Won 3-2 with a last second goal from Rutherford. Young striker McDonagh on loan from Forest came on to change the game for us.

Only 44 games left for Forest Green to score the other 129 goals ChrisFGR estimated they would score this season..........

Wes York must be getting his good games in early.
Southport and Chester are both terrible so I expect FGR to be a hell of a lot better. Plus they will want revenge for the 3 points we got last season there even though we should been beat by 7

Wrexham 2nd string or B team defense ain't conceded yet.

George Smith at Left Back is far too good for this league

After a poor 20 minute opening from us, team finally started playing football and we were in control and should have had a couple more goals. Nice to see the team start clicking though, just need the strikeforce to actually find the net.

Might chuck a quid on Matt Rhead for Ballon D'Or.

Good to see our goal difference getting an early boost in preparation for our title fight with Tranmere.

TENSE.

Onwards to to total football on Saturday, playing well, not surprised about boremwood at all, bought really well and in Kenny Davis one of the very best players in the league

From the commentary it seems like Aldershot were by far the better side tonight, gutted by how we lost though, so close to holding on for the draw.

Started bright enough but went all Boreham Wood again and conceded a silly penalty. Thought the aim was to be controlling midfield but couldn't manage it. Sutton were robust but were entitled to be and hit the bar as well on one of a decent number of forays forward. Traore still not quite over his knock maybe, not as sharp as he looked pre-season.
A massive one point from six. Hand us the trophy now.

That was absolutely pressing perfection, a delight to watch. We're going to hand out a few thrashings at home this season.

Alex Woodyard - what a player!

We were excellent tonight, let the shackles off and on it from the first minute, didn't give Dagenham any time on the ball. We're a particularly young side and this is a demonstration of what they can do but we need to be consistent.

Durrell scored an absolute screamer, volley from 30 yards out or something like that and then Shaw also curled one in to the top corner not long after. Alabi rounded it off with a header from a corner in the second half.

More of that please.

More than happy with the point after being 1-0 down after 7 minutes. Perhaps unlucky not to get a winner towards the end of the game but still happy

Beat Macclesfield 1-0,not convinced on system we are playing,Macclesfield look a descent passing team but got nothing up front, but for me not missed the standard of refs, appalling from start to finish, love to see the 2 penalty shouts for hand ball, any Macclesfield cast some opinion, thought it was def hand ball from corner in first half stopping a goal and should of been sent off, plus local radio saying same, also how did the ref let us get away with time wasting like that, don't like it and not seen it for a long time but the showed

There were people saying NFU would be the new Hyde, but Hyde were better than that lot. At least they had a go, played gung-ho and just tried to score knowing they weren't very good. Tbh, though, I don't thnk NFU at their best would have stopped that. Especially the first half an hour, where we steamrolled them.

A typically good header from Rhead, a corker from Arnold, which I blinked and missed, set piece from Waterfall, penalty from Rhead, a 6 yard smash from Margetts and a Wood 20 yarder.

There's just something particularly nice about watching a team press in an organised fashion as a unit, and how we've got Alex Woodyard is a mystery. Never a Conference player in a million years.

Only downside for me was the goal from our throw-in, Beevers square on and what the hell Farman was doing when he just had to cover his near post. The guy's basically on the by-line when he's shot.

Wrexham look a far better team than last year although I'm not sure what all that passing side to side at the back achieves other than ticking the clock down? Very neat and tidy passing & possession game though.
A very entertaining end to end game I thought. Great shame about the penalty decision which was very hard to take - a true shocker! How the hell hand ball can be given when the defender is running towards his own dead ball line (with his back to the ball) tracking a forward I'll never understand!
I genuinely thought 2-2 would have been a fair result.

Pretty dull game, officials were absymal and Barrow absolutely shite! Cook celebrating in front of the away end after being called a fat bastard all half was mildly amusing.

Barrow were poor and we should have scored more without ever really trying too hard. Comfortable and solid win as expected. Eastleigh probably more of a test of our home form after their antics last season.

Normally you'd have 1 or 2 stand-out players in a side, but we've just got so many. Habergham, Raggett, Wood, Woodyard, Arnold and Rhead are all among the best players in their positions and it's not like the players around them are too shabby either. The Cowleys have put together a ridiculously strong squad.

Fully expecting a comfortable win for us tonight at Braintree, will be nice to score at least 3 and keep a clean sheet.
That said, Jamie Day's side's usually do well against us....So any scoreline to ensure 3 points will do!
Think you should change your moniker to wishful thinking. For all the money being put into your team if that is typical of how you play forget challenging for the title. We have a brand new squad and matched you all over the pitch.

Sounds like a classic case of reffing out to me, which should be actively encouraged even at this early stage of the season.

Marriott didn't even get on, and then there's Hawkridge, too.

On Wood, given his performances in midfield it makes you wonder whether we should be looking at a CM, or a RB to allow us to keep Wood in there?

You're right, Wood is perfect for that midfield role. So tenacious and perfect for our pressing style and seems to have struck up a decent partnership with Woodyard.

Not sure what the answer is, but a nice problem to have nevertheless!

I thought it was a mostly average game of football at Prenton park, not helped by Brabins negative tactics as soon as Tranmere went 1-0 up. Fortunately Barrow lacked any creativity and I can't remember Davies having a save to make. Thought Jimmy Norwood was a bit "clever" in getting the penalty to put some gloss on the score line.
That fat bastard Cook was my motm, whilst Barrows No3 looked decent.

We were awful defensively which I expected before the season. Doe is not the player some of our fans think and Robson is a massive step from where he was. No real protection offered by the midfield and got overrun. Have to do much better than that but it's early doors and many of our squad are from one of not two or three levels below.

Two cracking goals from Chester. Glad I'm not going Guiseley or however you spell it.

Wiped the floor 4-0 with a fucking awful Gainsborough side tonight. 3 goals and 2 assist for Dan Bradley so far. Wes Harding looks like a hell of a player! Without doubt destined for better things.

If thats a sign of what to expect st home this season then who knows what we could achieve!

Can tell you're a decent side but you just never got going tonight. We were clearly smarting after Saturday and hassled you all over the place. You've got something about you going forwards but looked shaky at the back. I do think Alabi and Richards up front for us will give a few defenders something to think about mind you.
