Beat Colchester - the manager said we never threatened them.
Beat Newport - the manager said we went there for a point.
Beat Scunthorpe and the fans said we are shit. Probably the truest comment from the three wins but I have a feeling we are not as shit as previous results suggest.

A totally different attitude from the players since Calderwood was sacked.

FGR fans - try to justify your #14s very abrupt change in behaviour when sat on the deck when he realised there was a chance it wasn't just a fk and Pope was being called over. Go. I'm embarrassed for you having watched that. If a Vale player play acted in that manner I'd seriously hope Askey or the squad would fine them and Askey would mention it in the local press.

Ebou Adams. Good player, complete c***. Much reviled by Orient fans.

Our home form is terrible, fan base is divided with quite a few staying away and on top of that we're a small club anyway. We're hardly the first ever club at this level to get around 1400 home fans on a Tuesday night tbf.
so looks like EU soyboy Vincey's new stadium won't be needed now....far too large and grand for a Conference pub team whose home fans could barely fill just one of our modest stands......twas ( and probably still is) all about about becoming a super rich, mega-landlord, of his hi-tech business park concept but since we're really out now I expect the generous subsidies from Brussels are no longer in the offing....the football always was a red herring.

Salford had 1,292 home fans last night. Yet they can afford James Wilson? Something is not right there.

As long as they carry on spending and carry on losing, things will sort themselves out there in time

Agree with that, can’t see much wrong with either decision.

With regards to the Crewe game, that first penalty was bloody soft!
The sendings off were probably justified. It was the other 28 fouls he gave against us, of which I would say half were wrong. The players were getting more frustrated as he literally penalised us for every single challenge.

It was actually quite funny tbf. It needed it as there is sod all else to laugh about for us atm. Kettle should have got our sponsors motm, not Adams (lol).

For a player who spent more time on the floor then on his feet and then gave away a pen to get motm was trolling at it’s finest.

Let's not forget Rooney, Andrade and O'Connor too. Pity it wasn't Stevenage at home really rather than a team with incredible away support

Doesn't help when the manager seems to criticise the supporters ?

Maybe he is right but when you stop winning things like that turn fans against the manager ..

No way should Pope be booked for pointing out the cheating mardarse. Clark has no sympathy and shows he still has a lot to learn before he is as good as Gibbo

FGR players were like the Cooper Swindon sides though and played Kettle like a fiddle, I didn't see it until Beadle pointed it out but their lads reaction to ensure Pope saw red was farcical, he held his head about 10 seconds after! The penalty was a dive too.

Pope though is 34 though and should know better with seconds and a free kick into the box of the game left. The first yellow was harsh as it wasn't intentional.

Clarkes Red looked one at the time, it is hard to see from the camera angle as to how high it was (if just late surely a yellow) but I was expecting the red to come out so likely correct, that was plain idiotic but he is much younger.

It has been our Achilles heel this season, game management and has cost us at Mansfield, Orient and Salford which could haunt us come May and nearly did last night. Superb 75 minutes or so but need to learn the lessons if we want the top 7 spot.

Please watch our third and winning goal. Unless you are dedwardp of course!

Now that was a bit of class... Don't want to take away anything from the goal but some of them Colchester tackles were shocking so no wonder their fans kicked off behind the goal.

Seems like that small loan spell with Chorley earlier this season has really helped Charles Vernam. Looks a completely different player now.

How's Harry Davis getting on there btw? How you finding things with Ian Holloway?

You're failing to take into account the thousands of fans they're going to attract from the M5 corridor from Tewkesbury right down to North Bristol.

It must be true, and FGR fan (not Chris, I hasten to add) told me about it on here about 4 years ago...

Also is this shitty weather ever going to end?!

That's the 3rd game in a row now where the wind has ruined it and apparently another storm is on the way for the weekend. :ffs:

Yep, his PR skills aren’t great, to say the least. When you’re winning you can get away with it, when you’re not fans turn very quickly.

His post match interview wasn't great, he had a real abrasive attitude and seemed a bit arrogant to the questions asked.

Davis is alright, getting injured then not really got back in the squad. We have 4 central defenders and I would out him 4th choice.

