Sounded like another Micky Adams to me, glad we opted out. He probably won't be too fussed, less pressure at a smaller club probably suits him.

Looking forward to it pal. Who needs the football league anyway with all us massive clubs down here. With teams like barnet and probably Eastleigh going up to join the likes of Crawley and fleetwood, we're probably better off down here

Aye, teams like Barnet replacing the likes of poorly run teams like you.

Enjoy Borehamwood!

Welcome to the forum!

Thank you good Sir.

Scary how you're path has followed ours. Playoff final, playoff semi final, just pulling away from relegation danger before getting relegated. Your 2011-2015 is nigh on identical to our 2010-2014.

It's strange how that has happened. Another CTFC fan pointed it out halfway through last season, but I still never truly believed it would happen.

As for how we'll get on, I'm in two minds. If we can keep Gary Johnson, then I believe we can have a tilt at going straight back up. I do believe that if we don't go up within the next two seasons then the Football League will simply be something CTFC fans talk of as the great days.

Enjoy your season or two back in the football league. Tranmere will be waiting for you here when you come back :shifty:

Cheltenham will be here for a long stretch I feel.

Too many variables to say for Tranmere at the moment, they need a manager savvy at this level for a start and probably an entire squad.

I was just about to do one of those Google Map visual things, but I've got no idea how to do one!

I hope for you're sake you don't copy our 2015 season because it was boring as hell

However, I'll be surprised if you boys are challenging straight away to be honest.

It depends on the managerial appointment. We're not in debt, but we're not flush with money.

If we keep Gary Johnson, then I think we can challenge, but I don't know any CTFC fans who are under any illusions about it being easy next season.

Yeah, fair enough.

I'm glad you've come down anyway (sorry!) but I love the away day at Cheltenham. No doubt it'll be a tuesday night near Christmas though :jones:

Yeah, they don't like us playing on a Saturday for some reason. Torquay is one of my favourite away days, although I haven't done it since 2006. Kids and things now get in the way.

Isn't it time you moved along to the league 2 page. I know it's hard leaving your natural habitat but it's time to move on, you've done well I salute you. Now leave us non league sides have our quality banter
The season hasn't finished yet that's why.
Anyway, we have spent more seasons in the Football League in the last 10 years than you have. It seems that you're getting pretty settled in the Conference.

Cheers, Cards.

That's looking far too NW and SE for my liking.

Confirmed Gary Johnson has signed on for the next two years.

This is the news we wanted after last Saturday. We've looked (by and large) a lot better under Gary and he knows our squad's deficiencies.

Delighted with this.

(Would have done a new thread, but I'm not allowed yet, also can't put a link on)

Hasn't managed down here for an eternity, different league to when he was last here etc etc. He's a bloody good manager mind.

The important thing is that this has been done so quickly.

Our board have been rightly criticised over the last few weeks, but they have judged this brilliantly. I follow a lot of Town fans on Twitter and obviously speak to a lot at games, and I have seen precisely one person not see him as the best option.

Looking at his interview as well, he was part of the Board meeting on Monday and he's obviously been given decent assurances. He doesn't need this job, Football League roles would undoubtedly become available over the next few months, so he must see something at the Club for him to get his teeth into.

This is the best news that we could have had this week (save for me winning Euromillions and buying the club).

I don't get how Tranmere are bigger than either Luton or Bristol Rovers. They have averaged around 5-6k crowds in lge 1 recently, never played higher than the championship, and had crowds as low as 1-2k back in the 80's

Compare that to Luton who have played top flight football as recently as the 90's and regularly get 6-7k crowds even in this division obviously limited by their stadium. )

So that must mean you fill your capacity most weeks? obviously barnet having had ground problems and limited capacity for 20 years would really have built.crowds over 10k if it wasn't for their limited stadium!!!!! - not!
