Didn't realise that mate. Thought he was on the bench yesterday tbh  Maybe we'll see Pyke start a game then. Do you know how long any of the injured lot are out for?
No I don’t. I was told about Gardner by one of the players.

Cass must be a huge doubt and McEachran & Rose looked shattered at the end

Vale have only beat Cheltenham twice in the last 13 meetings. Also vale have only won once away at forest green 2 years ago on New year's day in the last 35 years. Cheltenham come into the match with much better form so it's a nailed on away win. Poor form, terrible record in new years day games, Cheltenham a bogey team and lots of injuries easy away win
Jesus, I didn't realise our record was that bad on New Years Day. That's my birthday so I knew it wasn't great. I watched the Fleetwood game on ifollow. The last win before that then must have been Ipswich, Jan 1st 1990. I was 8 that day. Battered them 5 nil. Remember it well. My Dad organised to have my name read out on the tannoy at half time.

I can see this being 0-0 or 0-2 Cheltenham. Vale Park will be toxic if that's how it pans out. We'd be out of the play offs by then I'd imagine.

We'll turn it around eventually but I can see things getting worse before they get better. These players just don't have the character to turn things around. Sulking, feeling sorry for themselves, hiding. Everything we were promised a Vale team wouldn't do.

Weather looks awful, so if the game goes ahead i can't see it being much of a spectacle. Another 1-1 would be my guess, but we really need to start winning these sort of games, especially at home.

Cheltenham looked the epitome of average when we played them a few weeks ago. No doubt they'll turn into prime Barcelona when they rock into Burslem. I just don't see us beating anyone at the moment....we look completely gone.

I'd assumed Gardner was an injury with him
not on the bench. Didn't know Thompson was injured - just thought he was rested at Swindon whilst continuing to get up to fitness after he struggled v Crewe, but then not appeared back on the bench since so I guess he must be.

Obikwu has a groin niggle doesn't he - would hope he might reappear for these coming two games after 2 weeks out. Really hope we don't need to use Pyke as the main striker. He's ok out wide but has never done anything playing centrally.

After Moore made them face the fans at the end and dressed them down you’d hope for a massive reaction and anything less and it will be the time Moore probably hears fans wanting him out vocally at full time, we need a win and a performance to boot, anything less and he probably doesn’t have the majority of the fan base anymore.

Still missing key men and thought Cheltenham looked poor the other week, but as usual we didn’t really have a go until the end, Curtis changed the game so probably one for him to start given how he performed that night.

Luckily if Cheltenham prefer playing away due to their set up they will probably be in for a surprise as we are that negative it will be more like a home game!

Also no matter how poor Cheltenham are at a given time or how good we may be at a given time we always seem to put in a stinker against these.

Massive afternoon for Moore…

Wouldn’t be gutted if it was postponed mind, a game more with Garrity, Byers etc back would be beneficial.

We definitely need the points more than Walsall so hopefully that will count for something at the end of a chocka Christmas period.

Also hope Stoke do us a favour and recall Nathan Lowe.

After 9 points from an available 9 would not grumble with a point against the leagues best team, even if at home.

Regardless of the result it's been a fantastic festive period for the stylish pies which was quite unexpected.

John-Joe O'Toole and Riley Harbottle on the injury list after Gillingham at home. Goodness knows. We have a reasonable record against Newport going back a whole 16+ years.

The H2H stats on page 1 may not be quite accurate: - the website I have been using appears not to have added this season's results.
I'll leave the current H2H stats but will in future use different website.

Happy New Year to all and success to your teams.

Too many game's played in a short period of time means injuries are inevitable. As for Newport they will have had an extra day's rest thanks to Sky so that could be a telling factor. It will just be a case of us putting the 11 fittest player's out there and trying to grind out a result

It’s due to piss it down in Accrington in about 30 mins and continue for 24 hours, I’m not sure how well their pitch holds up but surely that makes the game in serious doubt.

It’ll be a blow if it is, firstly because I’m going and secondly because we’ve put in 2 really good performances and we’re up against a really out of form Accrington side. If it’s on and we win again, then we go into Bradford full of confidence with very little pressure on us.

In the mists of time, Fleetwood have had some good results against Donny. Since their relegation the home team have rebuilt and have one of the best squads in this league. Fleetwood entering a new era and with key players back from injury are looking miles better. Think we'll give a good account of ourselves but still fall short, a home win

At home to Salford. Buoyed up by the positivity of saving a penalty in the 90th minute, I hope we can grind out a draw. I don't think it's likely though. Salford are 2nd in the form guide with 10 points from the last 6 matches while we are bottom with only 1 point in the same time. The team are leggy and injuries mean that there are no obvious substitutes in the squad. Muskwe was binned off having played a total of 20 minutes.

I have doubts our game will even go ahead to be honest. Torrential rain forecast to fall from Tuesday evening right the way through until 3pm on Wednesday. Our pitch can take a lot, but this might be too much. If the game does go ahead, it'll be a shocker that will probably destroy the pitch and be a total sludge fest of a game.

I'll predict a win as Carlisle are 23rd after all, but it'll be a tough game and we're not firing on all cylinders at all of late.

Crewe should try and get this game on at all costs.

We have 11 players out injured, plus one doubt so possibly 12. Including some important players.

One of our better players Harris is out of contract tonight, no new deal agreed yet so likely missing tomorrow.

New signing Patching won’t be registered in time.

Down to the bare bones, crap at the back. Perfect time to play us.

Crewe Alex 2-0 Carlisle United (if it’s on)

Hope it's windy for our game, too. Only thing that can make us play it on the deck.

Not sure why we don’t recall Ojo for tomorrow, at least gives us two decent midfielders!

I'd say the whole of the last 4 months has been the perfect time to play you.

You’re missing the point kid.

Now is far more perfect. They only drew with us a month ago.

If they play us tomorrow it’s a much better time than a month ago and much easier to win.

He’s being too nice. 15 months would be more accurate.
