Really quite important that we get a win today, luckily results went our way again on Tuesday keeping us 7 clear of the bottom 3 but surely one of them will string some results together soon, my money being on Birmingham. Bolton also struggling down there so a win will give us daylight on them also, and keep the amount of teams between us and the bottom 3 reasonable. We could do with a fast start and early goal as it won't take long for the fans to turn on the players as soon as a pass goes astray. Sadly I can see this one being a bore draw.

You're not gonna go down regardless. The teams below you, not least us, can't buy a bit of form.

Still reckon a few could string a few together, if we win today and have a 10 point cushion I'll just about be able to join the mid table thread.

Again the bottom three have let us off, 2 points chucked away but we gain a point on the bottom 3 and are 8 clear. We're desperate to get some players back, hopefully get something at Leeds then we get 2 weeks off which we've never needed so badly. Bolton were poor but we were no better, point was probably a fair result as they looked more likely to score than us second half.

Agree with this completely. If I was a Owl though, our team out there today cost us nothing, either free transfers, loans or home grown, still think the team you had out today must have cost you a few million, and they looked a bit lost to me.

I thought we worked hard today and deserved at least a point.
Two poor sides, but considering we’ve spent nothing at all, Parkinson has done a brilliant job. I’m confident we can stay up. All about progressing then over the summer into next season.

You'll stay up for sure, looked very strong at back, we were awful and it would have been daylight robbery had we taken all 3 points.
Can we swap managers in summer? because ours hasn't got a clue. :dis:

Beat Barnsley next week and we’ll be mathematically safe. In March. What a season it’s been.

Same for us I suppose, we've spent a little bit I suppose, don't think you spent anything did you?. Never mind that though we both still have playoff hopes

I think Saville, Wallace and Cooper came to a little over a million combined: peanuts for this league and tremendous value for money. All the promoted clubs have done well. Even Bolton, who are skint and spent fuck all, look like they will stay up. It’s why I always want us to be in this league, even despite the money dripping down into it from the Greed League, it’s still so competitive and unpredictable.

I think we've spent around 3.5m in the 2 transfer windows which is fuck all again really, I hope if we don't make 6th spot you or Preston can do it.

Don't think the police will let us out at the same time as you if we both stay up, think your lot were caught out be the speed in which they let us out and we (as in our lads, not me of course, as I am far too old for that these days) on top of some of your lads before they realised it, then the usual ballooning after the initial shock

Neil Harris has to be a contender for manager of the season.

I would say Parky to be honest, first 11 matches 2 points only, bookmakers stopped taking money on us going down, and to be honest, we were dead and buried and doen for lowest points total, would never of thought we'd make 20 points, never mind nearing 40. But of course the league winners will have the manager of the year, it is always the same

It’s worth noting that Parkinson was in charge for those first 11 games.

That is true, but Wednesday gave us our first win, which pleased a couple of people on here :)

More than happy to swap Parkinson for Stam - deal?
Noticed the supposed "protesters" came back yesterday.

Shite excuse for your awful home numbers in midweek imo, there's not really a lot to protest about at Reading.

Also gave you your second win if my memory serves me correctly.
We are very kind like that, if anybody is on a long losing streak, we will always endeavour to break the sequence for them.

Not to be pedantic but we would have only sold Saville and Wallace for what we bought them for, which was 1.5m for Saville and 1m for Wallace. Very much doubt we would have made a loss on either when we sold them on.

Our transfer record still stands at 800k, confirmed by the club. I’m sure there are add ons in there somewhere, but by all accounts neither Saville nor Wallace reaches seven figures individually.

The Millwall history site, which goes off as many sources as possible, has Wallace at 750k and Saville at 500k. I think that sounds right, given Wolves had a host of players incoming and we had very little in the way of competition for either player.

Your summer recruitment was outstanding.

Meredith and McLaughlin are just solid, dependable full backs who I would've had here, both cheap as well. Saville has done really well must admit I wasn't the biggest fan of him here though he didn't get much of a chance, but Wallace back permanently has proved to be a masterstroke and a player I always wanted us to sign when he was at Portsmouth.

Then Marshall in January who is a quality winger in this division, wonder if you'll go for him permanently in the summer. You'd be several points better off if you didn't have a bomb scare in goal as well, I don't think much of Archer at all.

All of it with a club legend in charge who seems to be doing a fine job, you're pretty well positioned and I'm not looking forward to the game at yours next month.

The recruitment has been spot on, which is a nice change — we ended up releasing all the players we signed last season in the Summer.

Second season will be our biggest test, though. The likes of Preston, Brentford and Bristol City aren’t the norm. Most newly promoted clubs end up struggling in their second season and never really recover. We’re going to have to be doubly shrewd in the next transfer market, or we’ll fall behind. Ultimately the odds are stacked against us and it will be a real battle to stay competitive at this level over the long term.

We were awful in our first two seasons in fairness but have improved somewhat this season. Luckily for us we have the financial backing to stay at this end of the division but it remains to be seen as to whether we will with our manager.
