profit, Rodrigo can't.

Rodrigo also only got 4 goals last year, and 8 the year before
