God Forbid if Boreham Wood come up, they would easily be the smallest club to ever enter the EFL on crowds of 500 at best - but yet they can afford to bring high calibur players based in the South because of the funding they get from Arsenal and their ladies team.

Meadow Park is IMO a decent little ground though, as an away day its pants unless you go via Kings Cross. The High Street has one Whetherspoons pub and thats it.

Their chairman Danny Hunter doesn't mince his words, although he was very sympathetic towards ourselves after we ended up relegated down to the NL. They also lie about their crowds, the first year we went there we easily had around 1600 there, but that somehow ended up at 1,200 with 700 home fans IIRC when the official figures were released.

Harrogate is a decent town, they'd need to do some serious work to their ground though to prepare for regular visits of bigger away support though IMO.

Can't imagine the EFL will allow Boring Wood to a) charge opposition media to enter b) charge opposition local radio to commentate on the games or c) charge opposition clubs for DVD's of their just played games.

Bradford buses are used to hills Conker. Probably the hilliest city in the UK
I’ve been to Plymouth a few times when my Sister in Law lived there and that’s pretty mental for hills too.

I've been there a few times for the Women's football and also visited to watched Cobblers Youth against Arsenal Youth, the parking in and around the ground is not the best. They have a small public car park and if you get there too late for that, the on-road parking clogs up the whole of the housing estate that it is in the middle of, to an extent where emergency vehicles would have great difficulty attending any incident.
The facilities inside the ground make Salfords look decent!
They would have to spend a fair amount to improve it up to league standard, I would have thought.

It's a mad league - Torquay in 14th are just 6 points off the playoffs (with games in hand on most teams above them) yet are just 5 points above the drop.

Saw some of the highlights from Barrow's game against Sutton tonight - saw Jason Taylor playing for Barrow.

How in God's name are they top of the Conference with shouty-pointy man in the middle of the park?

Have watched some games this season - the quality of the conference is one of the worse I’ve ever seen it. It’s so much lower than it was 4-8 years ago.

Not really sure what they’d need to do except install a few more turnstiles. The ground has sufficient seating and is of a large enough capacity.

"ASTRO PITCH HIRE
Boreham Wood Football Club’s function and facility team are taking bookings for our brand-new 5th Generation Astro Turf.
Our new pitch is one of the newest, and most advanced artificial surfaces currently on the market; no expense has been spared to ensure that it will play as close to natural grass as you can get."
That’s the training ground at the back, not the main grass pitch.

Don’t get what the league has against 4g pitches - they’ve been used in international matches but not good enough for league 2? Haha.

We always destroy Hartlepool in cup ties but never beat them in league ones! Keep them for cup ties only!

Taylor was pretty decent for us during his loan period (10 seasons ago). Helped us to promotion to L1. Was a bit miffed we didn't sign him permanently when he left Rotherham - either Cheltenham offered more money, or he's a National Hunt fan...

We had money at the time, so I wouldn't rule it out.

He was dreadful for us, but then he was part of a dreadful team.

I presume they can only do that because the conference doesn't have a broadcast rights arrangement that covers radio commentary, and I'm sure the coverage from local BBC stations in the league is something that clubs have to sign up for.

I think a professional football club should at least be able to maintain a grass pitch.

I don’t mind the idea of it at all, look at the issues we get down the west stand because of the rain and lack of sunlight - would have that problem with 4G
