Red Dot is decent, but It often gets shut for away fans if a large following is coming, and as it will be a new ground for the majority of people I wouldn't hold on to hope of that being open for visiting fans this season. Your best bet is get in early and go to spoons, or head to Bletchley/Fenny and find a pub there

Fenny, the Red Lion by the canal is popular with away supporters, as is the Swan. 20mins maximum walk to the stadium.

Why would I want a 20 minute walk, preposterous.

Damn new fangled modern facility stadiums, meh!

Fenny is the place I always recommend. Loads of pubs, most complete filth with the exception of the glorious Bull & Butcher.

Predictions:
1) This thread will be the reason the Championship sub-forum will not be the quietest next season.
2) This thread will remain on the front page here for 8 months after MK Dons/MK Wimbles/Winkelman Wednesday are either promoted (beating Derby on penalties at Wembley after scoring a 90th min equaliser and then another last gasp equaliser in extra time. With nine men.) or relegated.
3) The number of additional anti-MK Dons posters contributing to this thread in the coming season will be directly proportional to the number of points they amass.
4) Scumarmy will get a job in Surbiton and become an AFCW fan.
5) Those who dislike MK Dons will learn that the best way to ignore an upstart franchise club is to keep posting about them. The way that extinguishing your garden barbecue is best done with unleaded petrol.

Well, for me, I'm looking forward to go to MK Dons next season. New stadium for me with potential to take quite a decent amount of fans (barring Tuesday night fixture).

To be honest, I've never been to Milton Keynes, this despite having been to most UK towns and cities. Always felt it to be a new town with nothing going for it, it'll be interesting going there.

With regards to the vitriol aimed at them, I really don't have an issue tbh, they are just football fans supporting their local club. Of course, I can understand people not liking the whole relocation thing, but fuck me, Wimbledon (Plough Lane) was a horrible place to go to and they only had about 4000-5000 regular fans. Everybody's happy nowadays (aren't they), Wimbledon are back in business and in the football league and a 'new large town' has a football club.

Everyone's a winner baby!

Unless you're doing shit then you'll be back to your sub 1,500 away followings.

Come on now mate, don't get mardy. Our away numbers have been rising ever since NLN was booted. I would say that our away figures would generally average at around 1750 season-over-season. It does amuse me that you mention it though. Seems teams get stick for poor away followings and strangely when they improve, they get even more stick. Very odd.........

Oh and despite not knowing the averages for last season, I get the feeling from the bitterness of your post, that DCFC had a higher away average than Wednesday? Surely that couldn't be possible, could it?! :eyes:

I suspect you did fella, you were top six for most of the season and got 5k at ours whereas we had 2.7k at yours.

It will be interesting to see how we compare this season to our last few in L1. We were consistently the most visited ground in L1 for years, hoping for more of the same in the championship.

New ground syndrome means you'll replace Wigan as the SBC most popular visited stadium.

Wigan was the most popular ground? Quite surprising that

Scratch that, it's Fulham not Wigan.

Guess that makes more sense, still not entirely sure how it works at Fulham, they have a neutral end don't they? I take it that doesn't add to away figures.

Nah we don't/can't count the neutral end sadly.

Wigan away end houses 4.5k and was cheap as chip so most clubs in the northern end of this league take big numbers there usually.

What is the best away day next season do you think? I've only been to 2 or 3 champ stadium so would be good to know what grounds people suggest going to. i can see our average away from home reaching 700 at least hopefully! should have some decent 1,500+ attendances at a few games next season. as you all know we don't travel in numbers! but are a great vocal set of away fans :)
