Thought it was gonna be typical Argo when we went a goal down after 3 mins. Took the lads 25 mins to get into their stride but once we did I thought we ended the first half strongly, 2nd goal was well taken.

Second half was just game management really, turned into a scrappy affair, with a well taken goal from Azaz.

I thought Vale gave us a good game. Lots of huff and puff in the second half, don’t think the ref helped the rhythm of the game with his constant nitpicking especially around set pieces. Thought Conlon looked tidy, Massey looked a world away from the player who got promoted with Wigan.

101 points. Champions. I was a bit to young to appreciate it in 03/04. Got a bit emotional at full time I must admit. An incredible season, that doesn’t come around very often.

Will be watching the play offs with interest, Sheffield Wednesday deserve it but that’s not how football works unfortunately, as Notts County almost found out earlier on against Boreham Wood.

You're not wrong about Massey. Been a massive letdown this season his performances. Doesn't ever seem to beat his man or offer much in terms of delivery in all honesty.

Congrats to Plymouth though, absolutely fantastic what you've achieved this season and was pretty cool to see a title presentation at our ground. Who knows one time in the future might get to see it being us (stop laughing everyone). Being able to bring Finn Azaz off the bench should be illegal having that quality to call upon.

Thanks all for the nice messages, such a relief to stay up and was a rather horrible last 15 or so minutes updating MK Dons Twitter page while at the game as they seemed to be peppering the Burton goal.

Our game was relatively straightforward and we always looked in control which I think is one of the few times I’ve felt like that this season (sweetly, Boro at home was another). We played very patiently and waited for the opportunities to come then once ahead we managed the game well.

Forest Green sadly (or fortunately for us) are nothing like the side promoted last season. They just offered nothing which made our day so much easier.

Superb atmosphere once the whistle at Dons went (Morecambe were basically down by then anyway). Just a great day.

Just as a completely unimportant aside....what was Matty Taylors goal chalked off for? Ref pointed for a goal, goal music played, tannoy announced the scorer and even flashed up on the score on my phone. Sat down awaiting the kick off to see the keeper taking a kick. I've watched the replay and it looks like the ref points to the centre circle for a goal and there was no foul...Taylor wasn't close to anyone. A bizarre end to a bizarre few months.

Was weird, even Sky and Plymouth reported the goal! Their defender is stood there frustrated and everyone seemed to think goal. Then the keeper takes the kick.

Odd one.

We managed to make 7 subs today too, is that a record?
Just waiting for MK and/or Northampton fans demanding a points deduction...

Massey has been a poor signing, half arsed most of the time but to be fair actually ran about a bit more than usual today!

Conlon hasn’t made the step up as we’d have hoped, one of the best midfielders at league two level and he was one we’d felt would take to league one well but hasn’t really managed it, so one footed as well! That said he was out with a bad injury for over 6 months and didn’t get a full pre season so may benefit next season.

That’s a great effort, kudos to Barton for that. Not sure how they managed it mind. Would have caused chaos if it impacted Bolton’s league position but I suspect it’ll just be a slap on the wrists.

We used 38 players in the league this season, so lots of options to pick a team from. Unfortunately most turned out to be shit.

What a day and what a hangover but it’s totally worth it, nerves were tested but the boys pulled through and smiths goal was a cracking finish, still can’t believe it now, the footballing gods were certainly looking down at us.

Commiserations to fgr, accy, morecambe and mk on relegation but so relieved it wasn’t us.

Looking forward to next season already with a much changed lineup from this season with so many out of contract.

Up the u’s and always KTF.

What an ending to our season - fortunately I had the foresight to heavily back Peterborough making the play offs at 4.5 over us which has essentially paid for my season ticket and away membership for this season.

The last game was very typical of our season and Derby County in its current state - joint worse finish in our 139 year history which is tough to take as I felt the players don’t deserve that mantle.

Nevertheless, I’m really looking forward to next season and seeing how we can build and develop the squad over the summer. We have heard there are constructive and positive discussions to loosen our restrictions going into next season, hopefully there is an opportunity to reinvest in the first team and the club will look far more complete and professional going into next season. Even if it’s much of the same, I expect us to have a much better run at recruitment this season, knowing we have a club to watch next season, so it will be a completely different side - I would expect anywhere between 10-15 signings. The club has a whole will probably be looking to recruit 30 plus players for the various academies too, who have been severely impacted by events in the last three years.

Roughly 100 matches of time for U23s is way too low by our standards.

We've not had many good quality youngsters through lately - Bennett is looking good and likely to be the regular right back next season but Worman, Okadina and Simper have not kicked on as hoped, and Ibsen-Rossi (who looked excellent in the handful of games he played) has spent most of the season injured.

Besides, blooding 17-yr-olds when you are really struggling can be very destructive...

Much hope invested in the batch who will be 18 next season: McConnell, Yearn, Jobe and Hoddle were all part of our FA Youth cup quarter finals team that beat Chelsea and pushed Arsenal close and we have high hopes for all four becoming regulars in a year or two.

To be honest ours would be a lot lower if we hadn’t been forced into playing Aaron Donnelly on loan from Forest so much.

It will be a lot higher next season with a good number coming through from the academy not just James Plant who has taken to senior level well. So long as they’re our academy players am good with it. Less keen on it being some U23 loanee though. That’s assuming some Premier League academy doesn’t poach them, already rumoured Forest are sniffing around Jack Shorrock (16 year old who came on for us yesterday).

You should be top 3 next season. You managed to get together a pretty decent team with restrictions, so without you'd expect you'll be there or thereabouts. Poor when we played you at your place but looked much improved when you came to ours. From a selfish point of view it's a great away day in 40 minutes drive down the A50.

Not said it yet but congratulations to Plymouth on winning the title. Always had a soft spot for them since I worked down there and I thought “fuck me it’s a long drive down here” and you boys travel everywhere in big numbers.

Best team won it - and best runners up in Ipswich who went on an unbelievable run.
