All I seem to do is have nights out in the same clubs really.

A single unitary authority for urban Dorset
Southampton on the train used to be a decent night out for a change of scene, but then Bournemouth and Southampton shared the exact same chains of places so it became no different... shame. Pub crawl around Winchester is the alternative way to roll these days.

I'm 20 too and I hate going to clubs. The only time it's good is when you go to a big city with your mates but going out in Preston or Blackpool is just absolutely shite. Preston especially, there is about 1 good place in Preston and that's only good if you like a certain type of music!

tbf I'm.in Manchester so the nights out are normally decent, especially 5th which has a bad reputation but I love it.

I'm up in the midlands. Southampton is good for Bedford place.

Used to always go 5th but it's awful now. Bouncers are absolute pricks aswell.

42's is where it is at in Manchester. Go once every like 2/3 months now. I feel old at 24.

Funnily enough, since my last post a round of Pub Golf has been arranged for when I next go back to Nottingham...

Going out in Manchester after our game in Altrincham next week, going to South as a mate raves on about. Actually quite looking forward to that.

Depends. In some places I see 35 year olds and think yeah that's fine, but if you go in somewhere like 5th Ave in Manchester and see a 25 year old you think what the fuck are you doing

I went to 5th Avenue when I was 21. Just remember the bouncer being a bit lippy, I told him to fuck off and he let me in. :dk:

Big fan of 42's on a Saturday night if i've had a skinful with lads that's usually where we end up. If we are with work or lasses then it's the locks usually and i'm not overawed by that.

Saying that i've also done Sankeys and WHP in past 6 months and i'm 24 and that was different to say the least. Like being in Ibiza really.

It's shit now, it's where you start when you're young but it gets so boring as the music is all the same, I swear they just put Xfm on.

When I first moved up there we went that often we could predict the playlist almost. Play some pretty random shite amongst it all too on occasions.

I jacked it in at 40. I was starting to look ridiculous.

Looking at this thread you should have jacked it all in by 20. :)

Do any of you enjoy dancing though? That's my main reason for going. :)

There is a reason why it's called dance music and the nights go on until Sunday afternoon. (Its not just the drugs honest.)

I like dancing...even though Im massively shit at it. I tend to make sure Ive always got a glass in my hand when Im dancing so I dont have to do anything with my arms because I look a right twonk when I do. Yes this does mean Ive stood holding an empty glass for a long time, and it also means Im screwed in places like Bamboogie that dont let you have drinks on the dancefloor...

I've obviously been to the wrong places then cos any 'techno' nights I've been to have not had people dancing at them...suppose it depends on your definition of dancing but it was literally people nodding heads or the same drunk 'dancing' you get everywhere

Yeah I prefer to dance with a drink in my hand. It feels strange when you don't.

It's become abit of a skill to be able to dance with a full pint and not spill a drop!

I once paid £8 to get into a club that had some vibalight shit or something on, had 1 drink and buggered off, not been back in there since and that was a good 2 years ago. I think everyone in the room was on Speed.

Fair enough. I love dancing to most dance music DnB, Psy etc. You can dance to techno, its slower and more steppy but I love dancing to it as do most people I know.

I don't really pay much attention to how others are dancing to be fair. Just get on and do your own thing. :)

What's vibalight? I'll usual get a can or a bottle much easier to dance then. Can of beer is perfect.

Some old style rave crap I think. I much prefer getting up and dancing to some ridiculous song like Steps 5 6 7 8 and just have a laugh then some right heavy music with no words, might just be me though!!

It's why I like this club more than the rest, you can get Red Stripe in cans!

If you can buy a drink in can you know it's a good club. :) Also though I take the music quite seriously as do a lot of people there. If you love the music it's perfect.

Not heard of vibalight but obviously dance/rave music isn't for everyone and that's sort of the point I suppose. It's a different environment. When I dance and the music is
good it's like nothing else exists and it can be a very "special" place. When you see festivals like Boom in Portugal and what they are trying to achieve there alongside just putting on a good psy trance party its inspiring.

Although sometimes it can be just as stuck up etc.

depends how drunk I am, if I'm not drunk enough I just watch other people embarass themselves. When I'm drunk enough I think I'm Michael Jackson and do some weird things with my legs and hands, thankfully its never been recorded to torture me with the next day.

Back in the early 90's there was plenty of techno stuff played in the sort of clubs I liked. These were usually dark places where I could shuffle about without feeling self conscious. Ive loved techno ever since because you can listen to it as well as dance to it. The bright poppy clubs were never my thing.
