He picked up a knock at the end of the Grimsby game, sounds like he could play tomorrow but not likely
That’s the issue we are having, like you absolutely awful injury problems (or covid) slight knock always throw them in and then lose them for a month. Worrall notably!

To be fair with some of our defending you could play the tea lady in his place and score.
before we played you most of your fans would have had the tea lady in the team ahead of Scott Quigley - and he scored - which i guess proves your point.....

I think its something like we have only Beat scunthorpe twice in the last 35 years. At vale Park 3 1 in 2016 and 2 1 away win in the league Cup earlier this season. I'd say there's been around 20 meetings in that time aswell.
records are meant to be broken... I mean we hadn't won at Port Vale ever i think before this season - and hadn't won a Football League game for 48 years until we won at Mansfield.

The overall record is 16 wins for Vale, 16 draws and 15 Scunny wins though.

Think it's only right you let us win tomorrow to make it perfectly equal.

So basically prior to around 1986 we used to always beat scunthorpe then as since then our record is shit home and away against you. Every season I have us down for 0 points against Walsall and scunthorpe as there bogey teams.

It’s a funny one isn’t it. Think we’ve had a lot a draws though.

Looking at it we won the first 5 meetings, then prior to a 19 year gap between fixtures when we were rattling around the 2nd and third tier we were 8 unbeaten before the poor run set in. Between those it was fairly even.

Walsall was a dire record, well away especially until Micky came in when that swung round but now has gone bad again!

On the flip side Rochdale have never won against us in around 23 meetings in the league in Burslem and Cambridge United have only ever picked up a single point in ten visits to Burslem so we do have some positive ones in our favour!

Newport have been our bogey team since we've been down here but I still couldn't think of anyone else in this division I'd rather play right now. We could be rusty now but later in the season they could be back on form. If we want to find some momentum again then nothing could be better than playing a six-pointer against out-of-form opponents, much better than playing someone like Mansfield or Bolton. If we lose, like you say it won't look like a terrible result, and if we play well then we'll still feel positive, but the opportunity a win would present would be massive. To be out for three weeks and then come back, pick up three big points and go up to second in the table (assuming Cambridge are winning on Tuesday) would be a huge warning shot across the bows of other promotion contenders that we haven't lost the edge and a huge morale boost for the players. You could maybe see it as a free match given we have so many games in hand but that's what makes it enticing.
I’d totally take a point. I think it would be a great result given the games in hand we have.

Just think we’ll be so off it in terms of match sharpness we’ll struggle. More so now that I’ve heard beech say we haven’t trained as a group outside since 1st January (the day before the Walsall match). Hopefully since that interview on Thursday the squad has had a few good sessions on the Brunton park pitch. But still think we may see a couple of performances reminiscent of the start of the season, Cambridge/Scunthorpe etc. Alright in the middle of the pitch but just off it at both ends where it matters.

Don't think it'll be as bad as it was at the start of the season. The players will be rusty but they've still been playing together for a while, we replaced nearly the entire squad in the summer and those first few games, most of the players had never played together before.

Sounding like Eisa is going to be a 6pm decision. We absolutely need him as we lack creativity without him but we played Van Veen against Vale earlier in the year when he was 50/50 and he reaggravated his injury.

Not having Eisa will make tonights game very difficult but I would rather him fit for the rest of the season.

If he’s against Mills he will be fine no one will touch him or come within 5 yards of him... Gibbons will probably crock him mind if he’s finally starting! God we’ve missed Gibbo... positive that even if Mills plays tonight should be the last time we have to endure it!

Eisa will be playing in the number 10 role if he's fit like saturday, it will be up to whoever your defensive midfielder is to take him out.

Mills will be against Devarn Green. Green will take him on about 50 times but then cross the ball out of play or to your defender at the front post every time.

Your assuming our defender will be at the front post and not trotting off somewhere pointless!

Defensive midfielder will be Luke Joyce if we play with one and don’t go 4-4-2 which means we will probably be down to 10 men at some point!

Fans want 4-4-2 but risky if Eisa plays as a 10 as leaves us too exposed but as said we clearly can’t defend these days so may as well go for it up front and hope for the best. We’ve kept 2 clean sheets since Halloween, 3-0 v an awful Grimsby side and 0-0 against a Bradford side that had the bite up top of a 95 year old missing their dentures.

Mansfield off as well as Carlisle. Guess the thaw and rain today forecast hasn’t helped.

Are there any Tuesdays left in the season that we can rearrange games for? Massively disappointed for the reasons that I'd highlighted this as being the perfect match to return to football for.

Update... there are currently three midweeks between now and the end of the season where we don't have fixtures. What will the EFL do if there comes a situation where it is no longer possible to schedule rearranged games for us? Knowing them, they'll probably deduct us 50 points and send us to the National League.

We have been saying since our positive covid tests that the season needs to be extended.

How many home matches have Newport postponed now?

Newport should be THROWN OUT of the football league for not having a good enough pitch to play on.

Every single season since they've been back in the league and they still haven't sorted it out, how they haven't been punished for it yet is unbelievable.

At least our match on Saturday is at home and on a world class pitch, not a fucking plough field like Newports.

We had to do that in November;-
Sat 21st (FGR) Tues 24th (Oldham) and Thurs 26th (AFC Wombles)
Yeah but then didn’t you have a free weekend after the Thursday game?

Think our game against Exeter on Saturday might be in doubt as well given that it’s forecasted for -1 on Friday night.
