That was our worst performance since Jolley got the boot - no attacking intent whatsoever until it was too late. Grimsby didn't have to do a lot, just one chance where we just opened up for him to strike. Even McKeown was trying to gift us a goal.

We're still shit, but there's probably two shitter teams than us.

Been better if Grimsby drew but keeps us above Barrow and Walsall and Southend need a 10 point swing from 9 and Grimsby 11 from 10.

I’d like to think though we’d take care of business ourselves though from here!

Famous last words but I doubt Grimsby overtake us anyway. Believe they have Walsall at the weekend. If they win that then all of a sudden they do look catchable for them though.

I think Colchester may do what we did under Aspin and just about draw their way to safety.

I’m absolutely seething with Nya Kirby. 6 yards out. 1 one 1. Completely fucks it up. That could be a huge miss come the end of the season. Fuck sake.
Thought you did well to come from 2 down............Big, big weekend for all this coming Saturday

Col U should've had a penno on 90 mins, just before that huge miss by Tranny's striker. Tranmere are a very good side but the ref was on their side today.

I suppose I should be grateful that we’re not in a relegation battle and we’ll start next season as a football league club.

My big concern is we are now the worst team in League 2 and have to be huge favourites for the drop next season.

Never in a million years is that a penalty. His arms are near enough behind his back and he’s right on top of him.

It shows character to come from 2 down which is a plus. If we win against Mansfield then we’ll be set up nicely for the games against Cambridge and Cheltenham. We seem to be getting our better results against the better sides as well.

Going to be a brilliant end to the season. After Saturday we have the luxury of 6 days off! Something not seen since around January 10th!

Very encouraging results again tonight for us, before any of the games in hand played over the last two weeks we could in reality have dropped to around 10th, however tonight we sit 5th on merit, points per games now look like 80 points gets automatic and anything in the 70 point range gets play offs. so the target needed is reducing with each set of fixtures. If our streak continues after saturday then we are looking for two points a game for automatic. Saturday is huge now but other teams have hard fixtures so very interesting.

Surely even if we go into next season with the exact same squad as we currently have we won't be as bad as this.

Il be anxious until we are safe, Grimsby have a bit of a horrific run in mind, 6 teams in the top 9 left in their 10 matches plus away to Bradford but stranger things have happened although I’d hope we would get a few points ourselves! If we beat Crawley and Grimsby and Southend lose I think we will probably be about there... but it’s never that easy with Vale is it..

how can you be sure?

This is 12 games, almost like a quarter of a season. If we started a season in this form we’d be well adrift at the bottom after 12 games.

Shaping up to be a huge end to the season, you must be made up that everyone around us is tripping over their own feet at the moment!

We are complete garbage going forwards. Create nothing for 70 minutes, go two down then decide to sling a few balls into the box and realise Scunthorpe can't deal with it. 70 minutes too late and even then our finishing is atrocious.

Seems like they give you a kick or two tonight.....not a nice place to go and get something
FGR troubles started after away game on Newport's cabbage patch, where a few of our players were then unfit for next few games.
Mansfield's pitch is certainly better but still a poor one which did not help either side.
We will probably not know until Friday when Mark Cooper gives his pre-match interview and declares if any player has failed a fitness test.

FG probably slightly shaded the first half but we were much the better side in the 2nd but as you say, no quality upfront. Best chance for them in the 2nd however with stone making that gordon banksesque save

Another point to the tally.

What a fucking gigantic improvement the quality of this game was in comparison to our last against Grimsby.

We may be toothless but we can definitely play it about.

It has been two consecutive Tuesdays that the teams resting have been rubbing their hands with glee at the results.
Agree Saturday will be interesting.

Good open entertaining game of football down in Colchester I thought. Definitely a point gained, could of been 3, could of been zero.
Can’t fault Keith Hill, but I just can’t fathom out why Corey Blackett Taylor doesn’t make the match day squad more often?

Our midfield i’m pretty happy with, it’s the rest we need to work on, out of the keepers, defenders and forwards (not taking into account youth teamers) id keep bowery, stone as a backup keeper, perch and maybe gordon, the rest can go for me.

I’m fed up of having a team full of players who “try hard”, that’s not good enough, trying hard should be something that’s mandatory, not something to crow about, being described as “he tries hard” is a polite way of saying he’s shit.

With our win tonight coupled with Tranmere’s comeback at Colchester I’d say our chances of survival have gone up from minuscule to minute so I’ll take that.

Well an easy 2-1 win against Exeter to secure the double over them this season another worldly goal to go with the wonder strike at their place. I have been known to talk utter bollox from time to time though and I think this is one of those times unlucky Grecians you deserved something tonight we road our luck big time But never mind see you next season

If you beat Crawley ! If we get a point I'd be surprised.

Have we ever beat you ?
