One of my favourite away trips, results there have been very up and down on my visits but we got soundly beaten by the better team last time there, and that can also be said of last week.

Go in hope more than expectation here.

Praying Morecambe beat Barnsley or we are deffo doing a Wednesday at theirs next midweek

I just hate it when you play a team who've seen their manager resign. Inevitably leads to an improvement in form so Fleetwood at best look set for another draw. 1-1

Trying to put this in as delicate a way as possible but if the Queen were to pass away which seems to be what a lot of the media outlets are preparing for I’m presuming the EFL and PL will probably postpone the fixture list this weekend?

Knowing how the Royal Family hate fuss I suspect this weekend's sporting events will not be affected.
Obviously there will be a minutes respectful silence or applause to reflect her long term as our Queen.

I would imagine so unless it was first thing Saturday, I expect any funeral would be a Saturday as well so may be a couple of weeks of movement.

Fingers crossed she returns to health though. GSTQ.

Apparently when George Vl passed the football the following Saturday was not postponed. His funeral was on a Friday.

Almost certain that Saturday won’t be going ahead at the very least and maybe in to next week.

Someone on our forum posted that the likely date for the funeral is Saturday 17th and all sports fixtures will be postponed until after that has taken place.

It’s all speculation but this says Mon 19th is the likely funeral date. I get the magnitude of the event but I really hope there aren’t two games postponed.

Aye, if it was down to me I wouldn’t be postponing any of them. We’d have three postponed in that case - yourselves, Barnsley and Shrews. I am sure Saturday will at least, I seem to recall when Diana died we were due to play Crewe away and that got called off.

They carried on when Prince Phillip died .

And I remember what is now League one clubs played mid week and on the Sunday after Princess Di’s funeral as Elton John was a guest at the Watford game.

But times change and obviously this is very different/

Very different indeed, neither of those were the Monarch...she was the Head of State and the Commonwealth.

I think this weekend will be off but they'll play mid week and next Saturday if the funeral isn't then.

The operation London Bridge suggests all sport is off until after the funeral so will have to see.

I expect this weekend to be off.

It’s a difficult one, people have spent money on travel etc so understandable some will be upset if it’s off but if there’s one head of state in the world who deserves the respect and period of mourning it’s HM Elizabeth II.

I think most of us can appreciate the gravity of HM Elizabeth II’s passing, clearly we are now going to have a national period of mourning. Calling off all sporting events seems appropriate.

What’s the point in that? Either you postpone games for the mourning period, or you actually do the sensible thing and allow sport at the weekend with respect shown to a fantastic Monarch.

If they’re calling off Friday’s games I reckon Saturday’s will be off too.

The English Football League (EFL) cancelled two fixtures scheduled for Friday, with the possibility of more postponements at the weekend.

"A determination regarding the remainder of this weekend's scheduled fixtures will be made following a review of the official mourning guidance, in addition to further consultation with DCMS and other sports on Friday morning," the EFL said.

Don’t get me wrong I’ve already got my tickets for Peterborough so if it happens I’ll be there and pay my respects. If it’s off I can certainly accept it though given how huge this is.

I would expect tomorrows games to be off and rightly so. After that it will depend when the funeral is, and I would not be surprised to see the whole country shut for that day.

Its likely that we will see football next Saturday I think.

I'm kinda indifferent to be honest. Arguments both ways and I don't feel strongly for or against either.
