Unsurprisingly wrexham at AT HOME AGAIN!

Partial to a bet, and i must admit wrexham at evens at home to stevenage seems a bit of an odd one, would’ve been expecting 1/2 etc.

Stevenage aren’t any particular run of form, any suggestions as to why it’s that high?
I'd say its their lack of conceding goals would be a factor. I'd be expecting them to come and sit deep, maybe try a counter but just frustrate the living shit out of us.

Assuming Nolan's reputation with you all from his playing days is still sky high? Did he ever get a testimonial or was it just short of 10 years he played for you?

We just dont have the firepower going forward but we are much more physically imposing at the moment and seem to be more solid. That being said I am expecting a 2-0 loss.
Will always have the love of the fans, came through the academy & captained us during our most successful period. If I remember rightly the likes of Nolan, Gardner, Davies didn’t get a testimonial which highlighted how past ownerships treaded our club legends like muck…that has greatly changed the past few years under current ownership though as we’ve seen a few legend matches for charity in the past few seasons which makes up for it. Kevin Nolan interviewed to become our manager in 2020 but we ended up going with Evatt at the time so a lot of us are interested to see how he gets on as a manager with what he’s learnt off of Big sam & Moyes.

Looking at your team how is Tom Eaves? we signed him from Oldham for a million after he bagged a hat trick against us in a friendly, I really rated him at Gillingham but that was a long time ago now. I’ve always liked that Hoskins for you lot, seems like a talisman from the outside looking in & stepped up well last season.

Early days but you can see how Nolan’s been shaped by those types. Sorted the defence first, balls in the box, first and second contacts. All those sorts of things which are what we need when in a relegation battle.

Eaves seems to split opinions so far but I like him. Does not get many decisions given for him but he puts himself about, wins a decent amount of battles and gives us a focal point. People expect him to be banging in goals but we barely create anything anyway so it’s unrealistic, he does need support though.

Hoskins has done amazingly well in recent seasons but L1 tbh is a step too far for him at his age now. He still puts in effort but he’s lost the pace he had (despite never been rapid). He dosnt create things as a winger, his outstanding attribute is his finishing. But with his physical attributes waining and in a struggling team he does not get chances to utilise his best attribute.

People get on his back also as he’s been mr marmite since signing but for me he’s a club legend due to his longevity at one club which is rare and for his goals which got us promoted. Needs to be a utility / back up now though at best.

Pitch was looking dodgy ion Saturday and torrential rain since so I wouldn't be surprised to see an inspection tomorrow

Just hope it's called early
I think dodgy is a bit harsh. Yes it’s patchy in places but it’s still nice and flat and the ball moves quickly. Compared to previous years it’s in superb condition considering the rain we’ve had and the number of games etc.

Even with the rain our drainage is much improved so I don’t think the game will be in danger.

Home to Blackpool, a game both sides will have their eye on winning I think although Blackpool will provide a sterner test than Posh..

Moylan has been confirmed as being out for the season now having picked up pretty much the same injury as Hamer did back in October (who's due back in 2 or 3 weeks). The same handful of players out for tonight.

We could freshen it up and bring Hackett, Hamilton, Montsma and Collins into the side but we've chopped and changed way too much this season.

Gotta win tonight, my physiotherapist is a Rovers fan and I won't hear the end of it if they win

Interesting one for us, worst performance of the season today and the last time Crawley came to Field Mill it was a disaster for us.

I would expect Clough to change the midfield around, Baccus, Reed in particular were absolutely dreadful and he mentioned how ineffective the midfield was so I’m expecting and hoping Boateng and Maris come in. Both should be starting anyway.
If we manage to keep the score respectable I'd count it as a win.

We play 3 at the back because we haven't any full backs. 2 of our central defenders are in their first season in the football league (one in his 4th game) and we haven't got a proper defensive midfielder worth the name.

We will have over 50% possesion and no shots on target!

I'm not going as I have ebola but I will watch on the box and get very frustrated.

How’s Swanny getting on? I wish we still had him, he’s not getting in front of Gregory/Evans but a better third choice than what we’ve got.

Going to be a slog tonight. Cold, wet and windy. Pitch will be slippy with all the rain the last few days.
They'll come and camp in their half, slow the game and frustrate.
1-1 Longman debut goal in the 75th. Peirgianni from a corner in the 83rd for them

Well maybe you're right, I'm just comparing it to the previous few seasons when it's looked immaculate even in Winter. Won't be winning any awards this season.
Anyway the bad news is that it looks like it's on.

An early goal and it should be a comfortable night for Stockport. Pierre, Hoole and Castledine out of our already threadbare squad sp the team picks itself. Our bench has 4 players clearly not fancied (one returned by Carlisle!), 2 new strikers from non-league and a youth teamer.

Hope I'm eating my words later, but waiting for the messages from my wife's County supporting unlce later

Everything we’ve not been under Kevin Nolan so far and have conceded the softest of soft goals from a corner.

That’s us done as we won’t score.

Well blow me down. Hondemarck, Taylor, Pinnock and Shaw combine for a lovely move and it’s 1-1.

Terry Taylor and Liam Shaw really do make us better through the middle.

WTF. 3-0 down after 14 mins. Indefensible…which is fair as we have zero defence.

This could be anything. They are a bogey team and it feels like one of our old mad home games where we have to come back from 3 goals down.

Honestly could be 3 or 4 down here, Okonkwo is on spice out there.

Cracking finish from Liam Shaw there. Into the top corner of his own net. 2-1 Bolton, all done and dusted.

Barnsley deservedly up 1-0 to us, a decent early finish aided by a deflection meaning the keeper had no chance.

We've looked decent though and have had plenty of shots, just none of them have dropped just right, and their keeper has done very well.

Well I thought our second half performance against Shrewsbury was going to be the worst I've seen us play this season. Sadly not.

60% of the ball second half but done nothing with it, and Bolton wrap it up on the counter. Toothless.
