Just out of curiosity, how many would FGR take to Wembley?

Don't think I am getting on my high horse about attendances either.

I wasnt old enough to remember but I swear I heard somewhere we took 9 thousand to the old wembely in the fa trophy final, or something like that may of even been villa Park, I think If we do get to wembely it will be between 5-7 thousand, will be a big marketing campaign around stroud I really hope we'd be able to find loads of fans from somewhere!

I'd expect free coaches to Wembley which may get a bigger number than what I predicted. Would be interesting to see what other fgr fans think.

The reality is that FGR and Cheltenham drew both league games this season. Honours even.
The reality is that FGR have a better points score than at same stage last season when Bristol Rovers were 2nd in table.
The reality is that FGR are mathematically still in with a chance of automatic promotion.
The reality is that FGR are 15 points better than 3rd in table.
So the reality is that FGR are better than 22 other teams in the Conference which will be a huge bonus for them against any team they play for rest of season.
You're right of course, I had quite forgotten the reality that you can take your extra points into the play off games with you. As for being in the same class as Cheltenham, dream on. :ds:

Please re-read original post and then apologise.
Nowhere was it stated that extra points can be taken into playoffs.

Hard to tell, there would obviously be a lot of day trippers, a lot of people I know who aren't usually fans went to Villa Park and with the clubs higher profile these days the hope would be for at least something similar. 9-10,000 wouldn't be unrealistic imo.

We'd struggle for 10,000, in fact I don't think we took that many in 2012.

Our big game attendances have been dropping consistently, from 18,000 to Wembley in 98, to 15,000 to Cardiff in 02, 12,000 to Cardiff in 06 and just over 9,000 to Wembley in 2012. A bit of a drop in 14 years.

That being said, I know a lot of fans who have come back this season having trailed off in the last 10 years or so, so if we did get to Wembley (frankly I think if we don't go up automatically we'll lose in the semis) then our following maybe a bit bigger.

I think that like FGRJC said we'd probably do free coaches and do a marketing campaign to get numbers up, Ecotricity are good at that tbf.

Obviously a lot of people have got less disposable income then in 99 when we last went to Wembley, which is the one of biggest rip off venues in the country, but what with this being a bigger occasion and the club having a larger profile if we got less then back then I'd be disappointed.

Completely out of character for Strevens

Six game ban for the thug Strevens, bumped up to seven games because he'd already been sent off this season for fighting in the tunnel against Gateshead. Oh, and he's also picked up nine yellow cards this season so is one away from another ban.

Completely out of character for him, though.

Strevens should have been sent off against us a few weeks ago for multiple fouls but managed to escape without a booking all game.

If we end up in the play offs I'd be confident of winning them. The table doesn't lie, the top 2 are different class to the rest of the league. Whoever we play, we should beat as long as we pick ourselves up.

Going up at Wembley wouldn't be the worst way to go up if we can't catch Chelts.

Doesn't always work that way as many clubs, including mine, have found.