Holloway is a breath of fresh air. Under Jolley we played long boring hoofball which was effective until teams worked us out then we had no idea. Limbrick got us playing nice passing football but we didn't go anywhere and had no attacking threat.

Holloway has come in and got us playing nice attacking passing football which is a joy to watch. We concede a lot more now but we also score more which is what he said he wants, he doesn't want dull 1-0 wins which is fair enough.

Hopefully next season he will get more of his type of players in and we will be even better as at the minute the players are playing to his style but you can tell some are not good enough for it causing the defensive weakness as we give simple passes away.

Delighted for Charlie Vernam. He is just oozing confidence now. Up until recently, he'd try and beat a man once and you'd see his head drop and that it'd be from him other than a sporadic flash of hope before being subbed off and then not getting into the team for weeks. The loan spell with Chorley obviously helped, but I'd bet good money that what he really needed was a manager to put his arm round him and tell him he has a licence to get on the front foot and most importantly, not let it get to him when doesn't beat his man.

I'd have been more worried about keeping him in recent seasons, but I reckon having Ollie here will be a big factor in hopefully tying him down contractually for another year or two.

Also, let's enjoy Glennon while we've got him Town fans as he isn't gonna be with us or in L2 next season.

Did you see his goal against Stevenage a few weeks back as well?

Aye Glennon is excellent we have been blessed at left back this season, I thought Gibson was one of our best and most consistent players this season until he left and was disappointed he wasn't coming back, but Glennon seems even better.

Oh and the most annoying thing last night was whoever our commentator was. Didn't have a clue who half the players were. He thought Hewitt scored the second goal (took John Tondeur texting Gritton to say it was Verman who scored!), the amount of times Glennon was on the ball and he was saying it was Green. Anyone listening on the radio would have thought Green was excellent when in reality he was as useless as ever and Glennon was the actual good player. Don't know who he was but particularly obvious he hasn't watched us much this season nor can he read numbers on shirts.

Yeah, I liked Gibson too. That's another benefit of Holloway there though. Our loan signings are probably gonna be a lot better under him. He was bringing in the likes of Seamus Coleman when he was at Blackpool. I've got a Blackpool supporting mate who reckons that signing pretty much enabled them to get promotion the Premier League.

Awful from us tonight. Said to the lads I stand with that Swindon would do us on the counter, they just had too much quality going forward to keep leaving them man to man.

Last 2 games have seen the ‘shit football is alright when you win’ argument really hammered home. As it stands now I wouldn’t want Curle managing us next year (contract up in the summer) and it’s a bit reactionary but I think we’ve got a serious battle on to hold on to our playoff spot.

Positives from tonight...ummm the atmosphere was good from both sets of supporters...that’s about it

Keith Curle doesn't do promotions, the only thing his kind of football is any use at is stabilizing lower placed teams that are doing poor.

From the side stand angle I saw it from it looked a definite yellow. Knew he couldn't track the runner so reached out and deliberately clipped the back of their heel. Very strange really, it's like he wanted booking.

Something posted earlier has just reminded me. Dale Vince. Not only is the vegan thing inflicted on the away fans vis à vis pies but you can only have your tea/coffee etc with soya milk. I mean for fucks sake.

You can bring your own stuff though, quite a few of us do. Those milk packets from maccy d's etc do the job.

If you bought the Maccy D in with the milk, would you be kicked out for bringing meat in?

What was the home reaction when he first brought in those blanket in your face changes?

Mixed. Some anger obviously, some didn't really care cos they didn't buy food anyway and some kiss Vince's arse due to him pumping money in so will accept anything he does.

No. You can bring in anything you want. Vince just doesn't want to sell it.

Others have replied using the same words I would have used. Davis was/is steady and was playing OK until he got injured, not likely to get back in unless we have an major injury crisis at centre back. Although he may well be impressing in training and get his chance again sooner.

Holloway has been a breath of fresh air, I have been pleasantly surprised with our football since his arrival. Everyone and everything at the club seems to be on the up, still in the 'honeymoon' period, but it looks like it's going to be a good finish to the season and who knows what next season will bring.
