Well. Don’t take your chances and you get punished. Vale were dire and offered little to the game, but our own downfall not taking any of the numerous chances and then trying to shut up shop final 10.

If we back this up at Rochdale then it can be considered a good point. Obviously Tranmere will be disappointed but for them it's one point closer to promotion and they gave up no ground to us.

Neither team really showed any sustained quality in the game and probably a draw about right.

Mansfield controlled the entire game up untill the red card for O’Toole, we were very wasteful particularly in the first half but played some good football.

I think O’Toole went to stop whatever was occurring but you don’t do that by putting a opposition player in a headlock. The penalty looked incredibly harsh it looked like they smashed the ball at our player from close up.

Really? It was your only chance of note all game.

We missed two sitters and various half chances. Poor finishing cost us big time.

We were far superior to newport, that’s a daft win to give away, but the red and the penalty were accurate from the ref

Bit better from us second half, probably a draw about fair.

Sutton the same as they were in the NL. Give up possession but work very hard, lively forward line, well organised, I'm not surprised they're up there but christ almighty for a big strong side they don't half go down a lot.

Draw is a solid enough result for us, point gained bearing in mind 3 important players out. Having said that, I don't think Lee has quite nailed it in terms of forward play. Still a bit pedestrian at times. And a bit predictable.

Got to agree with all the comments of tranmere and vale.
There was very little quality on show.
Tranmere 2 bits and scored from 1
Us 1 bit and a lovely goal.

I need to rewatch the penalty because I heard the arm may have been away from the body? Really disappointed in O’Toole and throwing that away though.

12 unbeaten mind.

Piss poor from us today, was a bit like the first hour of the Rochdale game and first half at Sutton last week only difference being today we didn’t improve. JMT going off injured is a bit of a worry too.

We’re still in a great position obviously but there’s been a few games of late where well organised teams that press us high have caused us to run out of ideas and look a bit toothless. We don’t really seem to have any game changers on the bench.

Another good day for Oldham.
yep - good day for them, Rochdale and Walsall

horrendous day for Carlisle and Scunthorpe though.
surely Millen will be gone before Carlisle's next match (although i really hope not)

The one off the line and the one Wilson sliced when hall crossed the freekick back in (whilst getting his shirt pulled btw)?

I can't recall many Tranmere chances better than either of them, the one on one early on aside.

We’ve just beaten 2 of the poorest teams in L2 3-0 - Scunny and Carlisle. I’ll keep me counsel until we’ve played - and beaten - a few better sides than those 2.

Back into the POs, though. Getting Louis Reed back has been a huge boost and Jack Payne is ready to play again.

One to keep an eye on - Ricky Aguiar. He’s going to be a good player.

Tranmere were fucking gash. We deserved a point. Great end.

May have been shite but we were better than you. Think you had one shot on target all game.

We’re sleepwalking to a playoff finish. And that’s if we’re lucky.

I felt like neither team deserved a win. Thought Tranmere were poor for 2 nd in the league and didn't offer anything apart from the goal. We didn't play brilliantly but felt like we were equal to Tranmere.

I've just said something similar in the promotion thread. Very difficult to tell how the change of system has affected things as both Scunny and Carlisle were so bad. Reed was class today today Aguair looks like the player Gladwin could have been. Very promising and looking forward to having Jack Payne back.

Didn’t see any of today’s game cause of work, points a decent result for us baring in mind has few injuries and by sounds of it we were terrible first half. Keeps our little mini unbeaten run going.

On a side note I did see what the lads did for DC and thought it was a lovey touch, the shirts and standing together in front of the away end before kick off to show support. Hopefully that goal will give him some brief moment to enjoy.

Your only shots came from 25 yards out under pressure and didn’t threaten the keeper once.

We missed two sitters and various half chances second half that went into side netting.

Well done Oldham and more especially great stuff from John Sheridan. He did an excellent job at Fleetwood ensuring league 1 status. Now he is weaving his magic again ( is this the 5th or 6th time ) and giving them a fighting chance of staying in league 2. Wish Oldham and Sheridan all the best, just hope we wont be playing you next season !

Looks like Robbie Wilmott threw a punch and didn’t get sent off lol. Should be a ban coming his way if that’s the case.

You can always guarantee Newport getting the decisions against Mansfield for some reason.

Obviously the defensive record has been good since he's come in so it may be harsh but I'm not totally convinced with some things about Holy in goal. His kicking is huge which is great but is it always the best option just to boot it to the other keeper and occasionally his handling comes across rather casual.

On to Rochdale anyway, am sure DC will be pleased with the fight showed today.

I haven’t seen their goal but someone mentioned Holy should have saved it?

You whites. Let’s get promoted out of this league.

Need to start picking up wins not draws now.
