I had seen that monthly update, and fair enough, it's a good move.

It's a lot more than £1,000 a seat, more like £3,000 to £5,000 depending on what facilities you're including. And if you're not including all of the facilities there's not a lot of point doing it in the first place.

If he's not going to turn out like Kassam, here's hoping someone produces some photos of Morfuni in bed with a young boy, a dwarf, a Shetland pony and Jimmy Saville!!!!
Here’s a rather boring breakdown of the costs of a regional, brand new 25,000 all seater stadium. Almost £32m so not much above £1000 per seat.

Seems to have put a pay wall since I looked at it!

I think you missed this bit from the bottom of the report Dan!

"Rates in the model are at 2nd quarter 2004 price levels"

It's the Daily Mail, but

Pay up or AFC Derby it is. The taxpayer shouldn't subsidise his takeover which is basically what Kirchner is asking for. Although this comes over as a negotiating tactic rather than a real threat imo.

HMRC has been trying to put the squeeze on for some time. I cannot see them accepting that deal. And if they do I can see lots of taxpayers asking their MP what is going on.

If a deal is their only chance, AFC Derby it is.

If they do it for Derby there’ll be a whole host of clubs queuing up to ‘negotiate’ their tax bills

Why don’t they just negotiate a repayment plan? They’ll have a few players to sell in January.

£5m a year for 4 years or somesuch. Nobody wants clubs to fail completely.

Tom Lawrence must be worth something. Maybe he can pay off some of the bill.
Or else we will send a taxi up the a38 to take their best players for 2 bags of haribo and a Big Mac.

In a normal market Lawrence, Bieilik, Sibley, Bird, Knight & Buchanan are worth about £50m combined.

Can't see many clubs forking out £10m on a single player right now though.

Say £2m on average each, that gives them £12m towards the debt. The prospective buyer only has to fund another £10.5m of the HMRC debt.

Are we not including Bury in the ‘made an example of’ category?

They weren't killed by HMRC though were they.
True, made an example of though still. Not sure it was HMRC who played any role in Luton’s slide down the leagues either though

The absolute worst part of administration other than the innocent staffers that lost their jobs was the scavenging of players for fees amounting to less than 10% of their normal value. Derby fans are set to experience this in January and I don't envy them one bit. It's absolutely horrendous, especially when they are your own academy products.

They won't get £10m for all of them combined let alone one of them.

I think I'm making the point that HMRC would rather get something from a club. Killing them off sort of amounts to cutting off your nose to spite your face. EFL are a completely different animal though.

The EFL certainly don’t want Derby to fail mid season - that’s be a huge pile of shit to work through. Neither do HMRC. They just want what’s owed. If they take a haircut now all the other clubs that owe them - and there a few - will also think about Admin, shave their debts and accept their fate.

We owed HMRC a bit - nowhere near Derby’s amount, obviously - when Power finally got kicked out and they accepted a plan to repay it.

That’s without Admin, though. I do think, however, if HMRC only have a choice between a huge haircut or Derby going under, it’s goodnight Rams. They won’t want to set a precedent.
