Christ, looks like we got away lightly last year.Derby given a further 9 point deduction
EFL took their time getting Derby, but they've really gone to Town with them now they have em.

Wtf has Oldham go to do with it. And this from a fan of a club that has achieved the square root of fuck all in it’s entire history.T'is cute little 'ol Oldham and Swinny wishing point deductions and the likes on their biggest neighbour. It reminds me of Plymouth pretending Portsmouth are their rivals when in reality, Reading probably don't even know either of you are playing professional and full time footy.
As far as I understand it (and I may well be wrong), this particular points deduction refers to accounting irregularities over several seasons. I think that’s different to your previous situation?Christ, looks like we got away lightly last year.

I meant Oxford not Oldham, too many lunch time ciders on my part clearlyWtf has Oldham go to do with it. And this from a fan of a club that has achieved the square root of fuck all in it’s entire history.
What do you mean by an Oxford/Mansfield situation? We'll see the EFL carry on in the same vein when it's someone else's turn.
I'm assuming the Administrators dropped the legal case on the basis it'd take a long time to sort and want to sell the Club ASAP.
I don't know the full ins and outs of Derby in terms of the Stadium, but are those assets part of the purchase for new buyers? Or are they going to end up in an Oxford/Mansfield situation with their Stadium?
That's true, but an unusual choice of clubs, and way, to illustrate the point I thought. Across the 92 clubs exactly half rent their stadiums. Not sure why you'd think of Oxford and Mansfield specifically? Not owning the Stadiums.
We don’t own ours, we never have, always been council owned. That's true, but an unusual choice of clubs, and way, to illustrate the point I thought. Across the 92 clubs exactly half rent their stadiums. Not sure why you'd think of Oxford and Mansfield specifically?
Mainly because of Haslam/Kassam who're two individuals who ended up having no involvement in the Club but kept possession of the Stadium. They're probably two of the most high profile lower league examples in recent years. That's true, but an unusual choice of clubs, and way, to illustrate the point I thought. Is there a list somewhere of who does and who doesn't?That's true, but an unusual choice of clubs, and way, to illustrate the point I thought. Across the 92 clubs exactly half rent their stadiums. Not sure why you'd think of Oxford and Mansfield specifically?
How's it going to be funded? Straight from Morfuni's back pocket, or financed in some way? If it's financed I'd have thought any surveyor giving it the once over on behalf of the lender would have a very long list of repairs needed before releasing the money. The club/ Supporters Trust have said they expect to purchase the ground from the council in the New Year. No doubt they’ll have to have paid the council the back rent that Power the Crook racked up first.
I read an article about it somewhere a few months ago, and it struck me as quite shocking just how many clubs no longer owned their stadiums. Can't remember where I read it now I'm afraid. Is there a list somewhere of who does and who doesn't?
£2.2m apparently. The Trust have raised their half of the money and Clem has his. The club have always been responsible for the fabric of the stadium and they already ‘own’ the structure. The £2.2m is for the freehold and surrounding land around the stadium. How's it going to be funded? Straight from Morfuni's back pocket, or financed in some way? Serious question, what is the going rate for a dilapidated football ground with only one potential buyer anyway?
What happened to Power? The club/ Supporters Trust have said they expect to purchase the ground from the council in the New Year. No doubt they’ll have to have paid the council the back rent that Power the Crook racked up first.
He’s got an FA charge to respond to on 1 December (as have the club and a couple of others). What happened to Power?
Hopefully Stoke.Rumours there could be a couple more in the Championship in line for a points deduction. Cardiff & Blackburn would be my stabs in the dark.
That's cheap, even at Swindon property prices.£2.2m apparently. The Trust have raised their half of the money and Clem has his. Depending on the capacity and quality of any new stands, you're looking at tens of millions of pounds, so be interested to see how that's financed, as I don't think Morfuni has that kind of money? He's going to be down some serious money, with settling your debts, including Power, so will need very very deep pockets and a willingness to wave goodbye to much of it, if he's also going to fund the ground development from his own funds.I think the car park will go with a newly built Town End. I’m not sure about the fighting field. Obviously the residents behind the Bank are a bit precious about what may be rebuilt there. Again, not sure about behind the Arkells with the cricket club and athletics track.
The Bank should go. No point putting lipstick on a pig. Maybe we’ll go for the 3-sided stadium which seems in vogue these days!
The price is fair, I reckon. We already ‘own’ the infrastructure so it’s just the land it sits on. A covenant stipulates some kind of sporting venue so it’s no good to Sainsbury’s etc.
So, in effect the money is there and ready to go. The council agreed to the sale a couple of years back but Covid put that in mothballs.
The club have managed to get Power’s debt down to £2m, I think, so I presume that’ll have to be paid or an agreement set before any action on the rebuilding.
Just get all the FA stuff settled. The outcome of the court case of Power v Standing will have no effect on the club at all. That’s solely between them.
Tom Lawrence leaving in January, who is on £37k a week.Spoke to my mate this morning who is a derby fan and he reckons all the young talent will be sold in the summer too if not before. So next season they could be starting with kids or freebies so it could be good to play them early whilst still in disarray.
Would love first game of the season, derby v Burton - in the sun, and we dick them 3-0. Well, I can dream can’t I.
I had seen that monthly update, and fair enough, it's a good move.Isn’t it about £1000 per seat? Surely, hardly anyone uses their own funds for redevelpment. Obviously his business can do a certain amount of the work.
Can’t see how it’d be any different to how any other club manages it.
Even those with mega wealthy owners never use their own money.
Power’s getting fuck all off Clem -he got £213,500 for the club due to his own ignorance and that’s it. His gripe now is with Standing and he’ll almost certainly get shafted there, too.
Don’t forget, Clem was willing to pay over £7.5m for the club until he realised Power had fucked up - legally - big time. So there’s funds there for a start.
Got to say, Clem has done everything he promised so far. Regular financial updates, how the debt repayment is going etc. I’d say he’s nothing like Kassam- as much as you’d like to hope he is!
I know you’re not probably not interested but this is what we get every month now.
