A drab game between two very drab sides. You'd still be waiting for a goal now, such was the lack of attacking threat from either side. We are utterly doomed.

Any game we play now I will be very nervous. Any slip up and we've blown it. The fact we have to play 15 games in 52 days is the worrying part. Any postponement is fatal.

Well that was a rollercoaster. First half we were superb and Kiddy couldn't cope. However something happened at the start of the second half - we were either complacent or Kiddy had had a rollicking but they got one back from a long distance set piece and a long looping header which should have been saved. Soon after Gnahoua (?) cuts in from the right and drills it into the corner. From then you think there'll be one winner as we are struggling massively. Kiddy have some more good opportunities. Then a corner for us causes absolute carnage and results in a winner. It looked like it was cleared off the line twice before eventually being forced home. A look at twitter (khfc) suggests handball but I personally have no idea how it went in as there were 10+ bodies in a crowded area.

Absolutely delighted to win again, the momentum is building and the table is looking so much better than it did a fortnight ago.

Really feel for Kiddy as I feel that's curtains for them now. I liked the way they tried to play it out from the back but at times that caused problems for themselves as it was too tight. Number 24 (Fane?) looked a good player at what he was doing - dictated the tempo in midfield for a lot of the game.

Sounded as though 2-0 wasn't quite a true reflection of the game.

Seen the goals and the OG is comical, really. Decent save from Smith for Rhead's penalty and he's missed a sitter in the second half - certainly didn't have his shooting boots on today!

Unfortunately, we're going to have to get used to us getting results and others doing so, too.

Blown what? You have about 1% chance of winning the title anyway. Have you seen anything from your side to suggest they are capable of going on a ridiculous run and winning virtually every remaining match, despite the fact you've still got all the top 7 to play, apart from FGR?

I will give everyone on this forum £1000 if Grimsby win the league.

You'll probably be complaining that you're worried about even making the playoffs if you lose your next game.

If you're a Gateshead fan on that minibus just going past junction 24 on the M62, that was me holding the Shaymen scarf to the window and giving you the finger as we powered past you just now. :bdick:

Worth highlighting, we discovered a revolutionary formation today that will change the course of football, I believe it's called 4-4-2.

That was a nervy finish!

In a quiet first half at a subdued Prenton Park, Tranmere controlled but created little with the exception of the penalties. I was at the opposite end of the ground, but let's just say I need to see the replays! Gateshead were very poor, and created virtually nothing. We were good value for the lead.

The second half continued in much the same way. Tranmere looked very comfortable and added to the tally with a fast break down the left, crossed onto Higdon's free head who duly obliged in tucking it away.

Gateshead scored against the run of play, and it seemed to revitalise them. They were suddenly the much better team, and easily looked like scoring another. Tranmere were tired, but ultimately held out.

3 point, far from convincing, but it'll do me.

Just seen Tuesday's games - if there was a week where we might fall away, this is probably going to be it. The dual tinpot threat of Braintree and Dover playing sides in the dropzone, Tranmere with a more than winnable one at Guiseley....

Will be fun at least if they do somehow drop points.

Criminal for us to not beat Bromley today, their equaliser is shambolic, the ball literally just squirmed over the line.

Seen both games against them this season and it baffles me how they have as many points as they do. They've taken 4 points from us and been absolutely crap on both occasions.

Christ, sorry for having belief. For ages now, we've been inconsistently consistent where have a bad patch and then go on a run off games. I don't fear the top 7 either; we've only lost to Cheltenham out of them.

More Ashley Read than Chris Ingram.

Time will tell, I guess, whether the board were right to stall and stall in talks with him. Things seem to be progressing with him at Aldershot. Either way, we've still got a serious problem.

This Aldershot side are criminally bad, they really really are. Not sure how they've evaded a relegation battle on this evidence.

Because the last 6 games we have on the whole been very good, today we were a shambles though. We were lucky to only lose 2-0...

The meltdowns n the Nest and Twitter have been unbelievably brilliant. Honestly, you'd think we were in Kiddy's position not top having gone a point further ahead in the title race.

