depends how drunk I am, if I'm not drunk enough I just watch other people embarass themselves. When I'm drunk enough I think I'm Michael Jackson and do some weird things with my legs and hands, thankfully its never been recorded to torture me with the next day.

Well if you think that people are embarrassing themselves then maybe you're in the wrong environment. :)

The whole point of dance music is that you can dance, be free and not be judged.

That's why chicago house took off in the 80's amongst predominantly gay and black people. It was a environment where people don't judge you and on the whole it still is. :)

maybe its just me being too self conscious then but whenever I'm dancing the next morning I cringe and laugh at the images I have of myself...and assume everyone does the same thing but apparently not haha

I'm totally aware I'm making a total tit of myself, but that's half the fun surely.

Old man pubs and gigs any day of week. It's only good when you're somewhere not bursting with helmets desperate to have a shag or get off their heads ie. rare. Club culture's never not been incomprehensible to me. I'm no dancer but will absolutely dance. Count me out of places with bouncers/that cost to go in.

I don't really pay much attention to how others are dancing to be fair. Just get on and do your own thing. :)

Its interesting being a sober clubber, especially if you're a people watcher like me! You can see some very interesting sights standing on the sidelines! I think my favourite ever was the time that terrible Beyonce song Single Ladies came on, and some guy breaks out and does the entire dance from the video, notices me watching the whole spectacle, puffs his chest out when its finished, and says 'Ill go do something manly now...'

The best place in our town is the biggest dive in town. Called the Market, heaving all night, and the atmosphere is always brilliant!

Pubs over clubs all day long for me!

Sounds like my favourite place in Wigan! Its practically underground, so there's no reception, so its also a great place to go if you're trying to avoid your more commercial music loving friends, just hide in Boulevard and say you had no reception! Rock music, pool table, cheapish drinks, great atmosphere, live bands in the next room, and one of the only places in town that trusts you to drink out of anything other than a plastic cup on a Saturday night!

23 doing my masters I don't tend to go out much, when at home I go to the pub more than clubbing as well.

I used to love clubbing back in the day. Did the rave scene for years and had some really good times, especially at venue 44 with Vibealite so was interesting seeing the links above, I remember all those flyers. Also Kinetic in Stoke on Trent was an awesome night out.
As the house scene took off in the later 90's I'd be in Union 1 or Time in Derby every weekend, that was a top night out.
All these clubs dissapeared over the years, their is no club scene left in Derby any more. But as the years have gone by I'm much more of a pub drinker anyway, to be honest the thought of standing in a club for hours, drinking shit beer doesn't appeal to me any more any way, I'd rather grab a taxi home at midnight.

I've seen many a 30/40/50 year old out so I figure never.

I am not a big fan of clubbing. Probably because I was brought up in Milton Keynes where the clubs are shit. Coventry is not too much better, though Kasbah nightclub is a good one, three dance floors offering different music as well as a large heated smoking area outside...and they regularly have guests, meeting Mini-Me and the Chuckle Brothers were highlights. Normally just stick in the 'indie' bit where they usually have a band (had Miles Kane, The Pigeon Detectives and The Subways recently) followed by classic indie/rock/alternative songs.

Scrap that. Went out in Covent Garden last night. Apart from spending at least £100 I now have the worlds worst hangover. I think this is my bodies way of saying look Llama, you are 25, enough is enough mate.

Getting tired of clubbing and I'm only 21. I overdid it first year and have pretty much seen the good and the bad clubs of Newcastle and Manchester (to a lesser extent). Right now I'm definitely enjoying going to pubs/bars with friends.

I can also concur that Fifth Avenue is shit. Do they still finish the night with Wonderwall or an Arctic Monkeys song every Saturday?

Best double negative in the world right there.

I hated clubbing, now I like it.

I've never really enjoyed clubbing, I go out to have fun with my friends and due to inner ear problems I can't really hear what they're saying when we're clubbing so I existed in this strange twilight zone where I am just "there" for a few hours, so I've always preferred pubs. I can see the appeal, but it's never really been for me, I'll take a good pub where I can chat crap with my friends for hours over some drinks.

I regularly go clubbing with my brother in law and his mates, who I also work with, and they're approaching their 30's

I used to like sitting in a pub with mates over clubbing but that's changed as I've got older.....it's a shame really as It's so expensive going out in London.

Age is juss number. Long as you take care of your skin and keep well groomed, you could be pullin till 40s easy.

I hit the club a little more regularly recently, connected with a few old pals who love doin shizzle to the max. Kingston Oceana, sometimes Watford, Penthouse at Leicester Square. Book a few tables and chill like boss ;)

I've only ever been to one oceana in my life....I walked in got a drink done a lap of the dance floor and decided I was far too classy to be seen in such an establishment so left.

I can't quite describe the smell in there....an infusion of wet socks and vomit.

Sounds horrible. It's always telling when you take a quick scan of the types of peoples dwelling in the establishment.

I haven't been Watford in about a year so can't say how it's been recently, but Kingston is on point. Decent music and plenty of a certain type of women

Long as you drop the right lyrics :woot:

Remember a new place opening in Wigan once, so they were giving out cards for free entry and free drinks so me and my mates though we'd try it. I needed the toilet so went there straight away and said Id meet my friends at the bar when I came out. Came out to wash my hands, had a look around and felt like I was at a school disco! I must have been the only person there over 18. Came out of the toilet looking for my friends, who were nowhere to be seen at the bar...they were waiting for me by the door!

I had to do a search as I was 99% certain Kingston doesn't have an Oceana, but I realised it's now Pryzm since a stabbing/murder a few years ago. People rave about Pryzm, but now I know what it actually is I'll stick to McClusky's.

I seriously hate Oceana. What nightclub has fruit machines and Ping Pong tables ffs?

When the sight of tattooed people in low cut t shirt's and shitty jeans dancing badly to some horrendous euro techno makes you want to vomit, that's when you're too old to go clubbing.

I think they're all turning into 'Pryzm' now....

Tbf any club in Kingston is going to get good looking girls....don't know what it is about that place but the ratio of good looking girls to rotters is quite good.

Smudge 'never again' experience I presume  It always helps to look at the area the club is based in as that's typically the sort of crowd you'll find yourself surrounded by.

Van Der Graaf I thought the Kingston joint was alright. Nip out for a quick Subway and get in for more drinks. Bare coca in the toilets though :woot:

Well so I've heard

sl1k Guess I'll have to check it out for comparison's sake. Only problem is a night out in Kingston involves a hotel as I miss the last train, not that I mind as it's an infinitely better night out than Reading.
