So that must mean you fill your capacity most weeks? obviously barnet having had ground problems and limited capacity for 20 years would really have built.crowds over 10k if it wasn't for their limited stadium!!!!! - not!

First noises to come out of the club since missing out on play offs with a statement from our chairman....

http://www.mtfc.co.uk/news/article/a-message-from-the-chairman-2431752.aspx

Sounds decent enough on the whole but "substantially bigger player budget" could just be from £200k to £300k, still tiny in the grand scheme of things!! I'd guess it will be higher but it doesnt really give a great indication of what sort of level we're going to be at. Good to see JA has been offered better terms, and will be very interesting to see who he can get re-signed. I'd like to think the convenience of playing for their local club will help keep some of them on board, especially the likes of Halls, Turnbull, Whitaker, Rowe, Lewis, Moke etc, but not naive enough to think its a game changer in any contract negotiations.

"On the financial front I am delighted to say that we will be able to go in to next season with a substantially bigger player budget than we started the 2014/15 season with."

Didn't your budget start low and increase anyway, so in theory, all he could be saying is that it's going to be the same as this season?!

Exactly, doesn't really tell us much.

God, just realized Boreham Wood (sic) could actually be playing in this league next season! Will be playing Whitehawk or Basingstoke in the final bar an amazing turnaround by Havant, who go to their place trailing 2-0 from the first leg.

I suppose they deserve it finishing 2nd and it's been an amazing rise for a club that are traditionally perennial Ryman League strugglers, but I don't envy Tranmere, Cheltenham or any poor ex-League team who's still here having to go there next season, or hosting them for that matter, with the number of fans (if any) they're likely to bring - playing that kind of club alone will be indicative of how far those two have fallen.

We played Boreham Wood in the FA Cup in 97/98. Some of our fans still have the scars to show for it. Something about bricks being thrown and whatnot.

Will be interesting to see who they'll give to whom over Christmas and New Year.

Really hope they give Gateshead to Barrow.

It would surprise me if they didn't pair those two together.

I am more worried who we might end up with. If Bristol Rovers go up it could well be Torquay, leaving Cheltenham with our most regular festive opponents Kiddy! If the Gas stay down they can keep Torquay and we might get Cheltenham, which would suit me just fine.

No idea what that would mean for us if you got Cheltenham. Wrexham perhaps?

I don' know, Chester maybe, can't see them being paired with Wrexham, although one of them might get Tranmere. We were paired with Newport a couple of years ago, the season they went up, but most of our fans are more than happy with a trip to your place on either Boxing Day or New Year's.

You'd know all about miniscule attendences, and I would argue that it's indicative of how far Wood have progressed rather than how the mighty have fallen; of course a town with a population of only 31,000 is not going to draw mega crowds, but we may be surprised, with the club so close to the smoke, and only Watford and Barnet also in close proximity - only time will tell!

Looking forward to it!

I definitely am. Love going to Aggborough, for obvious reasons.

I'm sure you'll be most welcome this time round; seems to be a lot of bad press about our little club on this site. I'm sure we'll make amends.

Can't say it's entirely unwarranted though mate after lightning striking at least twice today!

How often does an opposition player get attacked by "fans" in games not involving Boreham Wood? Not very, I'd wager.

Fortunately (as much for your club and their reputation as the fans visiting) this kind of incident is unlikely to occur again, at least against ex-League teams, because it seems those kind of knuckle draggers only turn up to big games, and I can't see any of those teams being involved with you lot at either end of the table next season. But well done on promotion, I think your team will surprise a fair few.

Made up to see Bromley promoted, home town team! I suppose I can give pointers to anyone visiting Hayes Lane next season.

Congratulations to Bromley; much table top swapping between them and Wood throughout the season; I think the ouciome of the play-offs was justified, despite Wood being the pariah of clubs apparently!

Can't wait for the Guisley gang to start turning up on here. I had them on the ropes on another forum before I got banned. There was a great photo of one of them spitting on a referee, they're a classy bunch. Surprised their ground has been passed fit tbh. :box::bdick:

Shall we start predictions after the playoff final next week?

Still struggling to get my head around Tranmere being down here. Assuming it falls on a weekend I might make a trip to Prenton Park part of a weekend in my old Merseyside stomping ground.

You're right that us and Wrexham definitely won't be paired together for Boxing Day/NYD. I assumed Tranmere would get Southport and potentially us and wrexham playing Macc/Alty.

Decent little cluster of clubs in the Northwest/North Wales next season. Potential for everyone to have a Christmas/Boxing Day double header they're happy with.

Had to laugh this season when Macc got sent off to Lincoln or wherever it was. So completely unfair on them.

Indeed there is, you also have about a third of the league based in the South East, so plenty of potential for some good fixtures there too. Probably a bit pointless worrying about who might play who, at least until after the play-off final, but if the Gas go up it might mean FGR getting Torquay for the festive games as we are marginally closer than anyone else. At least it is largely Motorway and A-Road for us to get there, so maybe not the worst away game in the great scheme of things.

Once you're into the Southwest everywhere just seems like an absolute mission to me!

Welcome to the West Country, it is a wonderful place to live but it can take hours to get anywhere if you decide to leave!

To be fair, it isn't too bad going north to south, M5 and M6 are pretty good as long as you don't get stuck at Brum...but as soon as you try going east it can be a bit of a nightmare.

2015/16 Fixtures are due out on the 17th July. The new season starts on 15th August.

Where did you see/read that? If true that seems quite late, both for the fixtures to be released and the season starting (thought at the latest it would have been the 8th).

As for who we would likely to be paired with over Christmas, we had Barnet last year so I could see us getting Boreham Wood.
