Of course now our team looks like it would struggle, but I'm sure we'll get some useful additions in over the summer. We've also never been relegated immediately after being promoted, so that's a nice precedent to keep up.

I don't see this. Burton have that 'feel good factor' that small-town clubs like Coventry and Derby used to have. I know Coventry have gone down Bluenose Creek but Derby have shown that a small, well-managed club can really do well for themselves. I think Burton will manage mid-table next season.
You can fuck off with that small town club shit for starters.
Ninth biggest city in the U.K. Yes we may be shit ATM but how the fuck you can compare us to fucking Burton god only knows.

It's Hertswolf sense of humour, it was sarcasm. Thought it was obvious to be fair by the way he was describing Derby. :dk:

After the season we've just had it's obviously affected my senses, I'm on edge and obviously a bit touchy at the prospect of going to Barnet and Forest Green Rovers , with all due respect to these fine clubs.
Christ how I didn't see that god only knows.

Apologies to hertswolf .

You're always welcome on here Rev, good luck to the Sky Blues for next season too.
We'll try to move up a bit but it's a very tough division, cut out the crappy middle part of the season just finished and we'll be ok, as long as we can replace Tammy (GULP!!).

None as strange as me. Sorry if you were offended. Just that with some big football towns around you, like Nuneaton and Tamworth, you can be forgiven for forgetting about...ummmm....yeh...you people. And you fucking broke Sam Ricketts. Bastards.

Derby and Coventry have populations of around 250,000. Burton's is about 60,000 so hardly comparable.

Insecure over-compensating ahead:

Only three sides promoted through the third-tier play offs have gone straight back down: Walsall in '89, Burnley in '95 and Yeovil in '14.

Only three other sides have finished higher the season after winning the play-offs than we did in 2011 (9th): Notts County, '91 (4th), Huddersfield '97 (8th), Man City, '00 (2nd).

Our all-time historical league position sees us just above the Championship relegation spots.

Take THAT, doubters!

Getting in early on this one.

If we sign the right players and they gel quickly then we could do well as I believe we have a very capable manager. Huddersfield have proven that it's possible to lose your best players and thrive against the odds, provided you make the right signings.

However, we could also end up doing a Rotherham. Staying up would represent a fairly successful season.

Signing anyone decent? I'm sure our scouting team all reside in Barnsley, so we'll take them off your hands if so.

We're currently joint 3rd favourites for the drop at sky bet which isn't too far wrong imo

We looked a division higher than Bolton and Millwall when we played them in the second half of the season.
I think league 1 was really weak last season although the Championship didn't look that high a standard either when I've watched matches on Sky.

So either Sheff United willl be promoted or Bolton/ Millwall will be relegated
Of course the latter is more likely to happen and we should have a season similar to Barnsley (finishing mid table), although there are always surprises, anything could happen really.

Last years league Champions Wigan were relegated this season where as the team that won the league 1 plays-offs (favourites for relegation) Barnsley were in the top half most of the season and comfortably stayed up.

I'll take a £10 charity bet that Bolton finish higher than Sheffield United this season.

I'll also have £5 charity bet with someone that Gary Madine will score more goals this season than Billy Sharp (league only).

You also looked bang ordinary when we beat you at our place, but heyo.

Wigan won the league the year before pretty handily, yet were relegated without a whimper this season. What happened previously doesn't mean a whole lot of anything - you're assuming we won't strengthen, which we already have by adding James Meredith.
