I dunno where to begin. Yes, Wrexham are a good team, with 3 or 4 particular stand out players but there was a good 20-25 minute spell over the arse end of the first half and start of the second half where we were right in that.

Hussey/Evans fock up could of killed it completely on the majority of other matchdays. We did well to claw it back to 2-1 straight away from a great, well worked routine.

We then had them rattled for a while, especially that first 10 mins of the second half. They looked shaky at the back a fair few times this looks like it could be an issue for them against the top teams.

Daniels gets fouled and we were chasing our arse completely. Lost all shape, subs and tactics went to shit and then Foulkes drops a clanger to well and truly put it to bed.

Fully expected to lose but i dont know how to feel. At 3-1 down i’d of probably took the final whistle and moved on. That last 20 minutes was an absolute shambles all round - especially Sadler.

gotta get a result at Crewe.

Sutton 0 Gillingham 1

Omar Sowumni pondered on the ball a second too long which gifted Gillingham the only goal of the game.

Sutton asserted some pressure throughout the game, but Gills had more than enough defensively to ride out the game.

We’re still a work in progress after a big squad overhaul in the summer.

I can see what Sadler is trying to do, we may be one or two players short to get the job done at the moment.
There were some encouraging signs when we went forward today but the defenders let us down…badly!

Thought Walsall were a decent team. Just lacked that final finish which I thought they'd have with Johnson up top.

Wasn't a pretty performance but a needed 3 points. Midfield is so much better with Luke Young in, not as good as Cannon but his work rate and desire makes a massive difference.

We will score a lot of goals this season, even without Mullin so far, can't see where a clean sheet is coming from

Charlie Austin & Troy Deeney? Young up and coming strike force you going for then.
I don’t think either can last 90 minutes so to have them rotating at, say, 60 minutes would be effective.

We carried our fantastic home form on, once again for the 3rd game, despite actually taking the lead this time we were pretty poor 1st half and Newport probably edged it. 2nd half we were much better though, played fast attacking football, created plenty of chances and scored some good goals. Some massive positives today, Demetriou so dominant in both boxes, almost felt sorry for him scoring twice against them, he didn't celebrate though. Tabiner and Powell I thought were excellent in midfield, so creative today. Tracey is very raw, flashes of brilliance but needs to improve his final product. Great to finally get a few attackers on the score sheet aswell, particularly Nevitt who must have thought he would never score after hitting it straight at the keeper from a yard out just before his goal.

Newport were as I would expect, physical and direct. 1st half we struggled with there press, but 2nd half I think they tired and we seemed to just play around them with ease.

Young whipper-snappers when compared with City's Matt Derbyshire.

Salford tried to get in the ear of the referee from the start, moaning and chirping, claiming every challenge was a foul. Horrible bunch. Pleased Grimsby won. Conteh looks a very good player at this level, and only 20(?) and the much maligned Eisa took his 2 goals very well

If there was one game we really didn’t want after our dodgy start it was this one, but then I had no idea just how shit this Salford side is.
No way they are going up this year again which is brilliant news for football.

Conteh will be gone in January so we are just enjoying him while he’s here.
Absolutely ridiculous player for this level fuck knows how we convinced him to come here on a 3 year deal, probably the best bit of transfer business Hurst has ever done.

Funny game. Stockport wiped the floor with us and could have been 3 up before we got out of 1st gear. If we ignore all of the chances they missed, last year's Andy Cook would have seen a 4-1 win for us. Stocky won't go all season like that and look a top 3 for me.

2 draws away and 2 comfortable home wins - 1 in the league and 1 over grimsby in the league cup setting up an away tie at sheff weds in the next round while scoring 9 in the process isn’t to be sniffed at.

Wasn't impressed with us or Bradford tbh.

Some weird scores knocking about the SkyBet Divsion 2 on the whole looking at the scores at FT.

I hope you're right but I disagree tbh. I think we look worse than last season. Crying out for a CF until Wootton comes back.

Much better that. Glennon and Hunt out for Amos and Holohan, a downgrade on technicality for sure but the latter pair are hardier and it did the trick tonight. Gnahoua out for Vernam too. All changes worked well so fair play to Hurst, however I'm still not convinced by the front line.

A massive positive being that just as we're looking a bit panicky and you're thinking that Salford are somehow gonna wheedle their way back in with 10 men we go and do something that we failed to do time and time again last season and kill the game by going two ahead.

There have been plenty of same old same old style comments in the early matches but perhaps this lot of players can find that killer instinct we lacked so often last season.

We were all over the place at times tonight because of the injuries, I actually can’t believe we’ve lost Kilgour for the season.

I sorta agree but still think you'll be top three. I think we've got some talented players in our squad but the formation and tactics are completely not suited to them.

That was a good game at Crawley tonight that the ref was doing his best to muck up. That rule about if it hits the ref and the ball is lost? How about if it hits his foot and still goes to the intended player? Or how about when a player comes into contact running for the ball being a yellow but a deliberate trip when a player leaves you far behind isn't. He aggravated both sets of players.

Lovely goal for our second. Adam Campbell at the heart of it. Winning the ball high up the field a quick one two and sliding in Orsi to place it in the far corner.

We also hit the far and had a few other chances but Dons are a good side and will probably shout they deserved something from the game. Their front to will cause problems for most teams in the league.

Kicked off at the end between the players. Dons wanted a penalty (right down the other end so no idea)in the 97th minute but ref waved it away and it seemed to be an arguement between attackers and defender after the whistle.

Good game, good crowd, good goals, good action. Football can be a good game...when you win.

Only reason we did not win tonight was the disruption from all those injuries, we look incredibly dangerous if not wasteful but gave absolutely everything.

If we’ve lost Kilgour for the season that’s genuinely potentially devastating for our chances this season, JR will have to get spending for a replacement.

Not many (if any) of our lot would get into that Stockport team.

I didn't watch the game but a very good result, hopefully this should be where we start to kick into gear - just in time for Mulls to be back in a month or two.

Statswise this is more like our usual game - less possession but more attacks and more on target.

According to our gaffer, Deeney is a good mate of his. Could explain his presence tonight. Maybe he’s coming here.
