I want Barrow up, can stay with friends in Lancaster. Meaning I also want Carlisle and Morecambe to stay up, Stevenage can get back where they belong.
Not quite sure who else I want up from non-league. Notts County or Stockport would be the most ideal but we'll probably have to play fucking Bromley or Solihull Moors.
I watch a fair bit of that level and I would take Solihull to shithouse their way to the top 7 if they are promoted.

Milton Keynes and Bolton are quite easily the poorest teams I've seen this season bar Southend. All three of us deserve relegation.
For away days though I'd prefer Tranmere to join ourselves and Bolton.

Any two of Barrow, Halifax, Solihull and Harrogate would be fine. Not really bothered who the 3rd relegated team from League One is; Tranmere or MK would be funniest I guess.

we had a dip in form at the start of the season. We were P9 W2 D1 L6 after 9 games. Since then we are P20 W16 D3 L1 and the 1 we lost we had a player sent off at 1-1 (it was rescinded on appeal)
With a terrific run of form like that I’m surprised you’ve never mentioned it before.

Solihull and Notts Co are fairly local for me and Notts is a decent away day.

Barrow is miles away, haven’t played them for years mind.

Harrogate would please the wife as she keeps banging on about going for the day...

Southend are down already, Bolton is ok but assume they’d piss the league next year. Guess Tranmere is a decent away day and bring a few to ours.

I wouldn't mind Barrow or Stockport back in the league, or even Halifax. Assuming Southend and Bolton are doomed, isn't it about time that Rochdale dropped back to their usual level?

Whilst I don't have a huge stake in who comes up or down, for the love of god can it not be MK Dons who make up the 3rd relegated spot? There are so many other teams to come down who will be better than them. As for who comes up, Barrow wouldn't be a bad shout because they'd probably go straight back down. Same with Harrogate, Bromley, Boreham Wood.

Don't fancy Notts County, Yeovil or Stockport back just yet as they'd be quite competitive.

Anyway, what am I saying? We'll be in L1 next season, so..... :shifty:

you've obviously not seen us play this season - if we get promoted and keep the players and manager there's more chance of us being near the top of L2 next season than the bottom.
FYI we tonked Notts County 3-0 at Notts earlier in the season.

The only problem with Barrow is that whatever time of year you go it's bloody freezing.

I remember playing there in our Conference days, late April I think it was and the whole country was in some sort of mini heatwave and it was still bloody freezing there! :bg:
And that’s coming from a Grimsby fan!!

I would be happy to see Stockport and Halifax back and also notts but like others it would be a shame not to give them at least another year or two to make sure they get the full non league experience.

As for league one, happy for Tranmere to come back down even if it’s just to piss off a couple of their posters on here who became complete knobs last season

Plus the dick-heads who invaded our pitch at the end of our play-off semi-final and assaulted one of our players. I don't usually express an opinion when it comes to who I would like to see move up and down, although I do have a view, but on this occasion it would be wonderful to welcome Tranmere back...when they probably thought they would never see us again!

Totally different levels next season and your two strikers both failed to make an impact in L2 last season.

If you keep the same players you'll be nowhere near the top. Big gap these days.

Albeit only seen them once ,on their Meadow Lane performance they would of beaten most L2 sides this season.

It was superb, effective, clinical, purposeful. Yet as we all know you can't make huge sweeping statements like the one above based on just one match viewed.

That said Barrow's league position and record strongly suggest it wasn't a one off.

I hope Barrow don't come up purely so we don't have to listen to this all next season. FYI, everybody tonked Notts County in the league here last season.

I saw Barrow play 5 or 6 times last season (previously visited relations) and you did play some decent football at times but there's a reason why the likes of John Rooney haven't excelled in the Football League. Yes, he can ping a ball about but he's far to slow for league football. Lewis Hardcastle and Josh Kay both look decent players.

For those of you who are planning a weekend in Barrow, don't it's bloody awful.

Hardcastle is another who couldn't get into what was a poor Vale midfield last season.

Only have to look at Ricky Miller - 40 plus goals in the NL and in L2 got 4 I think it was.

Halifax are a cute little Yorkshire club, but I’d prefer Barrow then Stockport, or County for obvious reasons. Barrow is obviously miles away from everything but I remember them bringing about 70 every season on a Tuesday night and making some noise so I have a soft spot for them.

Last season and this season are thankfully very different at Meadow Lane

You will come up with momentum and probably start well. But you’ve only got to look at last year’s promoted sides (Orient and Salford) to see it’s more likely to be a struggle than a success if you do come up. Salford even have a war chest to spend and they’re still not top half.

That’s not to say you’re completely wrong, but it’s naivety at best to expect to be nearer the top than the bottom.

We got Matty Warburton from Stockport, he was meant to be outstanding for them and the videos appeared to confirm that. When he has played for us, he has struggled with the pace of the game in our Division and when in possession or provided with an opportunity needs too much time which he obviously doesn't get.
We are now in January and he is still struggling to adapt, he had a one on one with the Leyton keeper on Tuesday and delayed with 3 or 4 touches when one would have done before hitting the bar.
It proves the difference between the two levels that many fail to appreciate.

Waiting to see who will be in L1 next season! :P1:
Huddersfield, Stoke or Charlton coming down from the Champ would be quite tasty. (Barnsley, Wigan and Luton not quite so much)

To be fair, Lincoln and Tranmere aside, the rest of us since 15/16 have struggled the following season.

We barely avoided relegation, Grimsby we mid-table. FGR stayed up by the skin of their teeth, Macclesfield went all the way until the last day of last season and neither Orient or Salford are pulling up any trees. Lincoln still needed a year at League 2 before going up again.

Momentum will only take you so far. A lot of Cheltenham fans thought we’d a do a Macc circa 97/98, bearing in mind we got more than 100 points and won the Conference by 12 in the end.

Oh I'm sure they would be, but I'd rather the three other sides if I were you. More chance of beating them lot you see ;)

Speaking of L1, I think I've only watched no more than a couple of games this year so I don't know if anything's changed. Used to be a time when the difference in class was more evident than the one between L2 and the connie. I rather suspect though the quality's gone down, keeping in tandem with L2 and the NL.

L1 generally is better standard, the play, getting punished for mistakes than this level and you get some really big clubs who spend good money.

I've only appreciated how decent L1 is compared to L2 after relegation down here in 2008 for the first time in 25 plus years... and noticed the improvement in our spell back in L1 mid decade.
