A guid dram
I've been dragged to nightclubs three times in the last year after previously only going once in the last 10 years. They are still the same as I remember them about 25 years ago; all posers, far too much money to get in one and the price of drinks is scandalous, there is no space to swing a cat - and the toilets!!

Of course the same things can be said about pubs now, and I don't like going to ones that are too busy now - perhaps its time to find an old mans pub as a local! :D

Peterborough is pretty shite for nightlife. We have three choices.

Edwards/Flares/Red Room which is all linked. Pretty shit, overcrowded, expensive and often full of complete pricks.

Halo which again is god awful, unless of course you want to pay stupid prices for shit drinks and listen to wank music all night.

Solstice which is more pub than club. Couple of rooms, a dance floor but a decent atmosphere and the only place here where I tend to go now. More people around my age too as the younger lot tend to stick to Edwards, thankfully.

I'm not really a fan of just going down to the pub, tbh. At rather at least go to a bar.

Luckily, in Lincoln, there's something for everyone really. You can just go to the pub in the Bailgate, the bars in the high-street and/or then onto a club if you wish. The most popular club here, is 'Home', which is 5 or 6 floors with various different rooms/music which caters for most ages, including live music in the main entrance bar.

Me and friends actually went out a few Saturdays ago to some of the 'local' pubs. She's going out with a lad from Shropshire and 2 of his friends were visiting, so she basically to show them that our little hick town is more of a hick town than theirs! First place we went in, Ive always hated. Its generally the pub in Upholland that will more likely have someone getting glassed by the end of the night because someone in there with a glass eye was allegedly eyeing up your sister/ missus. Its changed slightly, this time we went in, the music was louder than it is in a club, and lots of questionable people were dancing very incestuously to Gangnam Style, when someone from the pizza shop down the street walked in with a full order for the rather large lady sat in the corner. Her mate was asleep so she ate it all...

I enjoy going clubbing at Uni far more than back home, maybe because clubs back home tend to be fairly shit and standard Essex especially with those that go there. Norwich has a decent selection, although we always seem to end up back at one called Mantra if everywhere else is a bit shit. The Waterfront on Fridays is decent for rock/indie-rock music so it's always decent there, otherwise it's your standard chart faire. Went to one called Fluke on Saturday mind which played 90s/00s music which was pretty decent although a bit dead, tended to be very 30+ in age people heavy.

Needless to say we ended up back at Mantra. Reckon Vodka Revs is the best bar around as well.

I'm 22 and I'd much rather go boozing in a pub all day than going clubbing.

I'm not too fond of it anymore but I think it all depends on the individual. People 40+ enjoy it and I'm sure they deserve some fun after a long day at the office.

I met a couple of 60 year olds out at a psy trance party last night. Still there 6:30am fair play to them. :)

Not really sure what "growing up" means but
I think it means feeling comfortable and confident enough to do what you want to do. :)

Just to clear things up I didn't mean grow up and never go clubbing again, just not three or four times a week. I love a good night out with a bunch of mates, but I dont get to do it as much anymore because my pullout game is weaker than Aston villa's frontline.

About 40 I'd say. Maybe 45. I enjoy it much more than when I was in my early 20s. It is quite fun to toss a coin on whether you'll get in or not such is your level of drunkenness (or rather the bouncers' leniency). Once you in you do pay much more for shit drink but hey it's all good fun.
