Oh, someone older than me. 62 in June. I remember the glory days of winning the FA Cup and holding our own in the Prem and punching above our weight. Then the FA Commission and Winkleman, Koppell et al put paid to that. Franchise supporters need not respond as I have most of them blocked.
Why do you have most of them blocked?
It’s not the MK fans fault that your club got shafted.

I will anyway. You missed out Sam selling your ground from under you and trying to move you to Dublin. Well before Winkie was even in the picture. But hey, enjoy that Leonard Cohen album and don't play with razorblades.
The association of Leonard Cohen’s music with wrist slashing cliches is superficial and shows a lack of appreciation of his dark humour and philosophical reflections on his sexual adventures.

I know he suffered from depression but I’m also early 60s and I wish could look back on a life writing poetry that pulled women on unspoilt Greek islands and at wild parties on the roof of a New York hotel. I do confess to a couple of occasions years ago when meant to be watching Town but instead had a different kind of “away” game.

I'm not overly confident about a win on Saturday but it would certainly be a statement of intent. A draw would be fine, just don't lose please.

Because we happen to live in a certain place and follow our local team OR were scabs who deigned to actually follow the club when it moved in 2003. There's more of them than gets admitted to by AFC fans online

I do find it funny that 7 year old me was causing grown adults to spit absolute venom because of wanting to watch football where I lived though.

Without wanting to start a whole new debate about all that, i always find it mildly amusing that the ire was/is always aimed at MK.

Whereas i wholeheartedly believe it should’ve never happened, it was purely the fault of the FA for allowing it to happen in the first place, not MK or their “fans”

We are appalling odds here. Salford are favourites in my eyes, our league away form is dreadful.

I thought this, great odds for a draw given how we look away and Salford seem to have new manager bounce.

Sold out away following for a localish game again usually leads to a let down performance.

Clough press conference today is pretty depressing, himself not sounding very confident against County. Looks like 7 (seven) defenders unavailable for it so a makeshift defence, be interesting how we set up. Hopefully they ain’t up for it.

We won't be , we very rarely are.

Maybe he hasn't got over the 4th officials disgusting antics from last weekend so it's put him in a bad mood.

Wonder if he and his team went ahead with those strong worded letters to the PGMOL or not?

Hope we pin his 'they've been lucky to keep most of their players fit' comments to the dressing room wall. No one can be allowed to disrespect Junior Morias and Will Randall like this.

Two teams in good form at Prenton Park on Saturday. We've been good at home under Adkins, apart from the MK match in which we set up a bit too defensively. Dont think we'll do the same against Crewe.

Should be a decent away crowd, would expect over 1000 at least.
Only sold 657 by this morning. I'd expect that will still rise abit, but might not quite get above the 1000 mark. I should imagine the 113 remaining allocated tickets will sell out this week, plus whatever we bring on the day, probably somewhere between 8-900 I'd guess.

For the first time in ages I can get to a match but I am not going. Accrington is an awful away day if driving, and we are playing terrible football at the moment.

Oh I'm 70, so older than most of you!

He's got to give himself some way to motivate the side for a game where you're odds on favourites, I respect the grift

Cloughy will extremely concerned. Not with the upcoming match or their run of form but the fact he's getting one of those moon faces like Richard Keys. They're starting to look like brothers.

You’ve not mentioned it.

Notts know this is a big chance for them to not only finally win at our place but also close that gap and keep within touching distance of the autos. With 4 first choice defenders missing all the pressure is on them this time.

Yet it hasn't apparently sunk in.

All the pressure? All of it?! Not sure about that, especially after Mansfield's surprisingly poor run of recent form. Whisperings of a choke job are premature in every sense of the word, and frankly laughable. But there is obviously pressure on Clough for this game. Silly to suggest not

Agree it's a big chance to finally get at least a point. However away win odds have shortened but are still 10/3, that's probably due to the no wins in last 6 away games. And that's with only 1 defender out injured!

Both teams to score (1/2) looks very appealing even at those odds.

I think there is pressure on Maynard tbh. I saw him the other day, rabbit in the headlights grinning away after a draw at home to Barrow. Not a bad result but it's two points dropped for Notts County with the players they have and their home record. He's not managing Wealdstone now. He's at a top lower league club in Notts. A win at Mansfield would be massive, good managerial reigns at this level start well IMO, momentum, belief etc. With Mansfield's injuries, a defeat would be flat pancake stuff, not saying a disaster or anything but you want to put an early stamp down.

Really? We're just getting used to playing without Ali (possibly permanently) and we needed a few referee dubious decisions to beat Mansfield. I'd take a point.
You don't appreciate how bad we are. Swindon couldn't buy a win but played us off the park with ease on Saturday.

I’d be really surprised if county didn’t get anything from the game given the issues we’ve got, they seemingly can’t defend so would go for it anyway, creating an open game.

I was startled to see that county conceded 3 or more in 4 out of their last 5 away games. I’ve looked back and we last conceded 3 or more 51 games ago! - you know what’s happening now  :ffs:

Fair comment most of that. not sure about pressure on Maynard, bit early for that. But our record against the top teams this season is abysmal and it’s going to be extremely tedious if we go to an obviously out of form, injury hit Mansfield and play crap/lose.

I’d be up for dropping one or two of our ‘star’ players to the bench, partially to give em a bit of a kick up the arse, and partly to give us something if we need to change things. I’m pretty confident the new coach won’t do this.

Already? It was his first game last Saturday  . Win, lose or draw with a side above us at home it's your first game so you have to play it down especially if you don't win. You can't go heavy on the criticism of your team, play, lack of chances created etc it anywhere close in public . That would be a stupid thing to do. Oh hello Troy.

Phew. I'm glad you aren't saying a defeat in only his 2nd game is a disaster, that would be 'new to football' level of melodramatic short-termism. It would be disappointing but every game at Mansfield Town FC since 2005 has been disappointing.

Barrow and Mansfield is not an easy start to anyone's reign or even close especially with a clear lack of confidence away from home in past couple of months, even with the opposition's shopping list of injuries.

There is some pressure on both men in charge, why wouldn't there be for this fixture?

Parky needs a result at Salford this weekend, that's all we know.

He's taken the first step by splashing out a fortune on their best player right before we play them. He'd love Big Matt Smith as well you know, £500k tester bid going in first thing tomorrow morning I reckon.

Bogey ground. Never even get a point there. Could have Prime Messi, Haaland and Mbappe as our front three against a bunch of pissheads in Tranmere shirts dragged out from the Mersey Clipper 5 mins before kickoff and we'd still lose to Tranmere at Prenton Park. It's the law.

At least we always do the same to them at Gresty Road though.

I mean it's only fair - Luke McGee literally handed you the easiest three points of the season at your place! As much as we do always beat you at home, and we're nowhere near as terrible as we were earlier in the season, we're very short up front. 1-0 either way might not be too bad a guess.

Harrogate's away run has been incredible in terms of how the fixtures fell. They've still got to play 6 of the 7 teams in the top 7, they've only played MK Dons so far. Also got to play Wimbledon as well. So that's 7 of the other top 9 teams. Let's see how they do against teams as good as or better than them.

Agreed. Some of our supporters must be suffering from altitude sickness, talking on social media about the playoffs. In all probability, they will come down to earth with a bump on Saturday.

At the start of the season, Mr Weaver Jn said he aimed to finish in the top half. If we can do that it will be an achievement. For now, it's just nice not to worry about relegation continually and obsessively checking how the small number of teams below us are doing.

How are Stags at full back with all the injuries? That tends to be the game against us in terms of stopping us creating chances.

All injured or suspended, it looks like Akins playing right back on Saturday
