It was a lateral flow test on Saturday morning that brought up the positive tests - both players were left in Cheltenham, so all risk was minimalised. Obviously they can't guarantee anything, but the club has done all they can to minimise the effect.

They should just cancel the season now and award us the title as we could and probably would be 18 points ahead. We have been the only team worthy of promotion this season anyway.
You haven’t even played every team yet, hardly worthy of promotion.

so if any FGR players did catch it and today's tests find that, then.......
Carlisle FGR will be off.... and we all know that's gonna happen - if only to wind up Carver and co.

Well Mansfield are to play Forest Green on Saturday so if Forest Green can't play then surely they'll let us play Mansfield instead which was a fixture we had called off.

We're the only team who hasn't been on a shit run this season, us and maybe Forest Green.

Our worst run was our first match of the season which seems such a long time ago now.

Beat Southend but then lost to Scunthorpe... at that point three matches in I was still calling it a terrible start to the season.

Not the only one saying it, but I would think they now have to be looking at rearranging games to fill the gaps caused by these postponements. It messes everyone around because you'll end up having to change fixtures at short notice even for teams not affected by postponements and it messes up preparations managers do per team but if they're adamant the season's gonna finish on time then what you gonna do?

If *touch wood* FGR end up testing positive after playing Cheltenham and tomorrow night is postponed then we'll end up having played two games in a six week period between Boxing Day and the second week in February.

The season needs to be extended, there just isn't enough time to fit all the fixtures in without some teams playing crazy schedules.

There's a yellow warning for snow and ice for Cumbria from 2200 today to 2359 tomorrow.....

Which no League Two clubs even have anyone playing in them.

Im sure Forest Greens players will have been tested since they played Cheltenham.
Don’t think you show positive until 4 or 5 days after exposure. So they could potentially be infectious tomorrow night having only been in contact with Cheltenham on Saturday.

The season started a month later than usual, the likes of Carlisle have missed a month (so far ) during the season. So we’re effectively having to fit a full season into a schedule that’s 2 months less than normal.

Hopefully quite a lot of our players will have the COVID antibodies from having the virus recently.

I think that’s how it works

Not if they get the quick tests, them results only take a couple of hours.

It's all well and good saying the season should be extended for the benefit of sides like Carlisle, and I get that because they've been very unlucky so far. But what about all the other sides then, the ones that have fulfilled most if not all of their fixtures? If it's extended well into say June then all those sides will end up with as long as four or five weeks without a game while waiting for two or three clubs to catch up.

Potentially, the fixture list for May and June for a club like the U's and quite a few others could read something like this

May 1 - Harrogate A (Matchday 45)
May 8 - No game
May 15 - NG
May 22 - NG
May 29 - NG
June 5 - NG
June 12 - Grimsby H (Matchday 46)

This would also be unfair no?

Either move your Tuesday games to those Saturdays, or maybe one of your Easter weekend games.

I don’t think it’d need extended by a month, maybe just a week or two.

They'll probably have to make us play on Thursday nights too the way things are going.

We also play tomorrow eve as the last remaining League 2 team in the Pizza Cup.

Up against our nemesis Peterborough who we always seem to draw in the Cups one way or another. That said, last season has brought about a unity between the two clubs given how our seasons ended.

I think we’ll make a few changes as we’ve played a lot recently and will continue to do so. We’ve also got ourselves into a great position in the league and would rather kick on in that. Wouldn’t turn my nose up at a semi final and some extra money in the bank however!

The weather here in Gloucestershire is dry and sunny.
The weather forecast for Carlisle looks reasonable, probably better than on Saturday when FGR played in atrocious conditions.
Checking the H2H results there does not appear to be any pattern of results - both teams have had away wins.
1612265584124.png

I think this is first occasion that either team has played other when both were in promotion spot.
Last season Carlisle had some good results against FGR but lost this season at TNL.
Carlisle have both points in the bag and games in hand. Their team will be up for it against their close league rivals.
This season FGR appear to be sleeping giants with less points that their performances deserve [Okay I'm a FGR supporter :bye: ]
I look forward to watching game tonight. Lets have a good match.
