So it turns out Crewe were talking absolute bollocks all along and there was never a cap on the amount of tickets they could have.

Ha ha ha! Couldn't write it, could you?

What's going on with you lot then, Colchester fans? When I look at your squad and couple it with the Cowleys being in charge I'd have expected you to kick on a bit but you're in that 16th to 22nd void that both us and you seem to always occupy in this division. There's a lot of experience in that squad, is it just a case of things not really clicking or are you where you deserve to be?

Positions wise, you look at this and think home win but this is far from that. We need to start picking up points at home but we all know what a Cowley team is about, they aren't gonna come here and let us have it our own way.

We looked a decent enough side throughout August and September and were probably about five points worse off than we ought to have been which would have had us in and around the play-offs at the time. We played with a decent tempo, pressed high with energy and we looked like a real team where you could see what we were trying to do. I'm sure at that point we had the most shots on target in the division, the highest XG and a fairly high possession stat too. I would have had us down for a comfortable 10-15th finish this season, probably looking upwards for much of the year without ever really threatening to do anything.

We fell apart at Walsall at the end of September. Played well enough for half an hour or so, went behind against the run of play, lost Bishop and Edwards to injury and ended up losing 4-0 in a game that was never a 4-0 game. I think we should have put that to one side and just carried on, but we massively overreacted and made six changes for the next game at Port Vale, set up for a 0-0 from minute one as though we were at the Etihad and stunk the place out. Since then it has felt like we've totally lost our way to be honest, chopping and changing and struggling to rediscover the promise we had shown earlier in the season.

So August and September I think we were hard done by, October and November so far we've looked every bit a relegation-battling side. With Edwards and Tovide now back from injury, hopefully we'll start to rediscover the earlier form as we have sorely missed their pace which seems key to how we would want to play. It's worrying that we appear to be fairly reliant on that though, so we need them to stay fit and then bring in some depth in January.

Shakespeare himself wouldn't have thought of that script.

Waste of time talking about the vale vs Crewe game because it will be postponed.
Why,because the pitch is covered in snow? The covers won't be as effective at preventing frost as the snow will be. It keeps the pitch warm than if it was left uncovered in freezing temperatures. If it stays covered in snow until Monday, then between clearing the pitch and the game we don't have a deep freeze, it will be on, and the snow covering will have helped.

Dan's quoting our CEO, who's basically said exactly what I posted yesterday. There was no restriction, staffing is organised based on the visiting clubs original estimate. Crewe underestimated how many they'd bring, so we couldn't confirm an increase in allocation until sufficient staffing was confirmed.

He’s just a vale WUM, think he posts as DOHA on onevalefan, he’s obsessed with the Alex, morbidly obese and stinks of piss.

Ha ha ha! I highly fucking doubt it. Doha is a completely different person altogether and I don't think he's my biggest fan either way, even though we've never met.

Or, in reality, I posted it on the wrong thread initially, realised there was no way of deleting said post, and just posted it where intended. Bellend.

All of this is a bit embarrassing. Well done Crewe in selling more tickets than normal( not too difficult ) and let`s hope it`s a good game not spoiled by ridiculous refereeing.

If we play as well as we did last week against Port Vale then we should do OK against Swindon ,just need to create more chances and get someone challenging for goal if Lewis is putting in the crosses

On the whole refs don't actually ruin games, fans just use them as an excuse. This guy we've got on Monday made an horrendous error away at Salford last season, but that incident aside he was fine. It just happened to be that decision changed the game. I'm sure he knows he fucked up, and he won't be doing that again.

A good example is Wimbledon v Accrington on Tuesday. I saw some comments from Wimbledon fans saying he was the worst ref ever etc. He wasn't, he was absolutely fine barring a couple of incorrect decisions, which is to be expected in League 2.

Biblical rain may be the cause of some postponements tomorrow as opposed to the freeze.

Doncaster at home.

Its going to be absolutely pissing it down but I wouldn’t expect it to affect our pitch unless the river bursts over the flood defence.

Anyway we’re in dream land at the moment. 4 points from our last 6. That’s amazing for us. But Doncaster will be a different prospect, they are where they are for a reason and we are where we are for a reason. As much as we’re desperate for points to try and put up a fight in staying up, I just can’t make a case for us getting anything here.

I was thinking morre about the farcical penalty your lot got last week which killed the game off, decisions like that ruin matches

They weren't scoring if the game was going on all night tbf they were that toothless. Hardly ruined the game if we were winning and looking comfortable which we were at the time.

We did warn you that would be the case yet some still acted surprised.

Crewe were very fortunate with the penalty decision from the EFL rookie referee but they were far more fortunate not to face ANY of our awesome foursome in the starting lineup. Made for an easy and deserved victory.

We're slowly improving, but this is going to be a tough match.
Storm Bert might level it out a bit though.

Approaching 2,000 according to their twitter post earlier today.

Regardless of the childish banter you see on social media Division 4 teams taking 2k away from home is great to see. Regardless of what's gone before, how close clubs are etc, it makes for a great occasion.

I'd rather 2k in the away end than a hundred or so. The fact our next 2 home games will see 2k plus each time, is brilliant. Can't wait.

Just hope they all go home gutted afterwards. How it should be.

Tbf we faced them twice last season (altho only Jatta once), and you also had Langstaff, and we won both times. Of course you would have been stronger with them, but it's nothing we haven't dealt with before. Tbh, I wish they were all available, much prefer to face a full strength team and a victory then feels better.

Forgot about Billy Crellin. I remember Ian Evatt laying into him for tons of mistakes after a loan spell with Bolton in League Two four years ago. Bolton probably would've won the league with a competent keeper first half of that season.
I remember when he debuted for Fleetwood and there was nothing in that match that inspired. Why Everton bought him is beyond comprehension, equally when Bolton got him my pal who's a Trotter said he is so bad he couldn't understand why the club had brought him in
Tbh it's not just a shame, he was highly regarded as a youngster but clearly has lost his way- hope he can recover and get some confidence vack

Trust me you are best not facing all 4, best to face 0. That applies to all teams not just Crewe, less toothless.
