Port vale at home, we’re on a poor run of form, low on confidence and are desperate need for a win, we’ve created very little recently and I can’t see that changing this wk end with the news that Adam may has done his acl and mitov is in a foot brace after a wankers challenge from a Wednesday player last wk.

We also have both left backs out.

Lost count on how many times bonner has changed our cb’s this season, feel he needs to pick 2 and stick with them, Jones and one other for me.

13/8 for vale lump on!

KTF
Wankers challenge? Even your commentators said Smith had a right to go for it.

I've heard this many times before. On a stinking run, key players out injured, manager making odd decisions.....yet many times before, we have lost these games with a whimper.

I'd say 13/8 are pretty short odds for us. We're very up and down and don't look overly creative ourselves. We seem to do a lot of that pointless passing it back and across the defence and seem a bit slow in our build up. Being away from home, this might suit us!

As I said, if we can get 3 points out of our next 2 games, we'll have done very well. Maybe it's just me, but I felt a bit flat after Saturday...it's a game we should be imposing ourselves on.

Suspect we'll continue to go fairly defensive as we have done in the last three games against Bolton, Charlton and Ipswich with a win, draw and loss so a mixed bag really! But at home, we've got to show a bit more going forward than we have been doing. We're unbeaten at home but only 1 win with 4 draws.

Walsh, Davenport and Draper got minutes in midweek against Newcastle U21's so it'll be good to have them back in and around the squad again. Don't think we'll see Bishop or Benn, Montsma is still out, Oakley-Boothe went off injured in the first half on Tuesday and we don't seem to have an update on Hopper either at the minute so goodness knows what's happened to him. Only sounded like a week or two impact injury but hasn't been seen since Cambridge at the beginning of September.

Not sure I'll quite make the game with it being a 1pm KO but we'll see.

I thought he came on as sub against us after that game? I only took note as I liked Hopper as a player from his Scunthorpe/Southend days.
does seem injury prone though

Has your manager genuinely been carrying a grudge for 25 years against our DoF, or is this an attempt at five dimensional chess?

Ah yeah, he did, I missed that.

He played nearly every game the first 18 months with us but fractured his shin last season in a challenge, which kept him out for a few months. It's very rare he gets niggly types of injury to be fair to him. No-one seems to know exactly what the problem is at the minute though.

What is your problem with that? Released from his boyhood club at 14 so not surprised he would have a grudge. Looks like your DoF made a few costly errors for Everton around that time!
He does praise Plymouth but as always fans see what they want to see

Joey Barton holds grudges? That has to be the least surprising news I've heard in some time

I am not trying to see anything. I deliberately couched my question in neutral terms to ask for your insight. It is possible that he is trying to do both, that he has a long held hatred from Dewsnip and that at the same time he is trying to put Argo off their stride.

long hatred definitely, but I dont think hating on someone's DoF is going to bother anyone enough to put them off anything tbh.

Most teams stuffed us at the start of last season
To be fair, he done well to claim you guys were gonna get promoted after we beat you at our place at the start of the season as most of us,if not all of us laughed at his comments

Big game tomorrow at the Pirelli. Win and I start to believe we can stay up. Draw from a losing position and I might think the same.
Lose and I find it hard to say we can get out of it given our run coming up.

We did too after the anger died down. All worked out ok in the end though.
It's pretty much the same as this season... injured players return = improved form, although I doubt we will trouble the top end this time

Any Vale fan will tell you we are the masters of giving out a helping hand to a team in poor form! We’d probably rather you’d won four on the spin than lost four!

They looked alright against us and tried to play football unlike others we have seen at the Mem.

Ironside looked very decent, good to see him without his wheelchair too!

Should be a belter tomorrow with two in form sides going head to head in front of a sell out crowd.

I expect both sides to try and win the game so hopefully there will be plenty of goals. Nailed on 0-0

F*cking hell I remember that. As well as getting d*cked by Orient at home, 3-0 down in 20 mins or something.

Have to say, overall I didn't enjoy last season. 50% was crap and 50% was great, only the 2nd half was the stress/hopes of actually going up and knowing we needed to win 90% of games to do it. Not complaining mind, those last 2 games were some of the best games of my life

Only just turned the Ipswich v Derby game on. Any reason Ipswich are playing in black and not their usual home kit?

Got to think Derby will be pleased with how it’s gone so far. Seem like they’ve been set up well by Warne.

Looking ahead to midweek I fear our left side against Burns is going to be a ridiculous mismatch.
