Tranmere were good at closing down, they may not be as good on the ball but look a better defensive unit than us, going off last night obviously.

I actually think Clough taking off Quinn for Perch was a mistake and probably cost us. I’m also not sure I’m comfortable not playing Clarke or Lapslie anymore. We did a great job in the first half making Tranmere chase us about trying to get the ball off us but we did not carry it on in the second half. Still feels a bit harsh to not come away with a point but that’s how it goes.

The last minute winner for them was offside too, having looked at it, though i wouldn’t have expected the officials to have done anything right haha.

Anyway dust ourselves down and go again

Come half time and the manner in which we conceded,I thought the game was there for Mansfield’s taking. Good all round 2nd half from us though and we got our just reward in the end.

Holy smoke! Liability keeper dropped and back to the 3-5-2!!!! Missing this game as wife’s birthday but feel more positive at that… we’ve been clamouring for weeks for it (which means defeat )

Could do but at least we are giving ourselves the best chance of winning now. Personally I prefer Lucas of the keepers but he’s apparently injured. Just no regrets today Vale, just have a go. We have nothing to lose at this point.

Yep just a shame we’ve wasted four winnable games with the 3-4-3! Hopefully get the best from Wilson and Proctor with this too.

Looking at the two lineups, this is going to be a step too far. Northampton have far too much quality for them to not win this game.

The difference in standard of both teams pre match passing drills is scary.

To be fair were you ever going to say otherwise? Pressure does strange things to teams at the top of the table at this time of year, it’s more than feasible you can take advantage today.

Francomb, Lynch, Tunnicliffe and Nadesan all out due to injury! That's two of our back three, our midfield chaser and our forward from the last five games out!

Francillette, Hessenthaler and Appiah start for the first time in months. Nichols for the first time in a while. They're going to be match fit then.

What we need is a nice easy team to play today. One that we normally beat. Who have we got? Port Vale. Our boogey side!

If we get a point I'll be over the moon.

Missing today due to covid, but my god this sounds awful!

We're a shadow of the side we were mid-Sept to early-Nov

Sounds like we’ve been the better side and have made most of the running so far at Brunton Park. Need to convert some chances.

Refs changed this game with that red now, desperately wants to be the star of the show.

Down to ten men with only one of our back four actually playing in their normal position.

If we win this miracles do happen

Doesn't sound much in it at TNL, we've had more efforts on goal but none really threatening bar a couple of headers needed clearing off the line by the man placed for just that at corners. Bradford still not quite clicking it seems, thankfully but we have given them space at times and they have the wind second half. We've been better after the break recently so hope that continues.

After 15 minutes I was wanting every single player sacked at half time as we did nothing right. Since then though we’ve grown into the game and now playing with a bit of confidence.

Stone justified his selection already with a blinding save. I daresay Holy would not have pulled that off.

A referee wanting to be star of the show at Swindon too. Booked 5 players so far but max 2 of them deserved to be (and one wasn’t even a foul). Swindon co-commentator reckons the ref has his name on his boots… legend in his own lifetime.

Swindon much the better team on the ball as expected - we’re sat in and job made much harder with 3 of our back 4 in the book.

No way will Oldham finish with 11 on the pitch. Bit thuggish.

Just seen the goal we conceded. Absolute calamity of an own goal! Clearance rifled against Smith and goes back into the net! Recall similar against Mansfield a few years ago!

Think we've been the better team so far, but lacking the precision of a finishing touch. Hopefully we'll find that in the second half.

Forest Green need some meat, as in the reverse fixture they go down from what seems to be the wind at least the refs not falling for it like the idiot at VP. They look good on set pieces, other than that not much has happened so far.

Aye was a bit of a freak one. Will say Crawley at that point were full value for the lead. Pretty handy team so we need to keep pushing.
