Looking at that Bradford pitch this is going to need people prepared to dig in and fight. Just hope the team will show some heart at least tonight even if we ultimately lose.

Great result for us that, performance wasn't too bad either. Thought we played quite well, looked more threatening than usual, Cambridge had chances but I thought we just about deserved the win. We were fortunate with the goal, didn't look like it'd fall for us but when it did, it was taken well by Carter. Vancooten was man of the match for me, thought he played well at the back and made a great block to deny Cambridge at the death.

4 points from 6 against Cheltenham and Cambridge - would have snapped your hand off for that a few days ago.

Just seen the pitch at Newport. Speaking from experience last season, they’re going to have a huge backlog of games come the end of the season because that pitch looks like it would cause games to be called off even after a week of 30 degree sun!

Yes, you recovered well from your 'covid' layoff.....

It's ok they are playing two games in two days on it next week.

Was an even first 15 minutes but Bradford now taking control. Gut check time for some of these Vale players now. Needs better communication on set pieces than Bradfords last corner where we were a little lucky.

Looking at Bradford down their right side is where we can have some joy I think.

Down to the bare bones for us tonight. Just Magnus Norman and the youth tram making up our bench. We must have about 11 players out either through isolating, injury or personal reasons.

Can only see one outcome and that’s Harrogate taking 3 points.

An ugly game of football which neither set of players understandably can control the ball on that pitch but am pleased with the application from the Vale team. Just need to keep concentration.

We don’t do clean sheets. Probably defend this out until 90 +6 and go to sleep from a corner

We look arsed, Rodney needs to remember he’s up front though as whenever we get crosses in no one is there. Pope would be licking his lips at Hursts delivery but Amoo didn’t make the run.

Few chances, Fitz nearly rifled a 30 harder in and Brown made a cameras save otherwise been dull.

Can we keep it going though with no options on the bench.

Need to target their right back though as he looks very nervy.

Looks like two poor teams to me, not helped by a pitch that still has snow on it. Both clubs should be so much better than this. Sad.

We are winning but you can just sense a Walsall goal. Adebayo is going to bag he's winning every single header.

We've been playing with essentially 10 men because Ryan Loft is clearly injured but our manager refuses to take him off.

Good game at FGR. Helps that Crawley are winning obviously.

Two sides trying to play and trying to get forward.

Rovers break really fast. We'll have to watch that but we've had a few changes to add to the goal we've got without really troubling the keeper.

The challenge now is at some point Bradford are going to make changes and I really hope Askey is ready to react quickly.

Re Fitz’s shot that might be the way to go just shoot on sight. On that hard pitch and probably getting harder as the temperature drops one could easily have a funny bounce.

Yeah Crawley look a good side, our problem is we give the ball away in dangerous areas, Winnie of all people being at fault in the build up to their goal.

Going to need to pull the trigger a bit quicker when space opens up.

Disappointed at missing the opportunity to go top of the league in the new year. I know Harrogate were winning but we were only eight minutes in and I still felt we were good enough to come back.

On the plus side though we don't have to play on a poor pitch and should have a stronger squad when this game is replayed.

You feel for the Harrogate fans who will have come for probably their last chance to see their team play for a while.

It’s good for us. We were clearly struggling defending the worst affected end of the pitch and 1-0 down, probably would have been 2 or 3 down by the time we got to change ends. We have players missing who’ll possibly be back for the rearranged game.

I know that conditions can change and it's probably colder now than it was when the pitch was passed at 5pm but you've got to wonder how this happens, don't think I've ever heard of a match called off for a frozen pitch eight minutes in following a pitch inspection before... waterlogged pitches yes because rain can change a lot in a couple of hours but not frozen.