A bad result, yes, the end of our challenge for the title (as more than one person has claimed) not a chance.

I will say this, we cannot play 4-4-2 without James Dayton, our only out and out winger. We need to revert back to 3-5-2. Our most impressive performances came when we were playing that formation, Stoz and Pell in the middle, with Munns just ahead of them and behind the front two. Barts and McLennan as wing-backs. The only problem is, we only have two centre-backs until Rob Dickie comes back (hoping to get back to ball work this week in training). We could possibly move Asa Hall to centre-back though.

Three games without a win, this might be the blip FGR, and even Grimsby, have been hoping for. We simply have to get back to winning ways next week against Woking.

Too right, if we win our games in hand, which of course won't be easy we are 6 behind with 9 to play, including having to play Cheltenham, who are hitting bad form at the wrong time.
It is still a very slim chance, but at least it is a chance, which 2 weeks ago we would happily have taken.

A very routine win against a very ordinary side.
Rhead's was well placed but lacked power, he tends to favour that side of the goal as well.
Never really troubled, like crazy said think we've left it too late for the playoffs.
4 points out of 30 in the middle of the season has done for us.

So you also run an eBay-only business from your daddy's house that has net current liabilities of more than £40,000?

Would like to see more up-to-date accounts, as this one is from 2014. Although, what's the point now that he isn't interested with us? Still, it was good PR by the board to delay talks with a potential investor for months on end. That looked good. So does the £450,000 worth of losses they've racked up. We've got a serious problem yet few supporters actually realise this. Ingram and Jordan will come to the rescue, again, won't they? Five years and the best we've got for next season is a 'reduced budget'. Keep on asking for our money for Boost the Budget though. That's fine.

Rotten to the core.

At least you didn't have to watch it on an uncovered terrace in the rain. Still, better than a freak James Lawrie winner in injury time (in the rain) like last season... :conf:

You obviously don't understand how accounts years work. These ARE the most up-to-date accounts, the ones for the financial year ending August 2015 won't be available for another three months or so. Consequently anyone looking at any takeover bid at the moment will only have these accounts to go by, and will therefore have to make any decision on the basis of their contents.

As for the rest: yes, most supporters know we have an ongoing problem that needs resolving. But just repeating the same old one-dimensional, one-eyed stuff all the time while intimating that you know something that most Woking fans don't isn't really of interest.

Tranmere score a goal from open play for the first time in 5 weeks! Great ball in from Kirby, put it on a plate for that big lump to head it in.
Tranmere were quite good today up until when Gateshead scored, then we were left hanging on for a 3-1 win.

I mean, I'd like to see more up-to-date accounts to see how things might have changed, but yeah, it's irrelevant now and on second thoughts how much of a swing could have happened in a year. The proof will be in what happens at Aldershot. Then we'll know whether we missed out or not. My main gripe is how it seemed to be handled. Sure, Read didn't cover himself in glory, yet I think it was partly down to frustration that talks weren't progressing. Why did it take so long for an NDA to get sorted? We'll never know, I guess, but it irks me that something as serious as a potential takeover had to be leaked to the press in order to get things going. Then there's the resignation of Peter Jordan, and subsequent U-turn. What went on there? Maybe I'm wanting to know too much, but in the last year the distance between the 'club' and fans has grown IMO which makes it all the more difficult to fork out for Boost the Budget etc.

We've always had these ongoing problems, although it really seems to have heightened in the last year. I desperately hope something is being done about it, albeit I'm not quite sure what or how judging by the way a potential takeover was handled. The thought of losing GH and ST because the budget is getting lowered below 300k, which it has been for the past five years, would be such an incredible waste. All good things have to come to an end, of course, I just didn't see it ending in this way - following Chris Ingram sending us on our way and saying we must be self-sufficient - after we've been told that we're running a tight ship off the field (at a loss but with the shares covering it). GH's post-match interview today echoes similar worries.

We'll be laughing in August when GH and ST are still here and the budget stays the same, I hope.
