Less than travelled 70 miles to watch a REAL team in the bottom 4, away at Southport. Remind me, what is the point of clubs like these? :dk:

To annoy you, obviously.

Are you coming down next month? I take it with you being such a massive club you'll be filling the away end?

Rest assured, we'll bring more than most but I won't be among them. As I've said already, I no longer do the Tin Pot clubs, I only give my cash to the REAL football clubs now. I put the money I save in the club bucket collections at The Shay or spend it in the club shop.:£

Real clubs would limit this league to us, Grimsby and Wrexham..

Are we proposing a real club breakaway league then? Lincoln will be in, as well as Torquay. The only other club in Non League who qualify under the real club criteria is Stockport.

This sounds enticing. 5000 gates minimum every week without fail.

Can we draft a proposal on here or something?

Looking good for tomorrow

Encouraging news, although it's pretty cold in Huddersfield tonight and forecast of sleet/snow early morning.
Assuming the game goes ahead, presume there will be segregation? It's very hard to gauge how many Rovers fans will show, two club coaches arranged and others like myself live near enough for it to be almost a local game. I'd guess around 300 SWA.

What's wrong with us?

In this proposed super league, re-formed clubs won't be considered I'm afraid. You could create your own league lower down, get Chester, Halifax and others on board. Promotion decided through election like the good old days.

"The phoenix league" has a ring to it. As for the super league, we have to invite all the referees we've currently got working under cover to 'referee out' the tinpotters. Except that twerp who was meant to be looking after FGR, he really dropped the ball this season...

But in our defence:

A) Was administration even an option when Aldershot FC folded?

B) our "re-formed" club has played in the football league.

Yes it's a segregated game

Real football clubs = Professional.

Just saying like.

Both wrong. For the purposes of this exercise, the REAL clubs are whoever I say they are. For the most part they are the clubs who were in the Football League in 1986, reformed or not. :ds:

According to my BELT sources, real clubs are clubs that have played in the Football League before 1986. not just in 1986. Get it right. That was the last year of re election.

Division 1 or Proper Club Super League would look something like-

Tranmere, Grimsby, Wrexham, Lincoln, Torquay, Barrow, Southport, Darlington, Stockport, Nelson, Glossop North End, Workington, Ashington, Northwich Victoria and Gainsborough Trinity..

Division 2 or Semi Proper Club Super League would be-

Chester, Aldershot, Gateshead, Scarborough Athletic, Hereford, South Shields, Darwen, Halifax, Merthyr, Durham, New Brighton and Aberdare Town.

There would be no automatic promotion between the leagues. Instead the bottom 4 clubs of the Proper Club Super League would face re election. At the top, clubs would only be promoted if any tinpot clubs finished in the relegation zone in League 2. Over time this would eventually lead to the Football League containing only proper clubs again. Once this process is complete, the trap door would be slammed shut forever and League 2 would become as shit and uncompetitive as it used to be in the good old days.

If that was me I would change Aldershot and Hereford to the proper club super league as they have always been and always will be proper clubs who have played in the football league! But hey its your opinion!

Scarborough didn't become a league club until 1987 when they replaced us when we became the first club to be automatically relegated.
Good effort though.

But they haven't. Hereford were only elected to the Football League in 1972!

Ah yes I was thinking about this but I was not quite sure! So my bad on this one. I guess this just narrows it down to Aldershot

There we have it, as I have already said. Proper clubs in bold. With the exception of Darlington who sadly miss out under the no reformed rule, the rest are historical tinpotters, or even worse, re-formed historical tinpotters. Barrow are the nearest overall as they spent many years in the League but being a founder member of the Conference makes you tinpot by default.

Sorry old boy, this is my baby, I make the rules. We're in!. Besides, as a Football League club, Wrexham were as Tin Pot as they come, I mean sure you had the odd run in Europe but you only had to win the equivalent of an English county cup to get in, didn't you. :ds:

I thought Darlington were the same club? Their fans definitely seem to think so. They are actually committed to paying off their debts, unlike the reformed semi proper crew.

Under your no reformed rule then yourselves would miss out. Welcome to the phoenix league.

That was a weird one because they had to keep the debts from the old Club but weren't allowed to transfer any honours. You'd think it would have been none or both.
