Great game last night. An enthralling close game in the first half. Bromley packed their team, as expected, with several big units. The back three were man mountains, especially Webster and Sowunmi. Bush was no garden gnome either!! Their best chance in the first half came from a terrible back pass, but Arnold did very well and was alert to tackle and send the ball to safety. Each team went close and narrowly missed the target. Cardwell had one flick header that, unfortunately from our point of view, went straight into Cousins arms. Indeed Cardwell, as I suspected was more involved in our box defending long throws and got very little change out of their back three, although like all the team, he gave his all to the cause. In fact it has been a long, long time that I have not heard one particular home player getting the bird from the crowd, but there really is a change for the better afoot at the Hall at the moment and it is sssoooooooooo refreshing.

The second half could not have started any better from us. Dalby, who had held the ball up really well all night, had his back to goal on the edge of the box, turned and sent a screamer against the post that came out, only for Matty Dennis to bury the rebound. 1 nil Blues and nigh on 8,000 fans erupted with ecstasy. (A freebie at the turnstile care of RM, before anyone asks! lol). Shortly after we get a corner and of all things, Hobson beats the Jolly Red Giants, and absolutely powers a header into the net for 2-0 on the 50th minute.

after that it was still a good game with chances at both ends. Coulson for them played his heart out for the Bromley cause, always available, driving forward down the right flank and putting some good balls into our box. He had the best chance of the game when Nathan Ralph missed the ball on the half way line and had a free run at goal, but Arnold pulled off another good stop with his right foot, not only making the save, but clearing the ball to touch and safety, giving us the chance to re-group. The only other save of consequence he had to make was a speculative shot from the left hand side coming in from 25 yards out, which he tipped over with ease. The rest of the evening from us defensively was dealing with Bush's long throws into the box.

Our Midfield was immense last night, Atkinson and Husin, both despite debateable early bookings were hassling and tackling when out of possession and probing for opening, supporting the forwards when in possession. Husin got totally cleaned out when through on goal, which the ref waved play on for, that I would love to see again.

Great evening, good competitive game and even some nice comments from Grimsby's most wanted after the game. The Kevolution rolls on....Woking away up next.

Nott's aside some decent results for Wrexham.

Unfortunately, we won't be consistent enough to take advantage and pull ourselves into the race.

It is now mostly about trying to get our strongest XI fit, firing and not suspended for a play-off attempt.

Disgusting performance that has happened 5 or 6 times this season alone.

Brennan having a dig at us fans who travelled.

God, that’s a tough one. Last night was probably made to look even worse by your ‘keeper managing to throw three into his own net, but I feel like we probably played better on the opening day. Three or four of our goals in that game were really well worked, which wasn’t really the case last night (although the third was a great goal tbf). We didn’t really have to do much at all to look like scoring at will.

Sympathise with Bees fans, 'cos they looked a decent outfit at our place and it was a good game last week at the Hall.

Talking of shit refs……..

I know they say dodgy decisions even themselves up over a season but I didn’t expect our ridiculous penalty against Notts to be evened up in the very next game ffs!

Dodged a bullet there, just awaiting Stephen Cleeve's latest rant against NL officials as he re-Tweets this for the next week?

To be honest with our penalty record this season we’d probably have missed it anyway, 4 missed already so far this season.

What a prat you are just like your blinkered manager who claimed that he thought the non awarding of an obvious goal was a 'very good decision'.
[edit] posted a link to your forum including images of the ball hitting the ball and bouncing down but links seem to break this forum so I’ve removed. Not quite the obvious goal you thought it was, chap.

You know you have shit strikers that can't score when they can't even score free goals from the pen spot.

What's he meant to say?

"It was a shocker!! I thought he should have given it."
If he was honest and thought it did cross the line then yes but you know obviously he’s Chesterfield manager so he’s not going to be even if he thought it did.

Least he stopped himself getting his todger out at the final whistle so progress is being made I guess.

This is why we’re going absolutely nowhere with him
Hmmm, I can't help but think I've heard that before somewhere...
I can say something about Hurst because he's not taking us up

I absolutely despise this fat fuck, but you have to hand it to him he's a master troll. Southend's cup final? There's absolutely no way he believes the utter codshit that comes out of his mouth.
Did he really say that? :bl:

What a total fucking ball bag.

Have you even seen the interview?it's clearly just a joke. Not quite sure why you're getting your knickers in a twist over it

Woodman’s been very respectful of us twice. He knows the real big boys in this town.

Wait until you beat him. We did it in 1998 and he is still absolutely TRIGGERED.
The thing about Woodman is that when he played he was a tall streak of piss keeper, who I didn’t really think had much about him. Not much ‘presence’.

His metamorphosis into a fat cunty archetypal non league manager has been an impressive one.

Someone needs to do a Very Hungry Caterpillar book about him.

Wasn't at the opener but honestly, last night was a gutless performance. Your scouts must have told you to either press or drop off to the halfway line and then close down, you did neither, just gave us the the run of the pitch. At four down you sparked into a bit of life but I can't honestly remember a worse team visit us. For whatever reason you just didn't fancy it last night. Felt sorry for the travelling fans.
I've seen us capitulate on occasion, 6-0 at Rotherham was a shocker and Shaun Derry the manager was holding back tears post match interview he was so distraught at the performance after he'd just taken over.

He was very good in the longer than average loan spell he had with us at the turn of the century.
