Absolute pig of a game today. Vale created lots but didn't capitalise, hit the post had at least two cleared off the line. Like last season for us the rot seems to have set in for vale and despite having the most chances and being unlucky not to win. A smash and grab of playing poorly and winning a game seems to suggest we won't struggle this season and that Vale probably will unless something changes. Points on the board at this stage nothing more but it's looking encouraging for Notts on and off the field.

Bad game, lack of any real quality or chances but we took the one we had.

Suspect we're going to get a lot of home teams saying that we were awful after beating them this season. :D

But we are only five points from the play offs and we should of been out of sight before their goal as anyone could see 'quote M Brown'

Doesn't fucking matter if you don't win the game as it's a results business! He has a 19% win ratio... any Vale manager of more than a couple of games got a worse one?
He is worse than jim Gannon need I say more.

Dreadful game, Vale did little of note, huffed and puffed a bit, Pope looked like he was held back by a parachute when he was clean through and 10 yards clear of Jones.
We are in a mess, Notts look organised , not sure about the old lads up front as a pairing Stead and Ameobi looked quite bereft of anything, in fact they will fit in well at Vale, sign them up Brown
As Brown says we are only 5 points off the play-offs, or alternatively Mr Brown in our lowest position for 36 years !

Ameobi is a good target man but Stead is finished as anything other than a finisher. He'll work his bollocks off and generally scores if he gets a chance, but they're too slow to work as a pairing, basically everyone but Nolan can see it at this stage.

We're winning games despite the front two rather than because of them - whenever Forte is on, whether it's alongside Stead or Ameobi, we look a much more dangerous team.

Hunt won a place in the FLP team of the week. Anyone who went see enough from him to warrant that? I read he was well off the pace...

Hunt was solid and apart from one slip that let Pope in didn't really do anything wrong. He was probably the least impressive of the back four, though - Dan Jones was the best player on the pitch by some distance, had a superb game.
