Finished Billions, excellent series. First 4 episodes were very good, slowed down a little bit in the middle as they found episodes to ensure they could push for a second series. But the last couple were back up there. Unfortunately, there will be no 2nd series until 'at least the end of 2017' due to actors with other projects in the meantime, so that's frustrating.

Just finished The Sopranos. Still wasn't as blown away by it as the hype suggested but decent enough. I need recommendations for commuter binge watching now.

Hello, friend.

I've recently finished watching a real barnstormer of a television show named "The Wire". Perhaps you should consider doing the same?

The Affair.

Not really my usual choice however I'm quite liking it. As the title suggests, it's about a married man and a married woman having an affair with each other. The story is told by the two of them independently so you get both sides of the story along with memory bias.

I'm only 4 episodes in but so far so good.

New show on Netflix, so far it's pretty interesting. Looking forward to getting into it more.

Gomorrah, absolutely superb show, possibly the best i've seen since The Sopranos and The Wire.

Rewatched The Royle Family for the first time in forever after the sad news about Caroline Aherne. The most recent cringeworthy Christmas "specials" where they failed to stay true to most of the characters (they turned Dave into a child-like mentalist) made me forget just how perfect series 1-3 are, each episode packed with laughs -especially the ones with Norma in them.

I watched The Queen Of Sheba episode last week which was hilarious and sad at the same time, the fact there's no canned laughter makes it even better as i don't need to be told when something is meant to be funny.

Was clearing out some storage space on Friday and found a DVD copy of Rubicon, which I bought 3-4 years ago but never opened.

So far (up to Episode 7) it's really good. Recommended to those who like slow-burning conspiracy thrillers.

I really liked that too.
Yeah, as you know, I'm a complete sucker for anything to do with intelligence and espionage. I also have a thing for slow, dingy, claustrophobic, paranoid, 70s-ish thrillers (the obvious reference point being The Conversation), so the show is right up my street. Shame it got canned, especially since its ratings, though a bit pish, weren't far off what other AMC hits (Breaking Bad and Mad Men) were getting in their first series.

Just finished the first season of The Detectorists. Honestly had never heard of it before but the missus kept saying she wanted to watch it and I eventually relented. Glad I did, it's great TV. Easy to watch, funny and just gentle nice TV, if you know what I mean. I really liked it.

I've just finished watching Twin Peaks (still got the film to go). Absolutely loved it - even the episodes after the big reveal that crossed the line between peculiar and pahahaha.

Don't bother with the film as it's it's just a mash up of the series and this comes from a massive fan of the show.

I am a big fan of the series and bought all 2 seasons from amazon.co.uk.
Absolute gem in my opinion. The facial expressions of both, Mackenzie Crook and Toby Jones, priceless. And Rachael Stirling, Diana Rigg's Daughter, is a beauty like her mother was back in her days as Emma Peel ;).

Actually I am watching "Vikings". Last week we had "Amazon Prime Day" at our german amazon site and I bought an Amazon FireTV Stick for only 24.99€, reduced from 39.99€. And I got a 30 day Trial for amazon prime, too. And so I am now watching Vikings for the first time. And so far (I am already at the end of season 2) I like it very much.

Blimey, she is? I didn't know, but now you've said it it's plain as day. The cheek bones and the eyes.

And yea, Vikings is pretty good. A bit silly in places and I think they take massive liberties with the actual source material they are working from, but seeing as the first casualty in any war-drama is the truth, I think it's pretty enjoyable. It's like Travis Fimmel was born to play that role.

Oh yeah she is like her mother as two peas, both stunning, Rigg back in the sixties and Sterling today.

Detectorists is great stuff though, gentle and subtle and a fine series to unwind to.

Oh aye, just like Rebecca De Mornay, Virginia Madsen, Theresa Russell and Sarah Greene back then! Helped me get through puberty they did before I was old enough to buy Men Only!
