Must be a good ref today at Vale Park.

Ref is Sunny Singh Gill who is a Sikh and we have Mal Benning who is the only Sikh player in this league. There’s one for your conspiracy theorists…

Humongous goal from Exeter. Scores stay as they are, Sheff Wed can only reach 93 points, so 1 win from 3 for both Plymouth and Ipswich will do it. Plenty more twists and turns im sure

There won’t be. We are totally fucking dreadful. It’s a disgrace how we have played today.

I don’t know how they’ve played but failure to win promotion from the position they were in is bordering on a sackable offence for their manager.

Morecambe back in front now.

Everyone's written off Morecambe for survival. All other results going for them, adds an additional side in there

1-1. Too little, too late. Even if we win today, the results haven’t gone for us. We really needed Posh to beat Ipswich. Plymouth have been very fortunate with their run in and won’t fuck that up.

We’re only just in our game there, hanging on at 2-1 down but you feel one more would kill it off and we haven’t really created much at all.

I think that’s the autos sorted.

Plymouth and Ipswich both lead by 2, its on Sheff Wed to find a winner in final 20 minutes. If they dont, with the game in hand top two have, thats them with one foot over the line.

Get in!!!!! Massive win, comfortable in the end but Christ we needed that. Doesn’t changed the obvious that these downed tools, had we played like that recently we’d have been miles clear by now. Wife came for the first time today and was buzzing about how hard Massey works… that says it all!

Well it was obviously job done at half time but I wish we'd kept up the intensity second half, there was a chance to get 5 or 6 there. Can't complain too much though, safety confirmed!

Sounded like a tough one to take. Missed a few easy chances, and to come away with nothing seems harsh. But that's been our story of late, and considering we have no one who can score a goal then its no surprise.
On to next week and getting thrashed at Ipswich!

Top 10 & positive goal difference. Crazy to be in this position with a great run of form over the past month or so.

Well played Lincoln, spot on performance. Regan Poole MOTM for LCFC, some very solid and brave tackling, Sorensen probably second place.

That's our season gone.

Oh well, that's the first time in what, 5 or 6 seasons that we get the joy of a couple of dead rubbers at the end of the season - can't complain.

I fancy you lads to do well next season if you keep most of your team together. I wouldn’t mind pinching a couple from you though! Mandriou and Poole I really like.

Two mentions of Poole above. He is so consistent week in week out. We've had offers in for him previously (reported from Sunderland), but he will be leaving on a free in the summer (99% certain he will not sign a contract). To continue to put in those performances, knowing he won't be with the club, shows the type of person he is.

We're actually going to have a big change of players as loans go back (4 starting today Virtue, Rushworth, Boyes, Shodipo plus others), and most of our back line are out of contract

We had many players out today but still put in that type of performance. Duffy only starting his 2nd game and Sorensen a different player during this good run.

Positive signs for next season, but lots of players to go out and come in

Yeah, plenty of promotion teams have been built off the back of a solid defence so if LCFC can get a bit more prolific up front then who knows.

As Yeo says, it's crazy that we're now 10th with a positive goal difference. Obviously it'll not take a lot to slip down into the bottom half but it's been a good end to the season so far.

Another excellent result with 11(?) out injured, had 7 home grown players in the squad today as well. The last few games have shown that despite the lower quality of replacements, they're able to slot into a system and contribute and fair play to MK for that because he's squeezing everything out of what is an unbalanced squad with not many goals in it. Today's average first XI and squad age was also the youngest in the EFL this season.

Quite how Sorenson has turned into a hybrid of Zanetti and Cafu in the last few games I don't know.

Relieved at that. Fans in fairness got behind the boys and Crosby from minute one and we played some good stuff.

Massey was like a Duracell bunny and he’d been one of the lazy ones under DC!

Rovers never threatened at all really and it felt fairly comfortable.

Great to see the whole stadium applaud Nick Anderson which was classy.

Should be us about there now, to get relegation we have to lose both, MK win both, Cambridge and Oxford win all three plus GD swing.

Lot of mixed feelings though as you can’t disguise these same players downed tools against Burton, Cambridge and Accrington and so it’s torn us up a bit.

Clearly though something wasn’t right.

Comfortable win in the end. Could and should have won by 4 or 5.

Win our next two games (Accy and Fleetwood at home) and we can rest our first team at Bristol Rovers on the last day ahead of the playoffs.

Even by our recent standards we were absolutely shit today. . Like what could happen if you let an unmarked Alfie May run riot?

Shambles from us today we would have probably got beat by any L2 side playing like that. Story of our season though we play well against the top sides and struggle against the ones at the lower end.
What was with the balls today seemed none were pumped up enough, or maybe they lost air on that bumpy pitch?

Oh, I think we’ll most likely replicate that tactic next week.

No idea but that’s probably the best the pitch has played since September! It was far worse and has hampered us. At one point there was loads of sand on it.

Blimey i'd hate to have seen what its been like before. I watched on ifollow and pretty much every time the ball ran along the ground or someone tried to run with it, it took some noticeable bobbles.
No excuses though we were poor from start to finish and only managed one shot on target (contrary to the online stats, Coburn definitely got one 2nd half which was about the only thing he did all game)

At least now we can relax and give the likes of Tommy Mac and Plant a decent go on the pitch for the remaining games without any worries of relegation,

Either way as happy as I am we won today fuck each and every one of these who downed tools and cost a great man in DC his job!
